I\'ve played Madden 2007 and Need for Speed Carbon for PS3.
One word
Pathetic
Madden looks SLIGHTLY better then the PS2 version and I\'m looking at it on a 720p monitor. Heh, in fact I prefer the look of the PS2 version.
The players look like they are all on steroids (even the QBs have outrageous biceps) and crack (their eyes look like they\'re about to pop out)
Call me crazy, but I think the PS2 version looks more realistic in terms of lighting etc
Now Need For Speed Carbon.
Am I playing a PS3 game or a low-end PS2 game? I\'m leaning toward the latter.
The cars have tons of jaggies, the PS1 NFS games have more traffic, and OMG, for such terrible graphics you think at least the framerate wouldn\'t drop, and it does with the slightest bit of action. PATHETIC
Need for Speed Carbon looks like EA just ported the PS2 version straight to PS3 with nothing more or less.
Madden 2007 looks like Madden on PS2 (in some cases worst then PS2) with just more detail to the faces. My brother laughed when he saw Madden running on PS3. That\'s PS3? LOL
The back of the Madden case brags about \'next gen tackling physics\'. The tackling is laughable at best. It is a downgrade from the PS2 version. How sad.
And that NBA 07 game, I think EA makes it, the players look like plastic dolls. Another sad attempt to make a next generation game.
Now before you go trashing PS3, I think this is a problem with the software, not the hardware.
I have played Resistance fall of Men, Marvel Superheros, Motorstorm demo and GT HD demo and these games make you say at times say is that realtime/video? They look like what I expect from PS3
I just think EA has gotten lazy and doesnt try anymore. Their \'PS3\' games look like they just took the PS2 version and put it on a blu-ray disc and called it PS3. Hopefully these games will be vastly improved next year. If not gamers should boycott EA for not even trying.

i think madden looks great. I have a 360, so id imagine its the same as ps3. Tackling animations are a joke, but i still have fun with the game. and most players run like they have a stick up their butt (looks like a 2k football game). But i think the player models look good and the uniforms..the stadium looks amazing, which it shoudl since they spent all their time on that.
Not sure why ur comparing it to ps2..ps2 is cartoony compared to the 360/ps3. And Madden was always a joke with tackling animations..theres a couple cool ones but that is the one thing that i wish they would take from 2k sports, who had amazing animations.
As for nba 07..your fault for buying that. 2k is way better basketball.

If you think EA\'s games look like crap, you should play the Cash, Guns, and Chaos demo. Eesh. Looks like a PS1 game.
And first generation games or not, with EA\'s huge wallet, you\'d figure they\'d be able to make at least one graphically impressive game compared with the other developers.
I\'m sure EA\'s games will look better in time, but I do think they\'re getting lazy.

Is it possible that theyre too stretched out? or does it not work like that. Because EA is making a shit-ton of games right now for some reason. They got the battlefield series (making a new, big game right now), all the sports games, burnout, probably a few more i cant think of off the top of my head.
Im also not buying the "first set of games." Madden 2001 was a great game and a huge leap..madden 06 was a joke, and madden 2007, while im having fun with it, is missing a bunch of things. But ill be happy once they fix the animations, fantasy draft, 2 players on one team, and (you may think its dumb) in the pro bowl the players should have their specific team\'s helmet..not the gay ass NFC or AFC logo. Gameplay wise i think its way better...every madden before this one something insanely annoying would never be addressed, like not being able to stop the bomb, but i dont have that kind of a problem in 07 except maybe the corner-out routes

Want to know why EA doesn\'t make graphically superior games? Because they don\'t have to. People will continue to buy Madden games whether or not it looks stunning.
EA, like any other corporation will work to the lowest common denominator in order to maximize their profit.

EA is sitting back on it\'s laurels. It\'s gotten big enough too out muscle the competition, and doesn\'t need to innovate or even release fully play tested games to sell large quantities.
EA hasn\'t gotten my support on a game for a while now, they\'re relying too much on their name instead of actual quality offerings.

theyre definitly not worth 60 bucks (i sold some ps2 stuff so i got it for cheap), but its not unacceptable. Its an alright game with some stuff they need to fix..like any other madden. either they got lazy or they want to be able to say "THIS GREAT FEATURE (that was in the older madden games) IS IN MADDEN 2008!!"
EA has baseball and hockey down. I havent played nhl 07 but i heard its good, more specifically the graphics. 2k has the baseball liscence so there goes that for EA.
2k is better at football (graphically speaking IMO) and basketball. 2k\'s hockey game is shit and their 2k6 baseball game was worse than madden 06.
its not just EA. I do wish 2k got the football liscence and EA got the baseball one though..MVP was an awesome series of baseball games.

it is lazy programming....and it\'s true the madden football on both ps3 and 360 are just upgraded from the current version....they still have that pudgy midget look to them, only now, like some have stated they look lkie they are on the juice....i\'ve purchased madden 2007(ps2) just to see if i can get back into madden...guess what? espn 2k5 still looks and plays better than 07. that 2k series was the only series that made significant upgrades with each yearly release....madden just got roster upgrades.

i think nba 2k7 is excellent as was nfl 2k5. the last hockey game i enjoyed was nhl2k3 or nhl 94.
EA needs to get their shit together because they have been turning out crap with Madden, Live, and NHL for quite some time now.

For a PS2 title its an alright game with some stuff they need to fix since.......forever.
Put this in a next gen console and its unacceptable

When I loaded up Madden 07 for PS3 for the first time I expected something new...When I played Madden 2001 for PS2 for the first time you could see the player\'s hair, eyes mouth, mouth pieces, emotions. You could see the rain drops. Lots of new things. New things the PS1 version didnt have.
There is nothing new on PS3
It feels like there may be less
I was expecting pileups, something neat with the weather, like better snow ande rain effects, anything. But there is nothing new. Just more detailed stadiums and more detailed but not more realistic faces for the players.
NFS Carbon shouldnt be allowed to be a PS3 game.
To put my and other\'s thoughts together simply:
PS2 Madden is 50x better then PS1 Madden both gameplay and graphics wise
PS3 madden is just slighty ahead of PS2 Madden, ONLY in the graphics department
For both PS3 and 360 Madden 07 got 7.9 from gamespot.com
For PS2 and Xbox Madden 07 got 8.1
Why do last generation games get better ratings for the same game that is on next generation consoles that are 50 times stronger then the last generation consoles?
Hopefully people will learn like me and others and stop being a sheep that mindlessly buys the new Madden game every year. I was OK with small steps every year after 2001 madden because the jump was so huge but after such a small jump to the next generation to me this has become unacceptable.

Stop trying to sound philsophical, it\'s annoying. The reason they got rated better is because next gen forms were focused on making a new graphics engine as opposed to implimenting all the various gametypes. Meanwhile reviewers eat up all those gametypes and dock the new gen forms for not having them. I know EA is lazy so spare me on that.
If you were really expecting something that would blow your mind in difference you\'re a fool. Maybe in 08 or 09 Madden (actually NCAA is better)

to me, madden started with their foot in the ground with madden 06. The game was one of the many first sports games pushed to release in time for the 360 and it was a joke of a game. I mean..the achievements are like "get a first down" "score a touchdown"..stupid bs like that. I know achievements arent the game but it just sets the tone.
If im a sheep for enjoying playing a game (that i payed for) and at the same time it\'s pissing you off, then that\'s just putting icing on the cake
In other news..EA finally fixed the major lag online. There\'s still a little delay, but before it was ridiculous playing people on the east coast for me (west coast players were fine). Hopefully they can keep that going for the next maddens

Just got the latest issue of Game Informer
What do you know, there is a whole page in it dedicated to EA sports and whether or not they are \'declining\'
The article features graphs showing how the ratings of EA\'s sports games have dropped over the past few years. The magazine and I both agree Madden 2004 was the best Madden for the last generation, and that ever since Madden 2005 the series has declined every year.
It also talks about how a group of NBA Live 07 PC gamers are boycotting EA. Apparently the last straw was when EA didn\'t bother to program the AI to bench its starting players at any point throughout the game...

2k basketball is awesome so theres no point in even mentioning nba live. Theres competition and EA is getting clobered in that sport.
football..that wasn\'t EA\'s choice to get the lisence but i guess ull just have to do without. 2k is going to make a football game eventually, they just wont have the names and teams

I just want my MVP baseball (aka Triple Play) back. I miss that series, to me it was the best damn sports series. F 2k for buying the baseball license, that\'s the one thing I really liked from EA.
Live used to be hot, but they started going a weird route which made it a weird game to me in transition.
I agree with a lot that has been said in this thread about Madden. After 2004, I veered off to ESPN 2k5 which was half the price and a lot more fun. That\'s when they dropped the bomb that football is gonna be exclusive to EA.
BTW, where\'s Madden in this year\'s Madden? lol I played a couple of quarters (PS3) and didn\'t hear him once.
Currently I\'m playing my 360 that I recently purchased and am enjoying NHL 07 and NBA 2k7 which are both really good games.
