I\'ve always hated them. I never understood why they sold so well for a certain period of time. I guess they had good initial quality, but they tend to fall apart quickly in my opinion.
Once I owned an early 80\'s Ford Fairmont, and it was dogshit. Absolute crap. The acceleration was so anemic it was downright dangerous. I think that car had a maximum speed of 79 mph. And it took 8 minutes to get from 63 to 79.
I can\'t believe there\'s actually a Fairmont enthusiasts webpage. Fuck you, whoever made that page. http://stuartscustoms.freeyellow.com/Fairmont.html

Own a 97 Thunderbird. Going on 100k miles and still runs like its got 10k. Still looks great too.....well aside from the scratches and regular wear on the exterior......and me smoking doesn\'t help much for the interior either. The important thing is it runs well and is very reliable :)

Damn....in that Fairmont site, under "dealership postcards" they even have a fairmont in there with a turbo hood?.....and it even has that old starsky and hutch type stripe on the side........now i did actually like those "starsky and hutch" cars back in tha day,..but only if they had thee exact design from the old 70\'s show..*yes i\'m showing my age*.....i think the name of that car was called the gran tourino or something...
