i never knew this about these new flat screens. i thought they were waay better on energy consumption than the old sets. y\'know sorta like how these new washer and dryers are more energy efficient than the old ones......read.

i guess you meant to say flat panels tv like plasma which they claimed consumes more energy than CRT...

but i think its true, as time go by, these tv will consume less energy as technology advances.

I just read that panasonic and pioneer 1080p plasma that just came out a few months back that much better black level and higher contrast ratio.  In the range of 2,500:1.  Yet, it also consume less energy than previous models.  Pretty cool huh.

I\'m not concerned. Too many people are uptight about the power consumption they forget that technology advances. I bet people were the same way back when appliances used a lot of energy. Technology improved and everything is energy efficient which is good :)
