In other words do you think we\'ll see two games from say the res. evil series...or the metal series,halo.....i remember back in the old ps days, we used to get yearly versions of the resident evil series,...tomb raider was another yearly update and tekken.....but with the complexity of todays consoles,..i think we may get like maybe 2 episodes of the big name franchises....but konami did put out those two metal gear games on the ps2,..so i guess it all comes down to the developer,...but the way games are takin\' longer to come out, it seems that major AAA franchises may only get a single showing,...
Maybe development time will be cut in half with the dev\'s gettin to know the tech better and middleware, but it seemed like by the time dev\'s are really in full swing with the consoles it\'s time for the next generation of consoles to be released.....thought\'s?

I\'m guessing that we won\'t. Development time and budgets have went up and this is causing developers to really stretch their franchises out. At most, I think we may see two Resident Evils and only one Metal Gear Solid.

RE sucked, they put shit together and people bought it because they were stupid. Tomb Raider too.
True AAA games take longer to make, years. On PS3, probably longer.

Raz pulls knife.
Cuts Jumpy.
Raz wins.
Resident Evil pulls knife.
Cuts Tomb Raider.
Resident Evil wins.
See a connection?
;)
Resident Evil rocked (never did play 4 tho\'). I still think Resident Evil : Rebirth is one of the finest games, ever.

4 was the best one...it came out after a galzillion others came out and managed the most critical praise of them all. Death penalty.
I never got the originals. You wandered around awkwardly with a Dpad, you couldn\'t aim, you could beat any of the games without firing a shot pretty much...bleh. I don\'t even know which was on Rebirth.

No. Even devs themselves eventually grow sick of old IP.
New IP will come, it\'ll just take longer. Episodic content will imo remain @ PC (Steam) for some time.
