Hey, don\'t post here too often, just thought since most threads turn into rhetoric and discussion anyway I could make this thread without having too much heckling...
I\'m just wondering what all my old favorite online buddies are doing at this point of time in their lives?
eh, anyway. Got back in town from the big city (anchorage) on Sunday. It\'s nice to see a real civilization :D I turn 19 beginning of April, excited about that I guess.
Still going to college here in Alaska. It\'s alright, I\'m undeclared. I\'m only taking two classes this semester, I was writing for the school paper but quit, I didn\'t like it at all. I was thinking about becoming a Journalist before but not so sure anymore. I\'m still debating on if I want to become a writer or not...
I don\'t know if you guys knew this or not but I am also an aspiring artist and musician. I\'ve been doing a lot of pencil drawings, maybe I could post some if I get around to uploading them on my computer. Oh yeah, and as for the music I still play the drums but recently bought a Micron synth, and have been playing that quite a bit lately, but have taken a break from it. Hope to get back into jamming and making tunes soon, just need an break to freshen up my inspiration.
I seem to remember Chizzy being a recording artist, maybe I\'m mistaken - I might have a question or two for you concerning recording, if you would be so kind.... :)
We broke the all-time snow record in Juneau this year. 150+ inches, and still snowing. I\'ve shoveled my driveway everyday for like the past week.
Oh, yeah my investments too! It\'s doing very well w/ Edward Jones. It\'s growing exponentially, I\'m really excited for my future - I have so much I can achieve. I took some money out and bought an 360 as well as a 32"HDTV. I\'ve been going with this girl for about 5 months now, she\'s great. She\'s Korean, very beautiful and one awesome cook... :thumb:
Hmm, well I don\'t have much else to say... I know, I use to be quite the immature opinionated prick on these forums back in the day. I\'m hoping everyone can forgive me, I believe I have matured 100 fold in these past few years, a lot of trial and tribulations in my life I don\'t think I want to discuss, possibly if a warm welcome is received, but I know if I share such I\'ll probably just get pummeled with insults.
So how is everyone? :)

fuck off, dickhead!
j/k, whaddya wanna know?

Yeah you seemed to have moved beyond the "dumb enough to randomly die in traffic" stage and moved into the common Joe idiot position. Props for avoiding natural selection for this long! (seriously living like 19 years...is...an accomplishment of general self awareness)
Cmon tell us about your struggles and failures, we will welcome them warmly or whatever. I had an ingrown toe nail the other week...I got it out and it was painful. I shared therefore you have to share now too.

Yeah, I figured something like that would come from here... Why can\'t you just pull the stick out of your ass.
I guess your just insecure about yourself. Life isn\'t about dishing out the best punchlines. Yeah go ahead, I\'m sure you\'ll have something plenty witty to say now. Go ahead, do it, if it makes you feel better - thats what counts, after all you are the insecure one.
Chizzy, what I was wanting to know is if you know anything about midi controllers? I don\'t know what your music experience is, so this could or could not be up your alley....
I have yet to actually start recording, but I have several songs in which I can play near flawless on the keys from start to finish (like any synth, designating certain keys for desired phrases/rhythms/keyboard etc.). For playing them on just a keyboard I\'ve managed to make some pretty good stuff.
Anyway, I\'ve been fiddling with Albeton Live but its so complicated! I got the trial version, and I\'d have to buy the real thing which is super expensive to start actually using it. Any suggestions on some intuitive/ or at least simpler and cheap/free programs?
I know I am going to need to get a midi controller to start recording, I wanted one with a drum pad to allow easier sampling/creating of drum beats. I dunno, I guess I\'m just looking for some pointers in the right direction... sorry about being so vague, but I bought the synthesizer with no previous knowledge of recording/creating electronic/synth music.....
Oh yeah, and I own an Alesis Micron (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan05/articles/alesismicron.htm). Hope you might be able to help.

When did (e) mature? :p
I havne\'t been up to much. Improving in guitar and trying to figure out if I wanna switch my major or not. I\'m also playing lacrosse for the club team at my school and pretty stoked for that. We have 3 games this weekend which is gonna be absolutely insane.

m-audio makes a nice kyboard controller with pads, musician\'s friend has \'em..,ableton is what I use and it is simple as fuck for setting up midi. Either usb or firewire, and that\'s that.

hehe... i understand you were trying to open up, but he was just bustin your chops, he meant nothing by it. rule to maturity #2: don\'t get hot & bothered by the internets. :thumb:
sounds like life\'s going good for you, hope you\'re enjoying it to the fullest will continue down the same road. :thumb: the next step is to post pics of the Korean. :applause:

Tits what major you going for? What kind of guitar you mostly play, particular style etc.? Keep kicking ass at lacrosse, what position do you play? 3 games in one weekend? Hot damn, that is intense. Must be really packing them in....

Hm... So you use Albeton then... I\'d assume you bought it then, its just so expensive - for software too! Chizz what kind of music do you make, I remember hearing a song from your band it was like airplane or car or something soundling like that.... Right on, I\'ll check out m-audio midi controllers and maybe link up one for approval.

I\'m thinking of majoring in radio/tv/film. I major right now in communication studies which is interesting but I\'m second guessing myself. Most of my friends are r/t/f majors and I really have always wanted to make films. I play electric. Currently playing a Schecter Gryphon. I\'m still a newbie to guitar but getting better. Its hard to play sometimes with my schedule. I play midfield in lacrosse but its a club team so its more fun but the games can be scheduled last minute, like this weekend. We weren\'t supposed to have 3 games but 1 but friday and sunday\'s games got scheduled within the past week. We have the same thing happening next weekend too. Much fun.
