Well it seems the legendary FF spin-off for the SNES has illustrated to us both it cult classic value and place in history if people are willing to pay in the thousands for an unopened seal mint condition cartridge.

Personally I never had the chance to play this game back when i owned a SNES the only RPG i played then was FF and mario. I wonder though, those whom have played CT, what do you think of it\'s playability/enjoyment value today? Is it far outdated. I am sure This must be available to play on a PC emulator.
-
wow. Who would bought that at a price tag of $1,231? Must be some rich millionaire or something to do that without worry about the cost.
-
Or a nerd who has some extra cash to throw around.
-
Final Fantasy Chronicles, you get FFIV and Chrono Trigger. It was released for the playstation. It was a greatest hits so you can probably find it still for 20 bucks. Definitely worth playing at least once if you like RPG\'s. Nowhere near worth the value that people pay for an SNES cartridge though.
-
It was a great game. That great? No, but who am I to judge? I\'ve spent a few hundred on a single game before.

Good points being made there. I have forgotten about the FF Chronicles which also has Chrono Trigger on it and better graphic facelift and CG FMV.
Yeah, it does seems like the buyer gets owned buying Cartridge Chrono Trigger for over 1 grand.

Mind telling us what game it is that you bought for a few hundred bucks?

Let\'s see.
I\'ve bought...
Steel Battalion ($300)

Radiant Silvergun ($150) - Mint
Ikaruga (IMPORT) - ($100 - I think)
Dracula X (Import / Saturn) - ($100)
And I don\'t even know all the import Saturn titles or import DC titles I spent around $100 on a piece. I will say that I easily spent over five grand on my import Saturn collection. I won\'t even get started on import Dreamcast titles or obscure Virtual Boy titles. And don\'t even get me started on how much I spent collecting all the various versions of Street Fighter.
Few pictures of various games I love that are marked as *rare*.

Not to mention I own all the Capcom fighting games and a few of the RAM carts.

I also own all the Capcom fighting games for the Psone, but honestly, if you were playing them on the Psone instead of the Saturn, you were missing all the fun. The Psone versions are missing frames of animation, music sucks and the list goes on. If you are serious about your Capcom love, it only makes sense to import a Saturn.
I have the house to myself tomorrow, I may dig out of my collection and take some pictures.

Sure you aren\'t gonna beat off 5 times during the day? That\'s what I usually do when I have the house to myself.

That\'s also what you do when you don\'t have the house to yourself.

Chrono Trigger is still enjoyable today. It\'s dated well, IMO. Worth checking out.
-
Raz,
how about Castlevania: SOTN? is the Saturn version better than the PSX?
-
Well it seems the legendary FF spin-off for the SNES
Not a FF spin off.
-
hehehe...
-
Chrono Trigger is one of the best J-RPGs ever made. Period.
But is it worth $1231? Maybe if you\'re rich and stuck on a desert island. No single game I\'ve played is worth $1231.
Certainly not one as common as Chrono Trigger.
-
They\'re obviously not buying it to play the game, Blade.
I payed a couple hundred dollars for an unopened DC version of Shenmue 2 still in original packaging..
..then my roommates went through my room one day and opened it up to have a game.

Take it they weren\'t your roommates much longer after that.

Didn\'t get around to unpacking it all, in fact, I slept around 20 hours. Was quite nice. With that said, I know when we buy a house this year, part of the deal is that I either get a bedroom or the basement for my game room. Once that happens, everything will be unpacked and back the way it should be - hooked up to two TV\'s, walls lined with various games and toys. Ah, a man\'s room. Damn apartment is just way too small for such things.

Some people have far to much money to Squander.
-
That\'s fucking ridiculous. $499?!
For one of the best 2D games ever, but still...
-
All I know is, my first house warming purchase will be either a Street Fighter Alpha or Killer Instinct working arcade machine. Which means, I\'ll end up spending at least $1,400 + for a single game.
-shrugs-
-
how about just give $1,400 to me.:p
-
Get a job, bum.
;)
