Cool deal.  I love anything sythn related.

You ever use Reason??? Can\'t state how great that program is.

With that said, I\'m trying to learn bass right now. Not much a guitar person, but I friggin\' love the bass, so I figured I\'d pick one up and give it a shot. Something to pass the time.

Very nice work. What program are you using?

just ableton to record in 2 tracks from the mixer.... it\'s a korg electribe and a korg R3 synth that I\'m singing into for the vocoder. no overdubs...

use reason all the time... love it.

I have reason too but havent managed it yet. You are doing a great job with it I see.

personally I use FL Studio. For many it seems like a "toy" but is an awesome sequencer. You can rewire almost any music program (including reason) and any VSTi you want with it making it an awesome flexible tool.

I recently got FL 8 and the demos in it show crazy stuff that I havent figured out yet how to exploit but it seems much more user friendly and offers much more room to develop the program itself and your music. I get very nice results so far.

I highly recommend it to you. I believe you will do even more awesome things with it once you get more flexibility and the chance to combine reason, FL studio, Cubase and other virtual instruments. :)

I use reason for drums. But I really need some sort of drum pad midi controller for it.

point and click drum programming in Cubase always ends up shitty for me. Especially when all you write is metal.

It always ends up way too perfect, way too on time. way too robotic.

your band needs a singer.  How about it, thx.  while your band is playing the instruments, you sing and play the congas at the same time.:D

Thanks Captain Obvious... There are all sorts of timing shit in Cubase I could fuck with to make it less perfect... Make it swing in a way. but I never bothered to learn how to use it all. I would much rather just have a piece of hardware I could actually play the drum parts on.

I just didn\'t have the money to run out and buy a drum controller, so I\'ve had to make do with what I\'ve got.

heh.
I bought a new midi controller myself.
A 25 key one tho\'. Also by M-Audio.

With that said, I looked at that Drum Control and loved it. Just didn\'t get it this time around. May invest in it later.   I\'ve got way to many projects going on. Trying to learn bass, for the hell of it, but electronic music will always be my favorite stuff. I\'m a child of the 80\'s, what can I say?
:D

By the way.
Does It Offend You, Yeah? has a song called "Dawn of the Dead" that totally fuckin\' rocks.

I always thought that was such a stupid name I never bothered to check them out.

I\'ve been trying to get Jar O Pickles to learn bass for years.

He\'s too lazy to practice.

It does seem like a stupid name, but it is actually a good album. It\'s not metal by any means, but still a kick ass album.

Bass  = sweet.
I just wish I had more time or I wish I would of took up all this stuff when I was younger and single. Could of invested in actual lessons and what not.

I checked it out... Pretty good song.

This is a great website if your a beginner on guitar or bass. Or even an experienced player looking for some licks.

Also RAz, have you ever listened to Bloc Party? Not so electronic but still you\'d probably like \'em.

I have the 49 key one, and it\'s got 8 faders and 8 knobs... It\'s great...combined with the trigger finger would be sweet! Use it to trigger samples loaded into the redrum in reason, and record passages with quantization turned off, then you\'ll have a more human feel.
