I was so convinced on spending my tax refund on a guitar and waiting a while for a ps3, but basically getting MGS and a rumble controller for free might be a little too good to pass up.

I\'m glad they\'re gettin rid of that siaxis bulls**t,...i\'ve always liked the rumble controllers....unfortunately i\'ll probably have to purchase both mgs and the dual shock separately since i already have the unit,...army of two, heavenly sword and now mgs and that obscure 2 game are currently in my lineup...this gaming thing is gettin\' a bit expensive....but i think this bundle was a good move by sony,...
I still think that 500.00 is still kinda steep 2 yrs goin\' in and i realize what you\'re gettin\', i just think sony could cut that price by 50 bucks at least.
-
i thought the rumble controls keep the six-axis. just took them a while to make one that didnt get affected by the rumbling.
500 bucks is steep, but considering what\'s inside it, thats what they have to charge. The loss would probably be way too big to make up in games and accessories..even if a price drop is modest, like 50 bucks, thats giving away one ps3 for every 10 consoles sold

Sweet. I\'ll definitely be getting this bundle when it comes out.
-
Great. Glad i didn\'t buy a PS3 yet :thumb:
-
Sweet. This will sell a shit-ton of units in Europe. Smart move.
-
I was under the impression that the Rumble controller kept the sixaxis feature too.

DUALSHOCK 3
The final piece of big news coming out of DPS is another much-requested release date: SCEA will introduce the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller for the first time in North America in April 2008 for $54.99 (MSRP). Compatible with more than 100 PS3 games, DUALSHOCK 3 has both rumble and motion-sending SIXAXIS technologies. So now you’ll be able to play Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and, yes, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots with rumble turned ON.

Correction, it took them a while to get over being snubbed in the lawsuit.

Yeah - anyone remember Sony it wasn\'t possible to put motion control and RUMBLE in one controller? We see that isn\'t true now.
-
the old rumble, yes.
the tech in dualshock 3\'s is different.
-
its advanced rumble
small animals run around inside at appropriate times

I\'m sure it is, they don\'t want to infringe on any more patents.
...Never saw the use for rumble, big giant gimmick if you ask me. Only game i\'ve been told its worth a damn for is Rez.

adds to the games for me. Rumbling when getting hit hard in madden, shooting the shotgun in mass effect. I\'d definitly rather have rumble if there was an option

Whatever the \' rumblings \' about rumble :gfight:

I prefer the existence of rumble than not having it at all. But surprisingly none of my friends or I seemed to miss it when playing PS3 games, and I forgot all about it when playing 360 games as well. Some of them didnt even notice the absence of it until I told them it wasnt there due to a patent infringement with immersion.
Some games though do seem to need the rumble. Gran Turismo for example gives you information about the terrain and your control. The MGS games also used rumble creatively.

If I am not mistaken they are using technology provided by Immersion for DS3.
