Same guy who cracked HD-DVD cracked BR.  Apparently there are two types of BR encryption: the standard protection and BD+, only the standard one has been cracked so the format is not totally unsafe yet.

I don\'t understand 95% of what\'s being said in the article but it\'s just fun to read all that hax0r talk.

Eh. It was bound to happen eventually. I\'d still rather buy the DVD/BR or whatever the next format will be.

What ever is engineered can be un-engineered.  When companies realize this they may stop bothering with protections...
