Once I tried the update, it basically destroyed the Wii\'s connection to the internet. Mine is among the very few that got fooked.
I tried to re-format the Wii. No deal. Still won\'t connect to the WiiConnect24. There\'s a message about the error that Nintendo\'s solution is to send you a replacement console and a box to return the bad one. Of course, you have to provide a CC number in case you don\'t return the bad one, they\'ll charge you for the replacement.
Everything is free.
But that means....no Wii for me! (luckily I have a second Wii on hand. Hoe my sister doesn\'t mind I use it :p )

That\'s good for the mean time. Thanksgiving might mess up your delivery, but hopefully by Monday you have your new system.

All in all, Nintendo\'s massive launch is by far the most successful debut of any console. I think almost a million was sold in a day. And relatively speaking, it\'s flawless.
Except for me. :(
-
The current rumor is that they only moved 700,000 instead of their originally promised 1 million. But no one really knows.
-
ONLY? Heh! ;)
A lot more are arriving today and tomorrow for Black Friday.

Just an update:
I did get my replacement Wii a few days after I called Nintendo. I had to send the borked one back. The new one has all the updates installed however, it will not recognize saved games from the borked Wii. It\'s okay. At least Nintendo didn\'t charge me for repairs or delivery.

That\'s about as good as that could\'ve gone I suppose.
-
Try that with Sony and Microsoft. They\'ll be charging you up the ass ;)

Sounds like a fun Saturday night.

Luckily, I bought mine from Costco. If something is broken, they\'ll replace it and Costco will deal with Sony. :D

I doubt Nintendo sold a million in one day, considering they\'re just over 1.5 million since launch, but who knows.

Sony is getting their asses kicked right now. Hope they can turn it around.

well, its just that the shortages are giving the competitors the upper hand right now. Also, it somewhat an unfair comparison saying the 360 has sold over 8.5 millions units, because that is the total of how much it has sold since last year. It would be more of a fair comparison if they also included the units the 360 been sold since the launch of ps3 and wii too...
-
Wii didn\'t sell a million in one day, I think it sold about 600,000 in its first day or two in America. They missed the one million mark.
-
If that is the case, Wii sells pretty well nonetheless.

I meant by Nintendo. Sorry. Should have been more clear.
