Title: R-rated for Smoking?

So maybe because I work in the movie business I hear more about than most but what do you guys think about this new movement to make movies that have people smoking rated-R?

I find it rather insulting to the intelligence of people to say that 300,000 (!) people a year start smoking because they saw someone in the movies doing it.  Thats the stat they are giving.  300,000 new smokers because of the movie biz. http://smokefreemovie.ucsf.edu/problem/studio_surveys.html

I\'m calling bullshit on this one.  There are many things that kids should be shielded from, sex, violence, drugs, but smoking?  If they didn\'t encounter it on a DAILY basis. Sure.  We\'re talking about something that most kids see all the time though.  If you want to stop kids from smoking, get their parents and friends to stop smoking.

I call bullshit. People are just looking for a scapegoat on why people start smoking. Instead of blaming outside sources like movies, people should just blame themselves for starting.

I work for WB, and I guess there is a stat floating around stating that WB KILLS 35,000 people due to influencing them to smoke.  Seriously, this is just as bad as blaming johnny for beating his friend with a baseball bat because he saw it on a video game.

I\'m still in NY, will be here until June.  Weather sucks ass so all the women are covered from head to toe.  6th ave and 53rd, can\'t complain about my location.

Just wait about 3 weeks. Weather gets warmer around this time and women will be more scantily dressed. I cant wait :D
