This is a GREAT game. Treat yourselves and play this amazing former xbox 360 exclusive, and rejoice, Ps3 only owners.

definitly a great game, but try to get it on some deal. CC had it for 10 bucks off, so i got the pc version for 40 bucks, which it\'s definitly worth. But i\'d have a hard time dropping $60 on a game that doesnt have much replayability
i might just be unwilling to play through it again since my comp crapped out 3/4ths through the game and i hate playing through all that again to get to where i was...yet i can play mass effect 4 times..my mind\'s weird

The atmosphere rocked by the FPS part of the equation was lackluster. The hacking became a chore, and the enemies never really seemed to change after about the first hour of the game. Great game, but not worth the 60 bucks.
What it really did was make me want to play Fallout.

Indeed an awesome game. I have it but I got stuck somewhere.
-
This would be news if i were into fps...hit me back when mass effect drops for the ps3... :fro:

Interesting. I just bought Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (PS2) on sale for $4.00 and found it rather entertaining. It\'s become a little repetitive, but it makes me want to go back and play through Fallout again. Good game.
-
Every once in a while I\'ll play through Fallout 1&2 again. Its amazing how differently you can play the game each time. I\'m really, really hoping they don\'t fuck up 3.
-
won\'t fallout 3 be really different from the other 2? like the jump from gta2 to gta 3?
I can never get into those high-up-camera games. I thought fallout 3 was going to be like STALKER
-
Yeah, its going the way of the first person perspective but it looks like they are trying to keep the RPG fighting system somewhat intact (targeting different limbs). I\'m not so worried about that, i\'m more worried about if they\'ll butcher the story/atmosphere and the ability to do just about whatever you damn well want to do.

HA 100% agreed.
The setting was FANTASTIC but the game itself just didn\'t keep my attention.
I\'m not a huge FPS fan though, so that fact that I liked it as much as I did says something.

The Bioshock movie will be directed by Gore Verbinski, and will use the same elements that the film "300" used, to recreate Rapture. I think releasing this on Ps3 is a brilliant idea. Microsoft may have the exclusive rights to Bioshock 2. Get Ps3 users hooked, and they have to get an Xbox 360 to play the sequel.

Gonna have to agree. The atmosphere was great, but the over all game was just plain lacking.

Meet the teams bringing BioShock to PS3 (plus new screens)
2K Australia: During BioShock development, Australia was the home of the tech team - the guys who worked on the core engine and rendering features that brought to life the gorgeous visuals of Rapture. Five members of that team, Mathi Nagarajan, Ben Driehuis, Daniel Lamb, Weicheng Fang, and Tim Cooper are now working on the PS3 version, focused on rendering, graphics and optimization. Their goal is to make the game run amazingly well on the PS3, and they’ve been making tremendous progress so far on that front.
2K Boston: The Boston team is the largest chunk of the BioShock team at the moment; many of them hard at work on some of the as-yet-unannounced components of the PS3 version. I can mention the work of one Boston team member, Ian Bond, who has been optimizing and refactoring the physics simulation for the game to take the maximum advantage of the PS3 hardware.

The two images released so far though (not these in the link you provided) arent that promising. I hope that the PS3 version looks as good as the 360 version at least

the two pics you speak about could be from XBox360 version :) some people got confused too.
and looking now at this game, I\'m not anymore impressed from the graphics, compared to the best PS3 exclusives. I played the game on the XBox, didn\'t finish the game, boring for me. The atmosphere is great but gameplay is not there; my opinion.
other guys cannot way for this game on PS3, and some who already have it on the X, will get the PS3 version. The beauty of taste and opinions :)

Any game that allows you to die.
Come back. Shoot the enemy.
Die again.
Come back, resume shooting him.
Die again.
Repeat until he is beat.
Any game with that system is fundamentally broken.
-
Yeah, I thought that was kinda funny too.

The PS3 version of BioShock is a little different to the 360/PC one. It\'ll have downloadable "challenge rooms" for starters, but it\'ll also feature a new difficulty mode, "Survivor". Which is a stupid name. It should really be called "Will Kick Your Ass Up And Down Rapture". Instead of tweaking things like AI, they\'ve instead decided to cut off pretty much all of your ammo, leaving you in many instances to pick up a gun with a single bullet in it. It\'ll also jack up the price of plasmids, reduce the amount of health vita chambers give you and just generally make the game, oh, impossible.
That\'s one of the main gameplay additions covered, but IGN are also reporting that that the PS3 version features improved visuals, with "cleaner high resolution textures for every facet of the game". They also say the water effects look "much slicker" than what we\'ll assume is the 360 version. So, improvements all round, then!
