at least it\'s biofuel...

Most diesels nowadays can use biofuel or be converted over very cheaply. This isn\'t exactly a major feat for the Hummer. The military has been using biofuels for a while in their Humvees. Burns just like diesel. Did you know that the first diesel engine was run on peanut oil?

Do they still use leaf springs?
In all honesty I don\'t know. They may still use them on pickup trucks. I know my dad\'s pickup has leafsprings int he back. Granted the truck is 10 years old so that really can\'t be used to answer this question :)
