I like that their going in a darker direction (obviously) and I dig the idea of facial scarring. But i\'m not sure i\'m feeling the messy lipstick. I\'m gonna reserve judgement until I hear him speak.
-
He looks creepy.
I was one of the few people that really liked the idea when I heard he was going to be joker.
I think hes a good actor.
-
Heath Ledger as Joker?
http://imdb.com/title/tt0468569/
ahhh I don\'t see him as having a crazy ass side but that shouldn\'t be a prob with good direction. Just like the Ahnuld/James Cameron duo
Just throwing this out there but Topher Grace did pretty well w/Venom.. has a quirky, villainous grin. He probably could have pulled off an excellent young Joker.
-
Gotham City is one fucked up hell hole. Even their hero, Batman, is a monster.
I can\'t wait for them to do the "Dark Night Returns" standalone movie. If that ever happens.
-
Heath Ledger described his role as the Joker as "more nuanced and dark and more along the lines of a Clockwork Orange kind of feel. Which is... what the comic book was after: less about his laugh and more about his eyes"
Sounds good to me.
-
Luke is a psycho. So his opinion in that category has merit.
-
i like the look....the lipstick and scars definitely give him a disturbed look....we\'ll see how he turns out....to this day Jack Nicholson was the best joker imo so far.....
-
Wasn\'t he the ONLY Joker so far? Great comparison, clips. :stick:

Was he?...for some reason i thought somebody else played joker,...i\'ll admit after the 2nd and 3rd batman flick i kinda gave up on the franchise....i heard the last batman joint was decent tho...

Well if you want to get technical..

Thats the Joker from the Adam West tv show / movie.
but those aren\'t real Batman movies :) Still tho, they had to go in a totally different direction with the Joker this time around. It is unavoidable that Heath is going to get compared to Jack Nicholsons Joker so with what they are doing its almost like 2 different characters.
Nicholson the over the top comedian with the high laugh and bright purple suit.
Or Heath Ledger with the dark scarred sadistic killer type. More like the Joker from the graphic novel The Killing Joke.
I personally can\'t wait to see the latter in action. As for the face, welll like I said earlier. I just really want to hear him speak. Heath Ledger has a deeper voice then most people and I don\'t see him playing the part with his australian accent. Plus he isn\'t a bad actor at all.
Looking great so far.
-
looks OK they got the psycho look down for him, still would\'ve liked Crispin Glover or Christopher Eccleston. But I think the Aussie can pull it off.
Jack Nicholson as the Joker sucked, he wasn\'t the Joker he was just Jack Nicholson dressed as the Joker in the movie IMO.
-
I was hoping for Crispin Glover way back when the rumour mill was spinning. He has the perfect face for the Joker.

-
Crispin does not age. Maybe he has a real time machine like in the movie he co-starred in from Back to the Future.
-
he hasn\'t aged, has he?
He must have been really young in BTTF
-
That looks ugly. I dont want a Joker who looks like that in the next batman movie

Um...ya know...actors change their voices all the time in movies...a big one is...well...removing their accent.
-
I don\'t really care about the accent, as I said I don\'t see him using it. Despite the fact that it doesn\'t make sense. It was the timber of his voice I was focusing on. Every Joker, weather its Jack or Mark Hammil in the cartoon gives him a a high voice and a squeal or cackle for a laugh.
Thank you for reminding me tho that actors play make believe for a living ;)
-
You\'re welcome. ;)

I agree...
And Crispin Glover would also have been all kinds of awesome as the joker.
-
For the Three Stooges movie Crispin Glover would make a PERFECT Shemp.

He\'s 43 now. And yes...he doesn\'t appear to age.
