Title: Starting an eBay business
Post by: Titan on January 14, 2007, 10:41:43 PM
Tell me what you think. I need to make some extra cash this semester to help pay for my apartment and like 3 trips for the summer (a possible road trip, a camping trip then a trip to spain) not to mention my weekend habits, lol. I should have a job this semester but to make some extra cash, I want to sell stuff on eBay.

The idea came to me from my local music shops liquidation sale. They are selling not only music really cheap but also stage equipment. They are selling 10 stage lights for 30 bucks. If they are still there, I\'m gonna buy them. Not only because I have an interior decorating idea but on eBay, they seem to be fetching between 30-80 bucks a piece.

What I\'m thinking is buying things at liquidation sales or on Craigs List (when people sell things for too low) and turn around and sell them on eBay and turn a profit. Sound like a good way to make money? Of coarse, I\'m planning to consult my local librarian for books on eBay

Sounds like a good idea. You can also check out garage/yard sales and sell things for way more than you bought them for. For instance, one time I found this Elvis Presley picture in a frame for 25 cents. I bought it and sold it on eBay for 25 bucks. Pretty good profit there. ;)

There\'s nothing wrong with making extra money.

Thousands of people are doing this. No reason one more can\'t.

My girlfriend has made quite a few supplemental paychecks by scavenging yard sales for just this purpose.

It\'s just a matter of time. How much you\'re willing to spend.

I could probably give up my day job if I decided to invest all of my time in selling things online.

I didn\'t even think of garage sales. That\'s a good idea, lol. People have no idea what things are worth. I think I\'m gonna do it. Any good websites on how to buy and sell things on eBay? Or should I just pick up a book?

I know I CAN pick up books, but would I be better off just finding a website? ;) Fuck it. I\'ll go to the library, lol.

BTW, I got my first acquisition for selling. My local record shop is going out of business and I bought 10 stage lights which I saw on eBay go for 80 bucks a pop. I bought 10 for 25 bucks. Either way, I can make a profit off those. I\'m gonna do some interior decorating in my apartment. Not sure if I\'m gonna sell them yet or if I\'m gonna use them.

A dude that was camping in line with me for the PS3 banked 75,000 a year off of ebay.  His main thing was selling used arcade machines.  Anything you can think of to sell someone will buy.
