Easy to imagine the computer just sorting soldiers by \'no longer in service\' and not having been told to ignore those that left for cause.  Not really a big deal, although I suppose at least one family will sue.

Your post had nothing to do with Bush but you mentioned him despite that no one even said his name. There\'s the irony for you.
So I refered to your post. Not the thread.

Its more likely that someone like you and Viper_Fujax would cry (which already happened) in fear someone would bring him up since its becoming more and more obvious the Republican party is leaded my morons than me "eventually" bringing  up Bush in this thread.

please find a post where it says im a bush supporter or a republican. And im pretty confident that titan isnt either

I made the post as a trap out of boredom and you fell for it. so technically, i brought it up so you would bring it up and i could call you a moron out of the ironic situation. The republican party actually didnt have anything to do with this either sooo..yea

Theyre not lead by morons.....if they were led by morons they would have been gone this election. I\'m not saying Bush is one of the brightest lights we got, but theyre some people working behind the scenes to make sure us Americans keep voting for them.

Thats exactly my point. You are life is so interesting you dont have anything better to do, than post something about Bush in fear I would bring him up and then claim its a trap.

When you say working behind the scenes, you mean people that are smart enough to gain inrrational trust from people to maximize elections or wise enough to always choose whats best for Americans even if that means no personal political gain?

well the thing that got the dems the house was this war....people are fed up with it....and they think the dems is the party that\'s going to bring them home....but as of late, the dems are dragging their ass on that issue as well. To be honest i really only hated bush\'s decision to invade iraq. his arrogance has cost lives and turned a situation that was under control(iraq sanctions) to a scenario that is outta control.

But aside from that bush on a national level was actually doin\' great things for the country, even after i filed taxes and received my return, bush did something, i\'m not exactly sure what it was, but i think he inforced some type of tax cut, which later ended up with me recieving another 400 dollar check in the mail. he was also pushing for permanent tax cuts.*before the war mind you*....something the dems was gonna veto at every step. I was really big on bush for his policies within the country because they were going to continue to do great things for it\'s citizens as a whole imo.

Like i stated before i consider myself a dem,*but moreso i will vote for the one best suited for the job* but i\'ve noticed, well at least on the local level in gov\'t is that they like to raise taxes. But that is only my experience with democratic govenors in jersey, well actually that one govenor Mcgreevey was actually doin good things for the state as well, i guess ultimately it comes down to the individual, i guess that florio govenor and the recent corzine govenor are the culprits for raising taxes, which is why i kinda feel that democratic govenors almost always raise taxes.... but i still think Clinton was one of the best presidents we\'ve had.

What the fuck are you talking about? I consider myself a republican but I\'m in no way a Bush supporter. He had some good policies but for the most part is a fuck up. And I don\'t even vote on party lines. I\'m not some party sheep. This past election, I would have voted democrat because they were more in line with what I believed. If you vote Republican just because you\'re Republican or visa versa, then you are a sheep, like the things you like to have sex with. Hell, I\'m even considering reregistering independent or part of the Libertarian Party. We need a third party, that\'s what we need. Lewis Black hit the nail on the head, "the democrats suck and the republicans blow".

Blah - soon the 08 election will be upon us and the Bush haters will have to find a new scapegoat.  I don\'t think Bush is that great of a president, but we could definitely have worse ie. Gore or Kerry.

Republicans/Democrats are the same thing.  Both on controlled by special interests and corporations.  Nothing new there.

I think Bush\'s poll count shows the general opinion of him ;) When the war started and even before then, his approval rating was high and since has steadily declined. What is it now? Like 10%? I haven\'t followed up on his approval ratings lately. Seems most of the country is kinda tired of him.

Post by: GigaShadow on January 11, 2007, 12:34:28 PM
It isn\'t him.  It is the drama and the negativity surrounding the current situation, which can\'t really be blamed on him.  If 9/11 had never happened his approval ratings now would probably be above 50 percent.  Probably, like most Americans I am tired of arguing over it.

Any president who was in office during and after 9/11 would have probably done the same thing he did.  The American people wanted vengence and Iraq was the easiest of the three major states that sponsor terrorism.  Saddam was the weakest foe who we could go beat on and whose own people hated him the most.  Most American\'s were eager to put a thumping on someone and they got it.  Afghanistan?  That country doesn\'t even have any indoor plumbing - America wanted a bigger target.  What most American\'s don\'t like is the aftermath and the job that faces us as a country by cleaning up the mess that was made after the fighting was over.

I have said it before, Bush\'s main weakness is his inability to change plans quickly, as opposed to his greatest strength which is the ability to make a decision quickly and act - right or wrong.  He certainly isn\'t the greatest president and history won\'t remember him as such, but I also doubt history will lump him in with the likes of Jimmy Carter either.  The situation he was put in after 9/11 was a no win situation in the end.  If he hadn\'t done anything he would have been criticized for being weak - he did something and has been criticized for being a warmonger.  I don\'t think anyone would want to make that decision.  This mess won\'t be resolved for a decade at least no matter who is leading us.

On a positive note the economy is doing well. ;)

Meh,..i think bush should\'ve stopped at afghanistan. i too wanted the u.s. to take some action, when he went into afghanistan i was all for it, even to this day, but as soon as he announced iraq, i was against it from day 1, saddam was of no imminent threat to us, the guy we needed to keep our focus on was and still should be osama bin laden, y\'know the guy actually responsible for 9/11?...not some washed up dictator who was as harmless as a kitten to us....even he and osama hated each-other.....you don\'t even hear the words osama from anybody in his adminisrtation at all.

I too thought that bush was the best prez for the job this last election, because at least he does what says, but he also is very stubborn and arrogant,...how can he say in his speech that he wants an iraqi gov\'t that answers to it\'s people, when he himself doesn\'t listen to the citizens of the united states? If it wasn\'t for the dems getting control, i\'m sure he would still be stating that we are winning in iraq..

But as much as i hate to say it, we cannot let iraq fall into an even deeper hole. if we leave the chaos will spin outta control, and if unchecked, i do believe that in some shape or form this thing will present itself at our doorstep. thing is tho, what if this surge in troops doesn\'t work? then what?.... i say get ready for the draft, this thing has already discouraged young folks from goin\' in and gov\'t are already talking about how they want to beef up the military in general.....and if this war continues on this path, don\'t come lookin\' for me, cause i\'ll turn into a jehova witness quick as hell!...:D....in all seriousness tho i also agree if we leave maybe these iraqi soldiers will step up if they have to do it on their own, then again, i\'ve also heard stories of iraqi soldiers running and retreating in the heat of combat and leaving our troops to fend for themselves, it really is hard to see a solution for this one, iraq is one terrible mess....

I never understood why.....

I also never understood why they put more effort in capturing Saddam than Bin Laden....the one who caused 9/11. I do agree that Saddam wasn\'t as big of a threat. Maybe they figured that by having Bin Laden on the run they wouldn\'t be a threat to the US. But then again, maybe the higher ups were smoking some good weed and thought their strategic plan was a good idea ;)
