Title: Non-mainstream movie recommendation go here.
Post by: GmanJoe on September 05, 2007, 08:21:55 AM
I just saw "Rabbit Proof Fence"

I liked it. Unlike Rambo, this one is based on a true strory. Half caste children of Australia are considered wards of the state (don\'t know if that phrase works for you Aussies) and are to be pretty much taken from their Aboriginal parents and educated by the government for...oh I dunno...domestic duties and stuff. Well, these three young half caste sisters are taken away from their mummy and driven over 800 miles to their new home, an orphanage.

They escape and have to use all their aboriginal skills passed on from their mother to avoid being captured by the school\'s own aboriginal tracker. Quite an adventure.

Sorry, guys. No nudities here.

Another movie I recommend is "Brotherhood of War". It\'s a South Korean movie version of "Saving Private Ryan" but IMO, better. I think THX saw it but he never bothered to comment, prolly due to the lack of male nudity.

Amores Perros should be required viewing.
the de facto film for intertwined plots.

and High Tension....intertwined plots in that movie are an understatement...whoever edited the movie must\'ve been a 5 year old, cause there were loopholes all over the place....surprisingly there\'s a good movie to be found, if you can get over the somewhat erratic loopholes.

A south Korean horror/drama movie called Tale of Two Sisters is pretty cool. It\'s a bit confusing at the first viewing, but it has some chilling moments and some neat surprises.
