Dang. How do I explain to my wife I need a new gadget?
But did anyone se the iphone price drop happening? Holy shit. 200 bucks off in only 10 weeks? That\'s unbelievable.
-
That looks absolutely sick. I think I found my next mp3 player. Gotta start saving up some money.
-
That is an outrageous price no matter how you look at it. They want $300 bucks for a friggin\' an 8 gig MP3 player. For that kind of money, you could get an "Ipod Classic" with a 160 gig HD.

fuck ipods
creative zen vision M all the way.
-
Wife owns an iPod (shuffle) that I bought for her. It isn\'t bad by any means, but I most certainly do not understand the hype about it. Also repaired a generation 1 iPod this past week, first time I ever used one and I can see how they caught on, but I still can\'t grasp the mentality that we need a new iPod update every year or so.

Meh. I\'ve had Creative mp3 players and I\'m not impressed with the quality. I\'ll take an iPod over a Zen Vision M any day.
EDIT: I just checked out this (http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/29/creatives-16gb-zen-gets-reviewed/) Creative player and it seems pretty nice actually. I like the SD slot and divx.

Lol, the Shuffle is pretty weak and not really what I\'d call an iPod. Especially the older ones, at least the new one is really small.
The iPod Touch and iPod Classic\'s where it\'s at. And the new Nano can play video now as well! Pretty damn nice for $149.
-
Oh and to actually comment on the iPod Touch itself - it\'s pretty fucking nice. I love the large screen, wifi browsing and music store, the interface, the thickness (or lack thereof). It has just one flaw IMO - the capacity. I\'ll wait for a 32 or 64 gb version. Then it\'ll be perfect.

I was more floored about the 200 dolar price drop on the iphone. That\'s the ultimate fuck you to the early adopters.
-
thats why i waited for an iphone.... i always knew i was going to get one eventually.
im still gonna wait though.
-
thats so ballin

Slick interface, not worth the price tag. Unless of course you\'re some hipster idiot that apple likes to gear its market towards. HEY GUYS LOOK AT ME AND MY NEW GADGET ISN\'T IT SOOOO COOL AND EXPENSIVE!
I\'d rather get the classic, less frills, longer battery life, and not a thief magnet. Keep in mind I got to a design school where everyone likes to permanently give verbal blow jobs to apple all day long. I\'ve become so jaded to their products since going here.
-
For me I think it\'s real slick, but the darn thing would get scratched up so quick it ain\'t even funny.

Apparently they are giving a 100 bucks back in store credit to those early adopters.

Nice way to step up and take some of the heat off. Great PR move by Jobs.

The glass used is pretty damned durable actually, I saw a bunch of scratch tests on the iPhone and the thing never showed a mark.

I wonder how they do that. Is it something they put on top of the glass?
-
i think it might have to do with chemistry. All those 100ish table of elements. if you are a chemist major, you might have a better understanding of how to use element that can created glass that aren\'t easily scratchable.
-
I heard it was magic actually, Steve himself blesses every iPhone with scratch resistant mojo
-
It\'s his "magic juice". He sprays it all over each iPod.
-
it\'s the same substance used on the anti-scratch dvd\'s. Matter of fact a new more durable anti-scratch was recently just made in preparation for future blu-ray recordable discs.

Is it sad that I thought of the exact same thing before I read your post? I need to get laid more often :(
