Singer-songwriter Dan Folgelberg died of cancer on Sunday (Dec. 16) at his home in Maine. He was 56. Fogelberg had several hit records in the 1970s and \'80s, fueled by soft-rock hits like \'\'The Power of Gold\'\' and \'\'Leader of the Band,\'\' a tribute he wrote to his father, a bandleader. His last record was 2003\'s Full Circle, his first album of original material in a decade. He was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer a year later. He is survived by his wife, Jean.

Auld Lang Syne?
Longer Than?
Leader of the Band? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy3GHCy49Dw&feature=related

He was the last of the James Taylor, Jim Croce type ballad musicians.

GOOD RIDDANCE!  Everytime I even think of that song "longer", I have it stuck in my head for a week....

That\'s coz deep inside, Chizzy liked this song. He imagines himself running like a ballerina in slow-mo in a field of barley whilst he listens to this.

Auld Lang Syne is one of my favorite Christmas songs (technically, it\'s not even a Christmas song).

When was the last time Dan folgerberg made a hit?

And he doesn\'t have to make a hit. He will live off fire and rain and all that other stuff for the rest of his life.

YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD HIS MUSIC? Did you live in the boonies or something? His stuff was played out by every soft rock station in the late 70s.

I don\'t remember much about Dan Fogelberg songs because every time I hear one I start feeling very sleepy.  I usually snap awake a few minutes later with a pain in my neck, and no memory of the preceding events.

Core is right.  His songs are easily forgettable.  Maybe that is why I don\'t know who he is.
