I got a PowerShot S400 like 3 years ago (got it when I was a junior in high school for my birthday) and I absolutely love it. It may be a bit outdated but still takes amazing photos. Well a week or so before I came home from school my camera had problems with the compact flash reader. It had an error.
I called up Canon and I talked to a guy on customer support for maybe 10 minutes at the most until he sent me a shipping label and very detailed instructions. Customer support couldn\'t have been better. He even said they\'ll fix it for free for me since it was their fault (which I was pretty shocked to hear).
It was shipped out and they received it. One month later they still have it and I didn\'t hear from them. I called them and they said they were waiting on parts. It was supposed to be a 2 week job. This is going on a month, if not past.
I like Canon products. Every printer I got was a Canon, every camera my family has had was a canon (my mom still uses her SLR from the late 70s or early 80s and still works perfectly and takes supreme pics). The only thing I didn\'t like about this whole ordeal is how long this is taking for them to fix my camera. I couldn\'t even use it for Christmas or New Years or any of my birthday parties. But they say they are running on Holiday Volume so I kinda understand. I just want my camera back. But I guess them fixing it for free is a good deal.

They\'ll send you a voucher (partial payment for a new Canon camera) if they can\'t get your parts.

So you\'re whining about Canon when they offered to fix your 3 year old camera for free?

Yeah, what he said. That\'s amazing that they are fixing it for you at no cost.

I\'m not whining :( I\'m just bitching that I won\'t have it when I go back to school and that its taken 2 weeks longer than they told me it would :p

Yeah considering I don\'t think I have the warrenty on it still. Like I said, Canon has the best customer support of any company I dealt with. I\'m quite pleased.
What is funny about the whole thing is that I didn\'t think they would have fixed it for free. I thought I was shelling out like 100 bucks to get this fixed. I was quite shocked to hear them do it for free.
The only other Canon product to give me problems was this printer I got with my Gateway computer oh so long ago. I think that was my fault since I used it like 3 times a year, lol. But I got it for free so I didn\'t really care. Its just collecting dust now.
