It\'s been a while since we\'ve had one of these threads.
So what PC are you running?
I\'m still using that old POS that I wrote about 3-4 years ago. :D
For those who can\'t remember (that would be all of you):
Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz @ 2.7 GHz
Asus P4PE motherboard
1 gigs of RAM
Nvidia 6800 GT
Chieftec Dragon case
I got more HD space over the years though, I have 700+ gb right now. And a 20" ViewSonic monitor.
I\'m looking to upgrade very soon, but I don\'t want to spend a lot, since all the good stuff comes out in 1-2 years. So in the meantime I think I\'ll get a E4400 and overclock it, 2 gigs of DDR2 and a 7900GT.
Then next year or 2009 I\'ll upgrade to Nehalem, DDR3, Nvidia 9800 GTX or whatever.
-
asus p5b
c2d e6420
2Gb ddr2 667Mhz
x1950xt 512mb ddr3
320Gb HDD
haupauge tv card
windows vista home premium
logitech z5400 5.1
mirai 19" widescreen
it does the job....
-
I thought this thread was about pussies.
-
I\'ve had this current machine for over 2 years now, I upgraded the processor, but that\'s about it. Probably gonna upgrade sometime in 2008, does everything I need to do and then some.
Dual Core AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.4ghz
2 Gigs of DDR500 Memory
(1) 250GB Hitachi (sata) & (2) 80GB Seagates (IDE)
eVGA 7900gt (voltmodded)
19" CRT (gonna get a 24" LCD soon... or maybe dual 20.1"s)
Next upgrade will be the latest and greatest.. whatever is better between AMD & Intel. Especially at video editing/encoding. That\'s mainly all I do anymore on it anyway... if I had the money I would really like a C2D system... but i\'m getting by just fine.
-
Intel is going to slash prices July 22nd. Quad core Kentsfield for $266. :)
-
Here\'s my tried & true system, slowly upgraded over the years:
P4 2.8ghz Northwood Core @ 3.4 w/Zalman cooler
ATi x1950Pro w/Arctic Cooler
1GB Kingston DDR400 ValuRam
Asus P4P800-SE
Fortron 400w PSU w/120mm fan
Antec Sonata II Case
Zalman Fan Speed Controller
2 Seagate 400gb HDs
Viewsonic 19" 2ms LCD
I thought I\'d be upgrading to a C2D sooner but I moved to the city and have little time for gaming these days.
-
eh, i haven\'t updated much since i\'ve started school. No point since i don\'t play games much. Will update next year. Currently
Thermaltake Xaser 5 case (modded)
Philips 19inch Flatscreen LCD
Antec Trublue 480W psu
A7n8x Deluxe mobo
3200+ Athlon XP
Kingston 3 GIG PC3200 DDR ram

2 320Gig seagate sataII 16meg Hds
X-Mystique 7.1 Gold soundcard

TV tuner / Capture card
External Nexstar 3 HD enclosure with a 150gig SATA drive.
-

ASUS P5N32-E SLI (IIRC)
Soundblaster Audigy Platinum
eVGA GF7950GT
Apple 23" ACD
I\'ll snap some pics later since the thread is called "show" your pc
Thermaltake Tsunami case
-
Woohoo, I knew nO-One wouldn\'t disappoint. :D
How do you like the Asus board? I\'ve been thinking about getting it, but then I heard some problems with Vdroop or something. (EDIT: My bad, I was thinking about the non-32 version)
And good catch about the title. ;) Although I didn\'t bother to take any photos of my PC because it\'s rather bland looking. Just imagine a greyish Dragon case and you\'re there. :)
-
I have a Mac Pro
2 dual core 2.66gHz
3 gigs of RAM
ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 mb ram
Not sure what kind of sound card it has.
2 wide screen 19 inch LCD screens.
-
Well if we add the Macs
The big one here is a maxed out quad Mac Pro, 30" ACD
Quad G5 maxed out 23" ACD
Dual G4 (last Quicksilver edition) LaCie 22" CRT
15" Macbook Pro C2D
and at work a 20" iMac G5 1,8Ghz that\'s still chugging along
-
Well, then I\'ll add:
MacBook 2 Ghz, 1 gb RAM, 80 gig HD.
-
At the moment i only have my Dell precision M65 notebook workstation.
pic : http://members.home.nl/hkonings/M65_Knot3D%20010.jpg (http://members.home.nl/hkonings/M65_Knot3D%20010.jpg)
15.4 inch non-glare wide screen with magnesium chassis.
Core2Duo T7400 @ 2,16Ghz
2 Gb ram
80Gb 7200rpm Hitachi HD
Nvidia Quadro FX350M
I really love this laptop. The chassis is ultra sturdy. Way more solid than alot of those plastic flashy designer styled laptops. Macbook Pro, you say ? Nice indeed, but those don\'t have a Maya certified Quadro card.
-
I just upgraded a little while ago:
AMD 6000 Dual Core
4 X 1gig XMS Corsair DDR 2-PC 6400
ASUS 7N2N SLI Premium NVidia 570 IL Chipset
Raptor X HDD 150 Gig, 10,000 RPM SATA 3.0 GBT (See-thru Pallet Special Edition)
320 Seagate Barracude 7200 RPM SATA 3.0 GBT
Dual Layer DVD RAM Drive SATA
Zion 600 Watt Modular Power Supply
EVGA HDCP-DX10 DDR3 256 MB 8600 GTS Vivo SLI Capable PCIE
And the Pic attached:
-
Which one? :D
One I should finish building tommorw........
AMD X2 6000
MSI Plantium Neo Board
X1950XT 256
2 gigs DDR
900 gigs storage > all SATA
Floppy Drive
OCZ PSU
Xlico Case
Liteon 16X DVD Burner with LS Tech
Then there is my laptop, iMac and other system I am building for file storage.
The first one should arrive tommorw, at which point I\'ll put it together and let everyone know how it runs. May take some pictures also.
-
Lets see....
Dell Inspiron 9300
Pentium M 1.86GHz
GeForce Go 6800 256MB
80 GB hard drive
1 GB RAM
standard laptop sound card
laptop came with a USB tv tuner, remote
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
TrueLife display
Hey, this computer rocks for a laptop. Its pretty fast for what I do (internet, videos, porn, imaging). I need to free up some RAM and defrag the hard drive and get an external hard drive, but I love it.

shame you got such a nice videocard and such a tiny screen
-
Posting on my new baby right now.
Still working out the kinks.
:thumb:
-
That\'s just the thing the kinks, being a pc enthusiast for a great majority of my life, I have reached the point where I know prefer hardware or a PC that has finises, that is built strong stable and solid, a computer that is made to be 100% productive with ease of use.
There is only one pc that can do this and sadly it the over-hyped of a cult culture, APPLE Computers.
-
It\'s a tiny screen but I look forward to playing Crysis at 1024x768 without a lot of aliasing... :)

I know someone will say its ugly - that\'s fine. I personally love it. Plenty of air, roomy and looks nifty to boot.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
;)
-
That is the biggest freaking fan ever. Sweet. :p
-
careful it doesnt fly through the wall when you turn it on the first time
-
That shit\'s gotta be loud...
-
That shit\'s gotta be loud...
Actually, the bigger fans are often less noisy because they move more air at lower rpm\'s. So a good quality 120mm fan is preferred over 80mm or 92mm fans. :)

-
It has two 250MM fans, two 80MM fans and one 120MM fan. It is actually the most quiet PC I\'ve ever built.
-
It\'s different... I think it looks good
and silent PCs are the bomb... my next build I might try to make as stealth as possible... as many passively cooled parts as I can manage, cause my computer now is loud as fvck
-
I almost went water cooled, but didn\'t want to mess with the added cost. Going to add some parts to this one next week. Most likely a raptor HD for Windows.

My newest case.

Now you\'re just tempting me to say something, you bastard.
Anyone else think it looks like some sort of glowing blue boat?
-
heh. Can\'t even see it where I\'ve put. Tis a shame.
I am switching out the default blue LEDs for red ones. Will leave the blue fans, I guess... Then again, I can\'t see it - so why even bother?
-shrugs-
Best thing about the case is it\'s quiet and has a TON of room.
-
If you can\'t see it why even bother with the LED\'s?
LED\'s are by far my biggest pet peeve with cases, for whatever reason they bug the hell out of me.
-
I like \'em. I will eventually be able to see it, just not at this moment. Plus it came with LED\'s and if I am gonna have LED\'s, I want some red ones.
Already dorked the case, when I added the old 60\'s Batman Logo to the window.
:D
This is my previous case / aka the soon to be file server.

I love that damn little heat trap.
And I have this case in storage. Not sure what I\'ll do with it.

-
60\'s Batman logo? I approve
-
I have some updates that ill post middle to the end of this week. I added another 8600 and I should be getting my 32" and 20" displays. So I\'ll be running 2 19" 1 20" and 1 32"
-
That\'s not enough screen real estate MPTheory. ;)
-
MORE! Must have MORE!!!
-
Here\'s a shitty shot of my setup.
MacPro Quad with 5 gigs of ram. Right now 1.2 terrabytes of storage soon to double.
I have (2) 22 inch monitors for my desktop and my new baby on the left, a 20 inch HD monitor that is fucking sweet. LMD-2050. Very very happy with it. Stunning 10 bit 1080p display.
Then I have a macbook pro that I take on the road, a dual core AMD 64 in another room. My kid has a dell, forget what speed it is, but it\'s prety darn nice. and another laptop that is just gaining dust. I have another computer that I may put in a closet for just music, but they have those network drives now that I may just get instead.

i\'m not into cases and things of that nature...*hence why i hardly ever come in here*...but that is one sweet lookin\' case...:thumb:...and leave it to Vid to shut everyone down with his fort knox/pentagon set-up...:p
-
Thank you, kind Sir.
I should note that within a week, the 250MM side fan shorted out, it sparked and my system refused to boot as long as that fan was plugged in. I contacted Xclio, which is located in Taiwan, within two days they responded and offered to airmail me a replacement fan, free of charge. I haven\'t received it yet, but if they do indeed come through on this replacement, I will give them five stars in the customer service department.
I just picked up an Acerl2002W LCD. Lovin\' the W/S format and finally got rid of the old CRT. Next paycheck, I am looking to add either a 500 gig HD or another videocard. Not sure.. After that, I\'ll start work on my DVR runnin\' MythTV.
-
Changed mind.
Picking up the newest ATI card next check. Not sure what to do with my current card, may sell it.
-
.and leave it to Vid to shut everyone down with his fort knox/pentagon set-up...:p
Mine is for work though so it doesn\'t really count. You aren\'t going to spend 10 grand on a personal computer.
