I am leaving for Hong Kong on 6/22 and will be there until the 28th and I was wondering if anyone else has been there or knows what it\'s like. Where to go, where not to go, what to eat, what not to eat and such. Thanks douchebags.

Well, I was there. Lemme tell you to not bring too many clothes to Hong Kong as you\'ll need the extra space for the electronics and clothes you\'ll be buying.
The food is fantastic. Since I\'ve been there, it\'s ruined my taste for American side Chinese restaurant. Now I always say I don\'t like Chinese food unless it has Hong Kong chefs in the kitchen. I got hooked on their roast duck.
Kowloon side is the most popular place to go. The clubs are crazy awesome, if you\'re into that kinda thing. I haven\'t been there in decades so I can\'t tell you which one to go to as they\'ve probably changed their names.
It\'s quite muggy and hot this time of year. Dress light but have a light jacket handy as their air conditioners are fucking freezing. At least when i went there.
You lucky bastard. Oh....and don\'t be afraid to haggle. The prices in the mom n pop electronics can be haggled.

thanks for the info
clubs are not my thing and i\'m staying in the wan chai district which doesnt sound like my kinda thing at all
as far as electronics go is the whole city just a big cheap radio shack?

They get some cheap knock offs from mainland China. But electronics made in Japan are much cheaper there than in the US. Just remember to ask if it\'s 120v.

The crappiest looking places are the best places to eat...
I\'m talking street vendors, street restaurants, kitchen right next to the seats, people barefoot, etc...
If you\'re into karaoke, clubs offer specials with all you can eat, drink (includes alcohol), sing for a whole night, all for about HK$90, which is about US$13.
And take public transportation as its one of the best in the world...
Get an Octopus Card for many basic needs...

Pay for anything with your VISA. You\'ll get a receipt you can use.
