What now? How much worse do things get? Or did it not really matter anymore as it is now bigger than Saddam.
-
although it doesn\'t matter much if he rotted in prison or was executed, his execution was something that needed to be done.
-
it made for some cracking tv, I couldn\'t get to sleep last night so I watched it all, I was flicking between sky news, bbc news24, and cnn.
-
Did they actually show his execution on tv?
-
no, they showed them putting the noose round his head, then they blacked it out.
I youtubed\'ed to see if there was anything but there wasn\'t.
Some extremist site might have got hold of it though
-
I\'m sure something will get leaked to the internet.
-
i dont think much is going to change, for better or worse. There was a pretty big car bomb i guess after but i think thatll be the end of events related to saddam\'s death.
And i thought they were gunna show the iraqi\'s more than just preparing saddam to prove he\'s dead, so more will probably get released. highly doubt our news stations will show much though.
All they showed here was 3 guys in jumpsuits and their heads covered..at least all i saw
-
they said on the news this morning that the whole video has already found it\'s way onto the net, on several sites.
-
there\'s a video of it on google video, someone must have had a video phone on them.
-
I cant believe we are discussing about a leak of him being hunged instead of the seriousness of things to come
-
same thing is probably happening on most forums that are discussing it, the question regarding the availability of the video will be inevitable considering the nature of the case.
Of all the forums I visit, almost all of them that have mentioned it, have asked if it has been leaked onto the net yet.
Don\'t be so shocked by it uni, seriously.
-
i\'m never shocked by the utter idiocy of the internet community.
-
hmmm,...i don\'t know it\'s kinda scary when alot of people was kinda makin\'
his execution a kind of pay per view kind of event...with the prez sayin he was pleased with the outcome and various other news networks almost glamorizin\' his execution, i was kinda shocked, i thought we were supposed to be above all of that rhetoric, and yet we were scrurring around it like a schoolyard fight....even tho saddam was a vicious dictator, and i know the u.s. are tryin to act like they had nothing to do it,...but they started the chain of events with the initial invasion....the people who executed saddam are no better than the factions that are going back and forth with these revenge killings...saddam was the prez of that country. And even tho he ruled with an iron hand, it\'s clear as to why he had to rule in that fashion....look at the chaos that\'s happening now.
Both factions wouldn\'t dare to commit such violence with saddam in power and now iraq is in worse shape than it was with saddam in power....bottom line?...the point is just that i was a little disturbed in how everybody was almost glamorizin\' his death, i think he should\'ve gotten at least life in prison, he was the prez of a nation, show the guy a LITTLE respect and show that you are above that, they already killed his sons, i think letting him live would have been a better way to let him suffer and also showing a wee bit of human compassion at the same time.
-
iraq is in worse shape than it was with saddam in power
completely incorrect.
-

I have a link that was shot with what looks like a cell cam. I just havent posted it since it is a hanging and all.
Ive been banned for far less....
-
completely incorrect.
hmm so you figure all the bloodshed and violence was happening in the compacity it is now when saddam was in power before we went in?....keep thinking that.

I am annoyied by this because it shows how wrongly people view the war and the outcome. It simply shows people have no idea, believe whatever they are being told by those who proclaimed the war, or dont give a damn.
Even Sadam\'s execution and death was used in a very sickening way for propaganda, to satisfy interests and provoke dichotomy and destruction in the Arabian world. But people were made to believe that justice has been served.
completely incorrect.
See what I mean?
btw: There is a video out there of Sadam being shown hanged. I saw it and its very sick that people actually recorded it with their cell phones and took pictures of it for suvenirs. Not something we should be expecting from civilised humans. The site of him being hunged and his neck snapped and misplaced isnt what I d call something worth watching
-
O please...they allow the family and others to view our various ways of capital punishment in the US.
Civilized what?
-

yes, turn off foxnews

I just saw the video on Google. Crazy is all I can say about it.
-
yes, turn off foxnews
funny you should say that...i saw the bit on o\'reilly where he was stating that over 750,000 people died while under his rule. So actually foxnews supports what you\'re saying.....i think 750,000 is kinda strechin\' the truth tho, foxnews is so far up bush\'s ass it\'s not even funny....
-
yes, turn off foxnews
Its not foxnews

completely incorrect.

While that is a very large number..Id be willing to bet it is pretty close.
Hell.. a country that MAKES certain ppl play on its Olympic team and then tortures and kills them when the lose or make a bad play... come on
Either way...was still none of our business to go there.
The US is more than able to attack anywhere on the face of the earth in a relatively short time. Im sure when and if he ever became some sort of real threat to us, the US would have invaded anyway.
People use the excuse about what happens when he would have done something drastic...If that is the case...many countries that do not like the US are capable of the same thing and we would/should be fighting 23 different wars right now....lol
-
^^^i\'ve seen the video\'s of those people he gased years ago. pretty disturbing and brutal....i still stand by my thoughts tho, his death shouldn\'t have been made into some type of circus show. Even when we were bombing strategic targets under the sanctions a few years back, saddam was being kept in check,...and i agree with you in that we had no business to be there...WMD\'s?....riiight..
-
still ringing that "wmd" bell?
time to move on
-

time to move on
Ditto. Its like beating a dead horse. Lets get over it people.
-
When you say move on...do you mean ignore the chaos that is curently in Iraq and pretend nothing has happened?
-
still ringing that "wmd" bell?
time to move on
i\'ve already moved on from that...but that is where all of this started in the first place. I love how people forget how arrogant the u.s. was when this thing first started..."uh if you\'re not with us you\'re against us... we will form a coalition of the willing" there was a reason why france germany russia and china didn\'t want us to go in. Colin Powell retired shortly afer his u.n. presentation...he even stated that the u.s. going into iraq was a bad move.
But i agree lets stay on topic....now that saddam has been hanged, now what? we killed his sons, we killed zarquowi(spel) <----that al-quada dude...and each time i think we kinda thought that it would shake the confidence of the enemy, when it only has fueled their aggression more. Now the latest i hear is that the u.s. wants to send more troops and literally go into every neighborhood and clean out all of the militants....thing is tho, weren\'t we already doin\' that? What\'s going to happen is that you\'re just going to get more troops killed,..you think sending an extra say 7,000 troops is going to make difference?
-

Yeah but instead of focusing on the real issues now, people keep bringing up WMDs and stuff like that. Instead of focusing on the past, why don\'t we focus about fixing/finishing what we started. We can\'t change the fact about being there but we can focus on what needs to be done and leave the past alone. I understand why we are there. That is irrelevant to what is going on right now except to how we got there.

Thats exactly why people bring up the past. Knowing that the "office" that started the war by selling lies to satisfy its interests is the one we are relying on to bring balance on the situation as well, people cant help but see no solution. And these people rule America. Ofcourse it will annoy and it will continue to annoy knowing that the country is being ruled by a slef serving administration. Especially when the possible coseqeuences were known for decades.
Unfortunately for those who understand this, there are the those who still support them, want others to blindfold their eyes, forgive the blamers, and continue giving the props to those criminals that handle the situation and their lies.

First off, there weren\'t lies. In case you have been following anything since the start, Bush and everyone in the administration admitted they were wrong in going in and that they got faulty intelligence. There were numerous things released here in the US to show that the CIA messed up. You get such small tidbits of information on your little island and what you read from nutjob bloggers online that you really have no idea what is really going on, especially in the United States. I\'m tired of this "they lied to us" bullshit. There was faulty intelligence and Bush corrected this by revamping the CIA and they are running better than ever (one of the few good things he did do).
-
Titan..seriously..the american public was lied to on numerous occasions when it came to this whole Iraq thing.. dont kid yourself. Unicrons post may have been a little out there..but still...lol

You thing they admitted that they are wrong because they only recently understood they were? They admited recently they were wrong because they realised they cant get away with it.
Also admitting they are wrong have nothing to do with them saying lies in the past and ignoring the true motives. This is the result of consuequences when you lie. You try to present yourself as making a mistake to run away with it.
Also keep the ironies about my little island away. I get information from foreign news. You also underestimate me so much because I am in an island its pathetic. Our news dont differ from international news. I even got information that some would never want them to be revealed in the US in public.
You seem to forgot the disputes between intelligences and the administration, with the administration trying to persuade for a war on vague and non-concrete facts.
Does this ring a bell? This is just an example
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/08/AR2006090800777.html
If you think that the Republican party didnt want the convenience of false information to be spread to increase their publicity as well as opening paths for future investments then you should go for a reality check. Also you are fooled if you think the Bush Administration didnt know that many of the claims used to excuse the war were falso from the beginning
Its also amazing that people throughout the world, that werent in any kind of intelligence predicted the consequences, spotted which of the claims were BS before the war even started, and now they are proven right.

Relax dude. I\'m just joking around with you when I mention your country.

i was just reading some info regarding iran and various comments made by the iranian prez and some in his circle, i\'m goingto copy and paste each one and await some comments,
-He spoke with confidence over Iran\'s ability to withstand a strike. "The United States is unable to inflict serious damage on Iran," the president said. He also noted, "They (U.S.) are not really in a position to carry out this action (of attacking Iran). I believe there are many wise people in the United States who would not let it happen."
-The U.S. intends to cause insecurity and dispute and weaken independent governments in the region to continue with its dominance over the Middle East and achieve its arrogant goals," Ahmadinejad said, according to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency, or IRNA
This next comment was made by a person by the name of Mohammed al-Naqbi who heads the gulf negotiations center talking to an american secrtary of political affairs, Nicholas Burns
-"What we are not interested in is another war in the region," Mohammed al-Naqbi, who heads the Gulf Negotiations Center, told Burns. "Iraq is your problem, not the problem of the Arabs. You destroyed a country that had institutions. You handed that country to Iran. Now you are crying to Europe and the Arabs to help you out of this mess
thoughts?...
