Title: Quality of Life Thread...
Post by: clips on July 05, 2007, 01:15:12 AM
Just wanted to know where and how some members feel about where they are at this time in their life....are you happy, frustrated, satisfied, unsure? whatever the case may be. Me personally i guess i\'m generally happy where i\'am, of course i could always do better but i\'m good where i\'m at right now, course that\'s sayin\' alot knowing where i came from...

After i divorced my first wife and ended up moving back into the projects, the future was not lookin\' brighter at all, i mean i used to stress heavily about gettin up outta that spot, now i have a crib that\'s just under two years old, three generally good-running vehicles and a wifey that\'s ten times better than the my two previous chicken heads i was involve with....i prayed heavily on my situation and not to get all religious on ya\'ll but i think god has answered me in some way....

Only complaint is the usual, i\'m taking on some bills that i\'m currently just tryin\' pay off and it\'s takin\' a bit longer than i would have liked....i guess life in general for everybody is ok, but at the same time with all of this technology we have and all of these advances we as human beings have made, why is it still becoming incredibly harder to make ends meet? i noticed that as far as forclosures are concerned, Georgia was #3 on the list...:ohnoes:....so even in 2007, people are still struggling to make it.

I now know that just because that guy you see in that escalade ridin\' on 22\'s doesn\'t always mean they\'re doin\' great financially and that they could very well be one pay check away from disaster.

I\'m happy, I\'m growing up and finding my place in the world. I have a sense of purpose now.

Also I like to masturbate.

I\'m happy right now. Life is coming together for me. Getting a place of my own, getting married, moving back to where all my friends are, I started my own business...

Things are pretty good. I actually feel like somebody for once. After my near death truck accident last December, things were sort of a blur. But I\'m glad that\'s all over with.

Well life\'s pretty good, I\'m a journalist, write a weekly computer page for a large newspaper, I also do layout, I get free games, consoles and gadgets, I get to play around with games and gadgets before they go on sale (just today played Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Lair and Heavenly Sword) and I have a pretty nice salary. Can\'t really complain.

And I also love to masturbate

My life.... Not so good right now.

The usual shit.. Hate my job, hate where I live, need a 2nd car but cant afford one.

I\'m overweight and its really starting to bother me.

Mostly though, I\'ve gotten away from playing music, and thats the only real thing I\'ve ever loved.

I\'m nearing 30 and it seems my life is literally wake up, go to a job I despise, come home, eat, go to bed so I can do it all over again. I never wanted my life to become that but it seems it has.

I\'m taking steps though. Been jogging everyday, eating better, playing the guitar again and trying to save money to get a 2nd car and get out of this god damn apartment.

To top it off, my new wife just went on a European vacation shes been planning for like a year, and I\'m home alone for 3 weeks. BORED AS SHIT!

And why\'d you put my name in quotes?
Title: Quality of Life Thread...
Post by: Titan on July 05, 2007, 09:31:54 PM
My life is good and yet has its moments. I\'m both chill and stressed here at home. I\'ve unfortunately fallen into a routine of waking up, going to the gym, going to work and hanging out with my girl. But I do see other friends and try to break my routine. I really hate my job and wish I can quit. I\'m in really deep financial shit right now and owe a lot of people money. I\'ve had to stop or slow down hanging out with my friends and stuff to recover some of my losses (especially with my mom trying to get money from me that I owe her). But that aspect is getting better with every paycheck I get. I should have gotten a couple hundred this week.

My girl situation is good and bad at the moment. I\'ve made the mistake and yet blessing of falling for my best friend. We both admit our love for each other but its starting to take its toll. I\'m realizing that it probably won\'t work for us. She\'s going to upstate New York for school and I\'m in South Jersey. We will see each other maybe once a semester. So as of now, we are in an arrangement I like. I still don\'t want a girlfriend because of what happened to my ex. I\'m happy single and like messing around with my friend. We never expected to fall for each other but I guess having sex with someone for a few months has that effect. We decided if it works, it works if not, then that\'s life. We decided to try and find other people at our schools. There\'s a part of me that likes that and another that is unhappy that we may not be together. But I\'m just sitting back, relaxing and taking it one step at a time.

I\'m going to the gym every day and getting a lot stronger. I decided to stop being a lazy stick and get my ass in shape. So far, I like the results. I\'m still 138-140 but strong as fuck. Last time I benched, I did 170. I\'m a lot toner and muscular than I was and even though I\'m still skinny, I feel it is a lot of progress. I ran into one of my old crushes at my friend\'s graduation and she said I looked really good. I ran into another crush at work and she said I was looking good and that she liked my beard. I guess I\'m doing something right. I also have gained a lot more self-esteem that I had lost in the last year. I dunno why. Shock of my life changing maybe but I looked back to how I was in high school. I worked out, had a very positive outlook and was very eccentric with my personality (ie: I was extremely random and said some off the wall shit). I\'ve gained much of that back with a more mature spin to it and people really seem to like it. I still say things that cross the line that people find funny but not as bad. Mostly with just people I\'m close with. Some of the stuff I say to my girl is absolutely crossing the line. Mostly jokes about how she\'s a woman and stuff :)

Well, "Luke", the thing is that is how life is. You\'re going on thirty and if by now, you haven\'t became rich and famous, most likely, you will spend the rest of your days doing mundane labor and just getting by. This isn\'t a bad thing, if you decide to look at it from a different perspective.

I use to hate my job, but then I applied myself to it and have since received a few promotions. Do I wish I was doing something different? Of course, but I realize that in reality, I don\'t have it that bad. This isn\'t to say you shouldn\'t look for another job, by all means, find a job you don\'t hate. I stuck with my job due to the pay and the fact I have a lot of time off to spend with my family and do my hobbies. I typically work three days a week, not counting my three weeks of vacation and other random time off.

Still, "Luke", I can understand what you are going through. I think every person does at one time or another. I still wake up sometimes and wonder how different my life could of been if I had made different choices. Then I look at what I do have and I remind myself to be thankful. You have a gorgeous wife, maybe you should do the same.

i guess you have to look at the glass as it being half full instead of half empty? Tho i do have one question Luke and not to get too personal, but shouldn\'t you guys be enjoyin\' your newlywedingness? I think i\'d have a small issue if i just got married and then my wifey went off on some vacation, that\'s just me tho....i feel you tho on the part about life bein redundant, i\'ve gotten away from startin\' up a clothing line that i was workin\' on....i\'ve already got some designs sketched on a pad and i have my name registered...i just have to get my tax id and later on get my name incorporated...

With me havin\' a family it\'s kinda hard to get back to those things that i personally want to achieve, sometimes people say that you have to sacrifice your dreams for your family,... i really don\'t want to say that is true, but starting up a business or any business for that matter, especially the direction i want to go in, is going to take a lot of capital, but before i can even think about doin\' that, i gotta take care of my #1 priority which is my family...

But it\'s good to hear that you\'re(Luke) getting back to playin\' the guitar and doin\' things you like again....heh just because you\'re married doesn\'t mean your life is over, you just have to find a way to balance it..:)...now that i think about it, maybe the wifey goin\' on her little vay-k is a good thing as it\'s giving you some time to catch up on things you like to do...

For the most part, it is true. You must give up your dreams for a family, the exception being if you already accomplished your goals before a family.

Still, you must find your own time and do things you enjoy.

Well I was in a huge rut 3 years ago.  Hated my job.  Hated my boss.  Hated everything.  It blew nuts and I knew I could do so much more.  I quit my job and doubled my pay by working for myself.  The hardest gutsiest thing I could possibly do, but it worked.

But is my life any better?  More money, yes..  But damn do I ever work a lot.

I don\'t know a job that isn\'t repetitious.  That\'s what jobs are.

All the same, I refuse to accept that.

I don\'t need to just accept this as "the way things are".

Like I said, I\'m taking steps to make the things I dislike about my life disappear.

Be thankful for what you have and get rid of the mindset that the grass is greener on the other side.

Not to say that you don\'t need change, that is a positive step, but there is no reason you should be miserable and changing. You can enjoy your life, realize what could change and make those changes.

I always take heaviest ball and throw it as hard as i can right down the middle.

good technique i know.
Title: Quality of Life Thread...
Post by: Joker on July 10, 2007, 06:12:08 PM
aim for the 5 arrows in the middle rather than the pins themselves and aim for the space on either side of the middle arrow rather than directly ontop of the arrow itself

that way (assuming your playing 5 pin) if you throw it straight, right in that area it will hit the middle pin and the pin on its side. You have a higher chance of sweeping all the pins for a strike.

I use to play in a bowling league as a kid while all the other kids were in football leagues rolling around on top of one another or in a baseball league patting eachother on the ass. Fags.
