Post by: Viper_Fujax on November 11, 2007, 11:03:20 PM
Im bored and it\'s been long enough since the last one.
Serj Tankian Metallica The Haunted Lamb of God The Doors Ben Harper- dude\'s awesome..go youtube him. Unfortunely he\'s way better live, so I havent bought any of his cd\'s. Live, it\'s mainly acoustic so his slide guitar songs are amazing..but when he gets in the studio, he adds too much electronic stuff. kind of ruins the vibe

Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin
Just can\'t get enough of plant, page, bonham, and jones these days. If I had children I would trade them in a heartbeat for tickets to see the reunion gig, and yes...I know they are age 59,61,63 and that they won\'t sound nearly as great as they did in 1971. But come on...its Led Zeppelin!! this stuff is timeless.
Mothership is composed of really American friendly songs and doesn\'t have gems like Tangerine or Rain Song or The Battle of Evermore on it. Good thing downloading songs isn\'t illegal in Canada ;)

Oh and this song i\'ve been listening to a lot lately. Classic rock sound, obviously heavily influenced by AC/DC minus the greatness of the Young brothers but I still like it

Foo Fighters is what Dave Grohl would have done if his stuff was performed with Nirvana. He wrote a lot of the songs the Foo Fighters play now when he was living with Kurt Cobain and during the Nirvana days. Marigold was written when he was playing around with his guitar while living in Cobain\'s apartment.

Drummer\'s always annoy the crap out of me..i\'ve yet to see a drummer that\'s able to sit behind their drum set and not play. would drive me insane when im trying to talk to our guitarist but none of the 3 drummers could sit still and not play. That goes for all drummers, which is probably why grohl didn\'t get any say in Nirvana...thought there was a point to that whole rant

the \'psychosocial\' title repeats way too many times in the song ; the mid tempo beat reminds me of a Shania Twain song = lack of climax.
\'All hope is gone" is way better.

I felt that way too the first time i heard the songs..but psychosocial just grew on me a lot more till i liked it more. All hope is gone just used the chorus too much, while psychosocial kept it to just repeating it 4 er 5 times
But i am definitly hoping for more fast beats in the rest of the album. someone pointed out his korn experience made him slow down his beats and play heavier, which doesnt fit slipknot

I\'ve never given Coheed and Cambria a listen before, but you all sure do seem to love \'em.
I do like that the singer/guitar player plays an Explorer, so I\'ll give them a shot just because of that.

ok I\'m back to report I have given Coheed and Cambria a good listen. No thanks... although the suffering is a catchy little pop rock tune. And I stress POP-ROCK. If I were a 13 year old girl I would dance to that song.

the sword kicks ass.
theyre touring with metallica and lamb of god.
ended up buying the slipknot album. definitly better than the last one, but still sounds more similar to subliminal than the others. but corey\'s voice has managed to get better. this chorus is pretty good.

new gojira album is awesome. definitly buying it the day it comes out
tough to pick just one song from the album but this one\'s good
(they took the other one down)
in order of all these new albums i\'d say: 1)Gojira 2/3 tie) Metallica/Slipknot 4) The Haunted
haunted album is alright but wasn\'t enough new sounds to make it stand out from anything else theyve done..was a little too safe

after they made ashes, i saw a bunch of interviews of them saying stuff like "were a live band and we want that to show in the next record"..then they made like 5 songs where they went out of their way to make parts in the song where the crowd could chant along with them at certain parts. just came off cheap and not fun to listen to...im not hearing any of those parts on these songs
make the cd and the crowd will find good parts to yell to. like in laid to rest, i guarantee when they made the song they didnt plan for the song live to be like "see who gives a...." and the crowd yells "FUCK".

i never really listened to them. The few times i did the vocals were a bit too death metal-y for me. people who dont like metal dont hear a difference but the death metal vocals always kill it for me. the guitars are good though.
for me, right now, its between the haunted and gojira..gojira\'s ahead just because theyre more innovative
rememberance on page 3\'s beat at the end is kick ass

My friend\'s band finally put together a full cd. Still going to be a little while till the cd\'s themselves are in production. It\'s not some shitty demo either, the production is really impressive for an unsigned band. The quality takes kind of a hit by being on the site, the full cd sounds better
I might be biased since I\'ve followed them since they started (my brother was one of the people that started the band, but left because he had other obligations with his kid and job), but I really dig their stuff.
Takes a few times listening to anything to really get songs, which is unfortunate since a lot of people seemed like they rated the songs after one listen, hence the pretty low rating. But i\'ve listened to the whole album a bunch of times and im still not tired of it...not sure why theyre only allowed 3 songs on that site.
but it\'d help them to sign up on the site and rate them if you got time to kill

keepin the thread alive. seems like I ignore songs people post but i listen to them all..and that rafter-no fucking around song wayyy too many times, lol.
Anyway, this song finally got uploaded by someone. The singer\'s voice takes some getting used to, but if you get into how he sings you can tell how much he puts into it.

been obsessed with off-tempo type of stuff. Couple periphery songs i\'ve been listening to a lot. The vocalist is terrible so I recommend staying with the instrumental songs
