That was really, really stupid.
I love people who make things and its just completely obvious they dont have one original, creative idea in their head.
-
i didn\'t listen to it with the volume on, but from what i saw i thought it was ok...heh i thought the fight scenes, even tho highly influenced by the matrix, were done pretty well...oh daamn ok...i\'ll admit i did like it...when samus comes out of her armor and i guess master chef gets a spark from between her *as it\'s revealed* legs...i thought that was pretty funny...:nerd:

Agreed, lets steal all of the character designs, all of the animations, and hell the music too. The guy even admitted the whole thing was a cop out but knew it would more popular than if it was original.
-
That wasn\'t halo music it was Neo vs 100 Smiths music
:fighting:
I thought the shield thing was nifty
-
There is Halo music in the piece...either way, outside of a few glimpses of originality all of the animations were easily recognizable, from the Matrix ripoffs to even taking a few from DMC (where he uses the enemy as a surfboard and most of the gunfighting). You can tell they put a lot of time into this, but why? If you have enough talent to do these animations, why not do something original?
-
A one-stop shop for all that work and something is going to be broke in the process. He needed a creative director. :p
-
Pretty good animator, but all that fighting becomes so  already halfthrough.
-
I think it\'s awesome. I never imagined Master Chief being a woman. That\'d be a twist that reminds you what it was like originally with Metroid. But if they did rip them off that bad, it\'d be begging for a cooperative project between Microsoft and Nintendo.
That\'s be an awesome multiplatform game, though.
(A guy can dream) Heh

I guess some people just like to \'play with toys\' without having to deal with the whole creative stuff?

Some preferred Action Man, some preferred Lego\'s...

I can buy that logic, but after reading his post about doing it because he knew it would be more popular than anything original (then complaining that he couldn\'t get a job in the industry) just makes your argument sound hollow to me.

Well I\'m terribly sorry my argument doesn\'t convince you. But actually it was just a general thought, I didn\'t read what the guy specifically said about his work.
If he wants to get a real job, then by all means should he show that he\'s up for it. But if he was just screwing around because he thought it was fun then I see no harm in that. In this case though it seems that he was just being a lazy SOB.

I thought the dance scene at the end was uber shexy.
Almost hard on status.

well, indeed... for a pure 3D animator job it doesn\'t really matter what kind of characters one uses in a demo reel ; as long as it shows animation skills.
The only problem in this movie would be lack of facial animation ; i assume he\'s smart enough to have a seperate demo reel for facial animation.
