Got one of them silver slim PS2s. Now I can box up my old one and forget all the troubles it has given me :) Still some good memories of that one though. Got it two months after launch and did some serious gaming on it.

I got a slim black one about 15 months ago because my old one was playing up.

i didn\'t get mine at launch, but i did get it when they called it the 2nd round or 2nd batch of ps2\'s bein distributed....it still works fine and i also got that waste of time harddrive for it. i really only purchased it so i could see video playback of the halftime show in 2k5 football. congrats tho...

i still have the original ps2.. working perfectly. Mainly because i use a pc harddrive on it and the lens is barely used.

I had the disc read error, cleaned the lens and it worked for a while. Then it just got worse and I would clean the lens or adjust the laser height but eventually it just wasn\'t working.
I haven\'t had the chance to open the slim PS2. I\'ve been busy packing for school. I got it right as I\'m getting ready to go back to school so I couldn\'t really open it up and hook it up then box it back up. I bought a game with it too but I\'m so tired I forget the name of it and its packed away right now, lol.

PStwo\'s are sturdy. My little nephew bumped it ( once side going up in the air by a feet height ), i had it all the while traveling to Vancouver to Houston and back to Euroland.
I personally have never experienced any supposedly craptacular Sony console quality.
