Title: anyone else liking forza 2?
Post by: kopking on June 13, 2007, 02:16:39 PM
havent been oline much recently, router probs etc... but should be back on soon

just wondering if anyone has got forza???

i norm dont like car games, i get bored of them quite quickly, but...

i really like forza 2, somethign about how i plays, kinda reminds me of whn i first played gran turismo round my mates, and we literally played it all day

hard getting the game off my housemate, as he is playing it lots too!!

just wondered what other peoples thoughts are on it?!

i must sa when i first put the game in, i played arcade, and done the test ring track, and thought the graphics looked terrible, but im not sure if its just that track, and what ever car i was in, as i went on the next race, and a different car, and looked much nicer!!

It\'s a nice game. And the graphics are pretty good, but since it\'s a racing game, it\'s not exactly mindblowing.

I love the paint jobs though. And the handling\'s good. So overall I think it\'s worth it - it\'s the first game in years I\'ve bought on release day. :)

yea, im not to corncerned about the cars, and havent dabbled to much ino the painting of the cars / stickers / decals on them yet.

but there seems to be something about this game i really like.

its nice to see the computer mess up, and not follow the race line excactly, and ocassionly hit each other and crash!!

so far I\'m liking it a lot. I have completed all of the arcade section and I\'m at about 25% through the career section. There\'s something about this game, everytime you need to stop you say to yourself: just one more race and then I\'ll stop. It\'s the mark of a good game ;) reminds me of Gran Turismo a lot, except that controlling the car is more realistic, you really have to go easy on the pedals or else you\'ll spin out of control. I bought the steering wheel to, it\'s fun, but with fast cars it becomes really hard to keep control of them...

It is a good game, and I have relatively few criticisms.  I do think the environmental graphics are great.  The track, the sidelines, the sky...  To me it is nice, and looks great on my HDTV.  There is something about the rendering of the cars that makes them look a little artificial.  Maybe it\'s the reflections or the limited color depth.  I\'m not sure, but there\'s something not quite right about them.

I didn\'t play Forza 1, so I didn\'t know what to expect.  I was surprised by how much they "borrowed" (ripped off) from the Gran Turismo series.  The whole structure of the game, they types of race series that are offered, the way you upgrade your car, and even the camera angles just prior to the race start, are all snatched directly from GT.  I think the developers should have better separated themselves from the competing product.  I think I could dream up a much different game structure that would be a big improvement.

312 I think...

at coredweller: yeah, it reminded me of gran turismo too. Much more than forza 1 did for some reason yet unknown. I can hardly see that as a bad thing though, since I played gran turismo a lot for a reason. The good thing is IMO that it improved the same formula.
