Title: winamp 5.5
Post by: Titan on October 21, 2007, 08:18:10 PM
I downloaded it a few days ago and I\'m really impressed. I like how everything is laid out. It puts everything in my library in one window with ease (which was a problem I had with past version...i could just be dumb). I like the browser feature. I still use an actual web browser but I log onto guitar tab websites so I don\'t have to keep flipping between winamp and Firefox to play songs and tabs and stuff. I just really like the way its layed out. Anyone else have this version?

EDIT: I\'ve been playing around with the shoutcasts. There\'s some pretty cool radio and tv stations. BTW, for you pervs, there\'s a lot of porn shoutcasts out there. I\'m really liking the radio stations though. I really wish I found this stuff on the older versions, lol. I just used Winamp to play music and not all the bells and whistles.

WinAmp\'s music organization sucks balls. I can\'t stand it. I just use iTunes with the FoxyTunes add-on.

I don\'t like the new winamp 5.5... too bloated for my tastes.  And i\'ll never use itunes again (it re-wrote all my song tags and created duplicates of certain songs... and just fucked my mp3 collection up.)

Oh and Titan, winamp has had the shoutcast channels for years now :running:

I\'m gonna keep using the old winamp and uninstall 5.5.  Just want something simple with a small memory footprint... that\'s about it.

Not totally related... but I just got a Zune the other day and it\'s pretty sweet (love the big ass screen, put a bunch of movies on it already).  The software is pretty simple to use, and 30 gigs for 90 bucks ain\'t bad.  Just bought one for the wife for christmas too so I can get mine back.

If you convert all the ID3 Tags to the latest version, that doesn\'t happen...

And I hate Foobar.

Foobar looks like a dog shit all over the screen. Itunes ftw.

^^

I agree. I\'ve never seen such a shitty interface. Low memory footprint? The diarrhea on my screen isn\'t worth it. If you\'re having trouble running a fuggin\' music program, buy more RAM or something...seriously. I\'ve been using iTunes since the day it came out and I\'ve had no problems with it.

I know but I finally understand how it works (and actually tried to get it to work :) )

You can put the old look back on if you want. I did that for a day because my first impressions of the new look were bleek but then i switched it back and started to play with the new look and really turned out to like it.

Foobar does look like shit at 1st, but it can be customized to look pretty sweet :)

I don\'t use it for it small memory footprint. I use it because it is not intrusive. You don\'t have adds or link to stupid music store everywhere~

I use it because you can customize your library to display the way you want it (you are not forced into what iTunes forces you to). I like it because there are hundreds of plug-in that you simply add or remove if you like or are tired of them.. unlike iTunes where you are stuck with the package they want you to use.

again, I dont know how you guys can say this look like shit:

you can even make it look like iTunes~ with all the good from Foobar minus all the retard suckness of iTunes.

I don\'t have that in iTunes either. It seems like you\'ve toyed with iTunes for about 3 minutes.

And yes, those skins still look like ass to me. I\'m glad you found a music player you like. You don\'t have to try so hard to get us to like it. Just enjoy it.

It looks cool but I see nothing to merit a download for me.
