How did that "I" sneak in there? Conspiracy

I agree, I said this last year. It seems that most great games coming out for PC, end up on consoles.
-
I don\'t know about that,...it\'s true that alot of games for the pc are bein\' released on consoles..*mostly xbox*...but i think that there are certain games that pc\'s will always lock up,....like alot of those strategic games and those weird dungeon and dragons type games.
-
I lost a lot of hope on pc gaming when R6: lockdown came out
now Dice has said fuck you to pc people and are only releasing the next battlefield on console..theres supposedly a bf3 being made for pc but ill believe it when its a good ways into production
-
I love PC gaming. Too many knuckleheads on console multiplayer. The only console game I play online is Tekken and consequently it\'s also the only time I\'ve received messages calling me a f@ggot, n1gger, pussy, etc... You do that in a PC game and you get banned from the server.
You can also hook your PC up to your theater so while the consoles are playing COD4 at 1120×630, there\'s the option of playing at 1900x1200+ if you have modern hardware.
Plus PC games can be modded by fans for far more replayability, cost less ($10 less than console games + free add-ons), have more variety, and the control scheme is better for FPS\'s, RPG\'s, & RTS\'s.
BUT, I still like consoles for certain games. :D Couldn\'t imagine playing Zelda, Street Fighter, or a number of others on a PC.
-
In theory consoles have the upper hand because of the fixed price. But I find that playing TF2 and COD4 is so much better on PC. Hell, any shooter for that matter.
-
pretty much all games play better on pc.. if u have the $$$ which most don\'t.
-
all games that make use of keyboard and mouse yea
i have always hated platformers and rpgs with a non overhead view cuz imo that control scheme falls short of controllers
sure you could hook up a controller to the pc but now and now most days the same could be said about consoles and the only reason not all games dont use it is the devs not the console limitations themselves
the one true advantage besides control scheme with consoles imo is that the architecture is the same in all of them and therefore you don\'t run into so many problems you do when having to tweak and release patches for such and such video card or driver or os and so on that u get with pc. Optimization is easier when everyone uses same stuff.

problem with PC games is lack of polish. Just about every game that are release need a patch to be playable.

bullshit. I\'ve got plenty of games running fine without patches.
I have 32 pc games installed on my hd atm. Gothic 3 is the only game that has problems.
Either you don\'t play pc games or just have a really outdated pc.
Yes most games get patches, mostly these days for mp server issues.

It seems to me plenty of console games need patches too.

not quite as desperatly
STALKER was in pretty bad shape with CTD\'s when they first released it
It\'s because everyone has different computers, and theres only one console
-
Doesn\'t this argument come up every few years or so? PC gaming will always have certain niche markets and it will always have people willing to shell out major money for those graphic hogging games. Its clear though that consoles are going to have the majority of games, its just easier to make money on consoles.
Until a console gets a game like WoW, the PC has nothing to worry about.

It might just be me, but most every new Xbox 360 game seems to be needing a patch sooner or later, mostly in order for MP to work properly. So it\'s definitely not just a PC thing.
And Phil it right, this argument is old. The PC industry was dying 10 years ago, yet there are 8 million WoW players and thousands of games released on PC every year.
-
PC gaming will never die.

that might be true, but installing a patch on the 360 is done almost automatically, you only have to choose yes when asked and it\'ll cost you ten seconds to wait for it to download. Not much of a hasle to me...

It might not be a hassle to you, but a patch is a patch. Regardless of the system.

To me, the problem with patches seems to be that they\'re inconvenient in that it requires you to actively search for it install it and hope for the best it will work and if not having to find a way around it. Console patches can hardly be called inconvenient...
-
Many games will automatically download the right patch, kinda like consoles. It\'s not a problem in my book. :)
-
If you\'re a lazy piece of shit, then yes... it\'s a problem. If you have testicles and a spine, then it really isn\'t an issue... you fuckin\' pansies.
-
yea, why download patches that resolve more issues when you can continue to play games with bugs (consoles and pcs)
-
Steam fixes much of that (auto patch updating) if it\'s really an issue. And like Sammy said, most modern games have an update option right in their menu.
