What is the point of having bots register on a forum anyway?

I miss the good old times of Psx2central. I liked how I could find any related news concentrated in one space with links pointing to the source. I didnt have to surf various sites to spot the news. I entered PSX2central and all the sources pointing to news and announcements were there :)

The forum was much more fun too with all kinds of people.

Wasnt Psx2central once recommended by a magazine too?

Yeah, no sense in letting the domain name go to someone who , oh I don\'t know, actually do something with it.

I wish I had possessed some web design knowledge. I would gladly offer my services. The best thing I could do though is be a contributor or a moderator or something.

IF I had 10 minutes of spare time and the ability I\'d do it.  But I have neither.

Can\'t be that difficult, just create a blog, redirect the url to it, let people add updates, the end.  Give a couple of people access enough to make adjustments to the look of the site and go nuts.  If people want to add updates, they can, if not, oh well.  It would be fun to have a site completely run by the members of the forum who post on it.  Why bother making it professional and content oriented when you can have just as much fun watching the inmates run the asylum?  Works well for Kotaku whether you like them or not.

The problem is, we\'ve had plenty of people say "it\'s easy, all we have to do is this", and then it never gets done.  We had a layout completely made up long ago, along with a whole idea of how it would run.  But nothing came of it.

What we need is someone to just say, ok, I\'ll make something, make it, and then we can go from there.  Until someone actually makes something we can use, and that\'s actually physically in place, there\'s not much we can do.  Once that\'s happened though, I\'m sure we have plenty of people here who would love to contribute content.

Wow. That is a really good idea. Looking in retrospect, all the "professional" gaming sites never made it. A site created by the members and things added by the members seems to carry more weight. The reviews and contributions are by the average joe and at the same level as the browsers of the website.

we already own ps3central.com, so as soon as someone steps up that knows web stuff, then we can move ahead.

we\'ve had a few offers that fell to the floor, but since there\'s no pay in it, i can\'t really complain.

would really enjoy having a member supported blog style front page, as long as it was funny to read.

As long as you give Raz and Uni their own blog.

However I promise to visit it everyday if someone else does it.

Well if its a blog you\'re looking for, i\'m familiar with the movable type platform (did the blog for watchmen and terminator).  Not sure if the server is set up for it.  I\'m a front end designer, I know shit about server side workings.  Not sure how much time I have, but I can at least start it.

I think we need to break it up though into sections like an actual gaming site. I think we need a section on previews, reviews, news, gossip, technical info, other things people see fit.

As far as the forums go, I think we need to have a small section that is just original PSX2Central regulars with the rest open to everyone. It would be awesome to have some new blood in here but something that is sacred to the people who have been regulars here for years; a section that can continue on with our little group. Just my two cents.
