Title: I bought a new camera today
Post by: videoholic on January 19, 2007, 05:27:40 AM
I just got signed on to do another series and I am going to shoot some underwater footage for it so I bought a Panasonic HVX200.

It\'s a DVCPROHD mini camera.  It can do variable frame rates, 1080i, 720p, 480i, etc....  Some videos I\'ve seen with this thing are simply stunning.

Should be a fun camera to play with.

You can also overcrank to 60fps which should be fun shooting Logan\'s baseball games.

Nice camera! I\'m not envious at all. ;)

Now you can do your own HD porn. You just need a shitload of cards.

I bought a 100gig firestore as well.

And when you shoot your load as fast as I do you only need one 2 gig card. :(

cool, it seems like this HD camcorder record at 100 mbps, which i like.  But I am curious about the image sensor.  How many pixels does each image sensor has and are these image sensors true 16:9 native?

3 CCDs?

I\'m holding off on the Canon GL3 to have HD up to 1080p. Doubt it\'ll be 1080p though.

that HD camera Vid is talking about can do 1080p @ 30fps and its 3 CCDs too running at 100 mbps.  Another cool thing is that the price is affordable too compare to most HD camcorder, of about $6000 msrp.  Of course, you can get it cheaper too.

Any small  HD camera that records on tape has tremendous compression.  This is the only way to go right now.

Camera is 5 grand, but the cards tack on another couple.

I wish I was in on this heist. I bet it was sent to Taiwan or China and a $300 version will be out by this fall. ;)
