I\'m helping my friend compile a list of the most annoying songs of all time from any era to put on a mix CD for a contest he\'s doing. Whoever has the most obnoxious mix CD wins (the loser has to do something pretty bad). What songs do you guys find really annoying or just simply piss you off?

I do not entirely agree with that. DM is an awesome guitar player. I still like some of their songs with good guitar riffs that never got much mass market airplay the first time around.
I admit that I am thoroughly sick of their "hits." Even if you liked their songs the first time, they don\'t seem to have much longevity. Kinda reminds me of The Spin Doctors. That stuff got old REALLY FAST.

First of all, I\'m 34, so I\'m old enough to know they suck. Reelin\' in the years makes the Eagles look like grand innovators. Never has there been a more uninspired, lowest common denominator-driven musical project in the history of popular music. Weren\'t they studio musicians? Those guys play off of sheet music for a living, and should never write their own music. Their albums sound like a bar cover band won a contest for free studio time. Just the fact that michael mcdonald sang on some of their shit is enough to discount them completely.
In closing, I hate Steely Dan, and when I hear them, I want to smash whatever device happens to be playing them with a large rock.

I hate Michael McDonald too, but he was only a backup singer for a brief time with Steely Dan, and I honestly can\'t remember a track where I recognized his voice.
Steely Dan was not a hyper-commercialized musical "product" like the Eagles or the Doobie Brothers. Because they were from that time does not mean they are the same as those other bands. I think some of Steely Dan\'s chord progressions made them a little inaccessible to a mass audience.
I guess no matter how good something is, some crazies will always come along and say they hate it. Music is subjective and people are tainted by the experience they had when they first heard a particular band. I\'m sure in a few years we\'ll be hearing that Dire Straits sucks or Yes sucks. Actually they\'ve been saying Yes sucks for years, but their support for that statement doesn\'t carry any weight.

I\'m the exact same way. I get in the mood for a certain genre and I stick with it for a week or so or even a day or so. Just lately I got really into jam bands/psychedelic rock like Phish, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, The Doors, Pink Floyd, OAR. But then again, I\'m listening to a couple modern bands right now that you guys would make fun of me about like Brand New, Midtown etc. I pretty much have a very broad music taste. My mood always feels like a certain genre and I do believe all music needs to be appreciated. Though I rarely listen to rap though I do have some on my computer that I listen to.

When i think of psychadelic music, all i think is pink floyd. i personally get bored with \'psychadelic\' music, which i know ill get ripped for since everyone loves pink floyd
only thing psychadelic about the doors is they came from the 60\'s, which people just lump into a drug/psychadelic catagory

Nah i\'d have to agree with Titan. I personally find the Doors quite trippy and when I think of Floyd I just think of great rock and roll. I have not seen The Wall tho so maybe that would change my mind.

I haven\'t listened to The Doors stoned yet but just listening to their album, I know they will trip me out when I\'m stoned. And Joker, The Wall is insane when you are fucked up. I don\'t remember all the scenes from the movie but I remember being really freaked out, lol.

My former roommate bought this bowl and he was all excited about it until I told him it looked like a penis and then called him gay. I know the drug culture naturally surrounds Pink Floyd but i\'ve always experienced them sober. I\'ve heard your supposed to watch The Wall when your on a hallucnigen and that the dark side of the moon album plays in sync with the wizard of oz. Haven\'t done either yet. Stuff like that tho I want to try with some friends. Ya know, the buddy system. Responsible drug users.

I went to see Roger Waters twice. Both times I was messed up. Unfortunately the second time I saw him, I sobered up by the time he played the Dark Side of the Moon album. His concerts are crazy. I dunno about you Joker but I love buying new pieces. I bought this bowl a couple months ago (because I broke my other one when I was very high) and even went as far as naming it Bob Marley in honor of him. It looked "very bob marleyish", lol. I felt like a kid in a candy store when I first bought and used it. It was the same way with my bubbler. Haven\'t named that except calling it "The Bubbler". I have one of their albums and I think its a greatest hits. Wikipedia said they fall into the psychadelic rock category as well and you know wikipedia pretty much is taken for gold :)

They\'re more mellow than psychedelic rock in terms of their music, but I think the doors can be called a psychedelic rock band as they wrote all their rock music under the influence of psychedelics.
