I finally rented this over the weekend...and i gotta say...it\'s an interesting take on the diamond business.....really is amazing with all that wealth that africa has in diamonds, it\'s people are still living like animals,due to the rebels and gov\'t powers...shame really. *well i guess it\'s not that much different than some area\'s of the u.s. itself* But aside from that i thought Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou executed superb performances throughout the film...i did wanted to see Leonardo nail the love interest of the film,but oh well...much RESPEC to the guys in here that recommended it...:fro:

when i saw the previews and heard dicaprio say something along the lines of "over here its bling bling...over there...its bang bang" i immediately thought it was shit. But i keep hearing good things about it so i might see it. That would be after multiple other movies like the departed that i havent seen.

I\'ve seen Blood Diamond twice now.  Very powerful message. It\'s a good movie, but when it\'s over it leaves you with a sense of "Wow that\'s really ****ed up."

i really want to see this movie, i hear it\'s really good... but i\'m not really sure what it\'s about... does anyone know?

Oh and Blood Diamond is about a diamond smuggler (Leo Dicaprio) and a man who lost his son (Djimon Hounsou) to one of the millitia groups in africa. Djimon was captured and seperated from his son and forced to work in one of the diamond mines and finds a really massive stone. Eventually he and Leo meet up, Leo wants the stone, Djimon wants his son back, the movie is about their journey to retrieve the stone and the boy.

Theres more to it than that, but thats the general main plot of the movie.

My guess is it involves diamonds and Africa. :)

I haven\'t seen it yet however. But I\'ll rent it soon.

Great movie. Would definitely recommend it.
