Ok the AU/UK PS3\'s use software emulation, does this mean they also use some kind of filtering or upres-ing to improve the quality of the graphics?
I downloaded a video comparision from gametrailers.com. If showed a split screen type video, with games such as FF12, Silent Hill, GOW1 etc etc, on the left was the game running on a PS2, and on the right was the same game running on a PS3. The footage on the right was alot crisper, no aliasing, and looked a hell of a lot better then it running on PS2. I now cannot find the video anywhere, and there was no explanation as to what the video was showing, so the above was purely my assumption.
Anyone got anymore info or details? Or, can anyone else find that vid?
EDIT - ok here is a link to the vid http://download.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_ps3_bcrescomparisona_h264.mov
Looks like it DOES infact improve graphics with a firmware update. Anyone actually tried this though?

Wait..is that video comparing the PS2 being playied on PS3 without the update and the same game playied with the update?
Because initially PS3 playied PS2 games slightly worse than the PS2 so they fixed that with an update

kinda - it still looks better on ps2 then it does on ps3 even after the update
you can tell in that video that stuff looks blurry even on right side just not as jagged.
Kinda sucks too considering US ps3 have most of the ps2 hardware in em... and i use higher quality cables on my ps3 then ps2 but still looks worse
oh well

PS3 cannot improve PS2 game graphics as good as the ps2 puts out, even with the firmware update! Man the PS3 has been doiung nothing but let me down since it\'s release.
