wasn\'t Mr Bungle a primus offshoot?  I know they were funky. I had a friend 15 years ago who was briefly in one of those bands...Primus always sounded like Les Claypool was throwing his bass down the stairs to me.. but what do I know?

to be honest, things seems to going v well for me at the mo!!!

lost my job at the summer... was a crap job, working in a music store.... nothing to do with what i went to colleg for (engineering), took it as a stop gap, and some how got stuck there for almost 5 years... was fun at first, not so much after...

now am a carpenter....lol, still nothing to do with what i went to college for, doing loft conversions, seesm all good fun, and like working hard... pays pretty good, and will only go up the longer i have been there...

might be getting sent to college once a week after xmas!

have meta  really nice woman... only been together about 2 months, but knew her in school, though hadnt seen her for ages... and bumped into her out during the summer, went out a few times with her a afew of her mates (some i knew) and one night , stuff happend!!

only lil prob is the place im living,

not to bad, was living witha  mate, but he decided to buya  house... so i had to move out, and was during the time i didnt have a job for about 2 months, so hard to look for  new place... its coming up to xmas now, so maybe after ill move ou somewhere, but gotta find someone to move with, once i geta  bit of a payrise, gonna start thinking about buying a house and all that

sorry if that makes no sense, or is way more than you wanted to know... but eh.... what you gonna do

Well, you make not prefer the style of music, but you can\'t deny the slap-wankeriffic chops of Mark King:

And, before the "Flea" craze, one of the forefathers of slap bass Larry Graham:

Claypool has a couple other bands that you might like.

One is called "Sausage" I think.

Have you tried Primus? It is my understanding, that nothing sounds more like Primus.

Look for some bands and albums featuring Bootsy Collins.  I recommend this album to start with:

Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis)

Eventually Les Claypool recorded an album with some of the musicians from Praxis, and it\'s very good:

The Big Eyeball in the Sky

Man, are they ever young in that video. Awesome band, and incredible over-driven bass tone.
