w00t! Not that I need one, but its good to see these getting reasonably priced. Any of you still looking to make the switch to HDTV, this might be a great option!

-
But I\'ve never heard of Vizio
-
its probably just re-badged from a major brand.
-
720P for under a grand and it\'s 42"?
damn.
-
i wouldn\'t buy anything unless it\'s 1080P
although i\'m keeping my 36" CRT for a few more years
-
it makes me curious about this plasma contrast ratio quality...About $100 less, one can get 34" HDTV CRT from Sony with black level and contrast ratio to please...
-
Yeah, I\'m with mm on this one. If you\'re getting a HDTV these days, get 1080P.
-
yup...especially siince everyone seems to want a ps3...
-
1080P has gone down to $2,500.00
That\'s a 50" right there.
-
720p for under 1g is a steal, take it.
You may have to wait in line at 3am because you can bet other Costco Black Friday shoppers want the exact same thing.

1080p 42" toshiba (http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926HDS0010077731&catid=24558&logon=&langid=EN) for 1999 CDN, which is about 1640 USD.

Shitty thing about Canada is that your prices for electronics never properly reflects the us retail price. I noticed Canadians get raped when it comes to retail goods. I understand our supply and demand is greater here in the US, but unfortunately your distributors need to lower the prices to reflect the new currency rate.
-
Some do, most don\'t. They know that "free trade" is a joke, and if we order from the US we pay duties.
Bastards.
-
Can\'t you have friends just buy it for you and bring it to you to avoid the extra cost? I do that for my aunt in Barrie, Ontario.
-
Yeah, but then you would be hitting smuggling/fraud areas of the criminal code, and while the chances are infinitesimally small that you get caught, the penalties are much more draconian.
