gamespot said it was a rumor. Most conclusive thing they could come up with was that now that the halo trilogy is done, it was imaginable for some of the developers to start their own, multiplatform company

coming from a huge \'halo is overrated\' guy (myself), with a group of friends, multiplayer is getting to be fun as hell. coop i only really like with my brother since everyone else pisses me off with just running around.
I still think its overrated since people are absolutely insane about it, but its definitly a lot better than i first felt.

I guess Halo was made for multiplayer in the end. Which sucks because thats the halo I grew to love. I loved the single player Halo and i\'ve been playing Halo 3 for the last couple of days. Is it overrated? oh my lord yes...Sorry but the single player can be beaten in 1 day if you really wanted to go after it.
I used to love Halo, I think theres a post somewhere on these boards where I refer to Halo 3 as jesus on a disc. All through September I was going through withdrawals over selling my 360, first with Bioshock then I thought Halo 3 would make me go buy another console just for it.
Now that i\'ve actually played it. It was alright...but a whole lot of meh. I don\'t care what people say, Xbox Live is a cesspool of spoiled fucking brats and the fact that i\'m forced to talk to them rather then type makes me hate it even more. Fuck multiplayer. I\'m sure its great, if I have 2 tv\'s and 8 friends over. As for xbox live....I honestly don\'t have the faintest idea why people gush over it.

The people that gush about live are the people that only discovered internet gaming 2 years ago. Really though, ALL internet gaming is a cesspool of worthless twats. Its why people have friend lists and play online with them exclusively.
With that said, I haven\'t really gotten into Halo since the first one and I haven\'t had the chance to even see the 3rd one in action, but I don\'t doubt the multiplayer is extremely fun if you get the right people together.

not all online gaming, mainly just console gaming. There are douches on pc, no doubt, but ANYONE can buy a console. Not nearly as many people can build a pc good enough to run current games, and for the most part the majority is definitly a lot better than the bitches i run into on live.
The key to live is playing with people you know, then it\'s alright. PC on the other hand i can hop into alone and still expect non-frusterating bullshit.

Live is nowhere near as bad as you guys are making it out to me. Is it worse than normal PC gaming? Sure, but it isn\'t *all* that bad. I can play Live without becoming annoyed.

I played WoW for over a year and a half and definitely find that there are more assbags online with consoles. Although, I think some of that comes down to the game in general. Take for example a fan video from Final Fantasy Online as opposed to a a video from, lets say SOCOM. (I only use FFonline because its both on PC and Console). The FF video will be some cutesy little music video with ENYA playing in the background Where a video from SOCOM will have Disturbed blasting while showing a clan blow eachother up with Claymores and granade launchers.

There is nothing being said on Live that you won\'t hear while playing any online game on the PC. If you think there is, I suggest loading up QuakeWars, WoW or CS:S and listen to the crap said there.
Microsoft will retain an unstated equity interest in Bungie, and will continue a publishing agreement between the developer and Microsoft Game Studios for Halo intellectual property as well as other future properties developed by Bungie – corroborating reports that Microsoft will hold the “first right of refusal” for an unknown number of titles.
The key being MS retains rights to Halo - the only game Bungie is known for. Honestly, this was a dumb movie on Bungie\'s part, as I would say Halo was more a flash in the pan success .

I can\'t imagine they\'re too worried. If they never get out of the shadow of Halo they\'re still filthy rich. I don\'t see them doing anything but we\'ll see.
