Go see it.
It doesn\'t suck like Ang Lee\'s version.
Go see it.
P.S - I love you Norton!
-
i really wanted to catch \'the happening\' this weekend and hulk next.
anything like iron man where the final fight sequence is like 30 seconds long?

I\'ll catch \'The Happening\' tomorrow or Monday, most likely.
As for The Hulk, it\'s heavy on the action and the last final fight sequence lasts at least ten or fifteen minutes. I\'d say it\'s perfectly paced. My only complaint would be Liv Tyler as Betty Ross.
-
u ever find out if its true that norton wont be the hulk for the avengers movie?
I still cant believe theyre trying to pull that off..i mean, thor er captain america (cant remember) comes out 2010..then maybe another year and a half for the avengers movie. just seems like too much.
also wish they wouldve picked a different group to do this whole ordeal but o well.
-
I really doubt Norton will return. He didn\'t get screen writing credit and he had a total different cut for the film. The bright side is they\'ve already confirmed that there will be almost 70 more minutes of additional footage for the Blu Ray disc, most of which was Norton\'s stuff.
-
Gonna go check out Hulk sometime mid next week to a late night showing when its devoid of teenagers. Looks more fun than Ang Lee\'s version. Is Hulk CGI better this time around?
-
For the love of God people, don\'t spend money on The Happening. It\'s the worst movie of 2008.
(disclaimer: I haven\'t actually watched it, just going by word of mouth)
-
Yeah, I\'d say the CGI is better this time around, but I honestly feel, that as far as total CGI creatures go, we\'ve reached a point where we are getting very little improvements.
This movie scores big for all the comic nerds. For the following reasons.
1: S.H.I.E.L.D
2: The Leader setup.
3: Captain America name drop (Sorta)
4: Bill \'David Banner\' Bixby cameo.
5: Lou \' The Original Hulk\' cameo.
6: ..." HULK...SM...ASH!"
7: Thunder clap.
8: Tony Stark.
There was enough dork moments to carry it for all the nerds. I saw it with a friend (a guy, in his late 40\'s) who is into all the old comics and what not and he loved it. He brought his foster son, who also enjoyed it.
As for \'The Happening\', I figured it\'d suck. I haven\'t liked a single M.Night film, but my mother really wants to see it. I thought I\'d be nice and take her.
-
Lol sam. Yeah the critical reception for The Happening is not kind to say the least.
Altho the critics hated Lady In The Water which I didn\'t hate, didn\'t love, but didn\'t think it was even remotely as bad as the press it was given. Of course however I was not sober while watching it.
-
The Happening is HORRIBLE. Only reason we chose that over Hulk was because there were females in our crew. When it\'s supposed to be scary & serious the audience ended up laughing. And once you figure out what\'s going on, the film just drags out with no real conclusion. Typical, modern M. Night fare.
-
I think M. Night guy is overrated when his movies that he made. I thought the Sixth Sense was good but not great, but everything he done afterward has been so-so since. Even though I haven\'t watched any of his movies since Signs.
I thought the first Hulk movie was boring, too lengthy with some unnecessary clips that viewers could careless if it were deleted from the movie. I don\'t like how Ang Lee made that movie lengthy but boring. Not sure about this new Hulk though. So was the Superman film which also suffer similar fate, but surprisingly from a director that made X-Men 1 & 2 that were great. At least, I thought the Hulk was a bit more entertaining than the Superman film.
-
I might catch TIH on DVD, but I\'m not too excited... I even read some Hulk comics as a kid, which is rare for me. But the Hulk character just doesn\'t appeal that much to me anymore. But still, it\'s got Edward Norton and that\'s always a good thing.
-
saw it yesterday with my sisters, I thought it was better than the first one
norton > bana

Man, saying "crew" is just so way cool, wish I could pull it off :p

1. Batman Begins

I no longer like you. I mean come on, Spiderman 2 sucked and X-MEN 2 was borderline. Alright, maybe I just really hate the Spiderman movie franchise...

I may have enjoyed I-Hulk more than X-Men 2, but X-Men 1 built it up and the storyline appeased the millions X-Men fanboys so it ranks higher. It accomplished the same goal Incredible Hulk and Iron Man just did; remained faithful to the comics while appealing to a mass audience.
As for Spiderman 2, who am I to argue to Roger Ebert.

I may as well replace The Dark Knight with X-men 2. It\'s not out yet but assuming it lives up to 80% of the hype it will be an easy 3-5.
Actually, I thought about it more and made a revision.
1-3 same
4. Sin City
and so on
-
seeing some of you guys made a list of your favorite comic book movies, might as well do the same too.
Here is mine:
1) X-Men 2
2) X-Men
3) Iron Man
4) Spider-Man
5) Spider-Man 2
6) Spider Man 3
7) X-Men 3
8) Fantastic Four
9) Batman Begins
added:
10) the incredible hulk 2003 version
11) superman 2006 version
I haven\'t seen Hellboy or Sin City so I can\'t rate them. I know you guys are going to get me for listing Batman Begins at the bottom of the list, but honestly when I first initially watched it in theater, I didn\'t enjoy it much. Not my cup of tea I suppose. I prefer the 89\'s Batman version much more than Batman Begins. But the Dark Knight sure looks like it will be very entertaining.
I never read these comic books, so I just enjoying the movie without knowing much about it. But I sure did occasionally watch x-men, batman, and spiderman cartoons when i was younger. I really love those batman cartoon episodes back in the days, they are really, really good...so are x-men and spiderman...but batman seens to be a tad better.
-
EDIT: Holy batman, I forgot about 300!
This is just by memory, so nothing\'s set in stone. My list:
1) Batman Begins
2) 300
3) Sin City
4) Spider-Man
5) Iron Man
6) Hellboy
7) X-Men (or II, can\'t remember which is better :))
-
See Paul2 for moron without opinion worth noting.
-
none of you faggots mentioned The Crow
-
6) X-Men (or II, can\'t remember which is better :))
Taking into consideration the general negative impressions of X-Men 1 I think you might be talking about X-men 2
-
i thought x-men 1 and 2 were good..2 being the best by far. it was 3 that was horrible.
the first movies in these series are always going to be the harder one to make good since you have to introduce all the characters and all of their traits. takes a lot of time and can get slow..plus if they change something the nerds have a hissy fit...pricks didn\'t put gambit in..
anyway. mine:
1) batman begins
2) Sin City
3) x-men 2
4) iron man
5) 300
6) Spiderman
7) Spiderman 2
-
My list wasn\'t even a favorites list.
More like "best ever list".
-
MOAR LIKE GAYEST LIST EVAR! AMIRITE? Zing!

just saw the Hulk... I liked it. Wasn\'t without it\'s flaws and nowhere near as good as Iron Man. But it was a good movie. However all of the actors.... well... in my opionion were wrong for the parts and seemed stiff. And tiny Tim Roth as the best the british have to offer. As much as I like the actor... he\'s not a soldier.
However, I did like it, I liked how they set up that Mr. Blue professor guy to become The Leader. And when the Abomination was brawling through the city and you could see people flying when he smashed things, that was awesome.
What I didn\'t like was how the Hulk defeated the Abomination, both of them heal.... well, very quickly. I would think he\'d stand up pretty quickly, even after being strangled.
-
I was pretty excited to see the happening, and I usually take all reviews with a grain of salt.
But damn... it seems like everyone just hated it.
-
But damn... it seems like everyone just hated it.
Hehe, it got 11% at Rottentomatoes\' top critics. :D
-
It\'s got like a 35 at metacritic too.
-
Saw The Incredible Hulk last night. Lots of fun, I can\'t even begin to describe how much better this one was than Ang Lee\'s version.
I give props to Ang Lee for wanting to try something different but at the end of the day it just didn\'t work.
Its a shame that Marvel fucked Edward Norton over and he probably won\'t be back for the next one because I thought he was great, altho he should of banged that little brazilian hottie at the start of the movie. The Lou Ferrigno cameo was pretty sweet too. I do agree with nO-One that Tim Roth doesn\'t seem like an elite SAS soldier. Also after Blonsky transformed into Abomination apparently he lost his penis in the process.
And yes....they finally explain in the movie why all of the hulks clothes rip off. Except his pants.
-
The whole explanation about the pants not ripping was really a great touch. I also loved the fact that Banner couldn\'t get , uhm, "excited". A lot of little touches like that, made it a film that stands head and shoulders over the pretentious Ang Lee version.
I\'ve seen it twice, which is more than I can say for \'03 Hulk and I own that on HD DVD and regular DVD. Watched it once and never finished it again. I was in the mood the other night, put in the HD DVD version, watched maybe forty minutes of it and got bored, turned it off. In a film like this, you need a quick, minimal plot and plenty of smashing, something that Marvel delivered with this new Hulk.
-
It plugged in a ton of comic references which rocked but the screenplay needed work. I didn\'t really feel for Banner\'s predicament nearly as much as I do reading the comics.
-
When it gets on video the director has said that there is 70 minutes of extra footage that was cut. I\'m assuming this is what the Norton vs Marvel fight was about so it\'ll be interesting to see, 70 minutes is a ton to cut from a movie.
-
another thing that bugs me, The Abomination, unlike Hulk has his mind intact. He\'s Blonsky in a monsters body. So I assumed that would be the same thing in the movie, which was supported by the fact that he talked to Hulk and taunted him.
Now... the thing is, he mutated and went on a rampage. Maybe it\'s different for him but, when I mutate into a gigantic superpowered monster. I...... well I check out just what I turned into, before going on a rampage. For example, I would check out what happened to my penis, after finding out it dissappeared, then I\'d go on a bloody rampage (after finding something to cover my shame... or lack there of)
-
In the comic books Abomination always did seem to have his mind intact where as Bruce and the Hulk seem like different people. Hulk has minor recolection of Banner\'s memory, given the affection Hulk shows for Betty (by the way I forgot to mention earlier that Liv Tyler is a total babe) but Abomination as you said was indeed pretty much all Blonsky in a monsters body, and seeing as he was supposed to be a war hero and he is more aware of his actions than the Hulk is but still chooses to be evil.
As for the magicaly dissapearing penis, I agree, if it was me, regardless of my new found super powers I would be quite curious just as to where my penis ran off to. Then commence with said bloody rampage.
-
Liv Tyler looks like a total trash fest, compared to Jennifer Jennifer Connelly (by no means is Tyler not hot tho\'!).
-
I would have to say that Jennifer Connelly is one of the most naturally beautiful celebrities I can think of. I think i\'ve had a crush on her since I saw Dark City when I was a kid.
-
Dark City, eh?
I prefer her in Dario Argento\'s Phenomena .
-
Never seen that one but i\'ve heard it mentioned before on these boards.
Honestly tho Jennifer Connelly is hot in any movie shes in, from Labyrinth to the very shitty Dark Water.
even this..

Dark Water wasn\'t *that* bad.
And, as Ray Charles once said...
"I CAN\'T SEE SHIT."
Repost the picture, Joker.
-
Bah! I can see it :( But if this one doesn\'t work it was the poster from \'The Rocketeer\'

She was in that? Damn. I remember watching that as a kid and thinking, "damn this movie sucks". I haven\'t watched it since.
-
I remember watching that in the theater, I was 5, it was the first time I realized trailers for movies were not all one scene.
and no I don\'t think i\'ve seen it since either but I remember the hottness of Jennifer Connelly. Oh and the fight on the blimp at the end. That was sick.
-
I was going to say how I can\'t get past the suspension of disbelief in the Hulk movies, but with the explanation for the pants thing apparently in this one, maybe it wouldn\'t be so bad. I thought the Ang Lee movie was a goofy cartoon. I want a realistic Hulk. That\'s why the size of this one just turned me off, but I\'ll have to give it a try.
I saw the summer\'s other action-packed, superhero flick this weekend instead. Don\'t Mess with the Zohan. (Actually funny.)

In the comics the Hulk is Banner\'s subconscious coming to life. Banner has always had a dark side due to repressing anger & rage throughout his upbringing. The Hulk personifies (or monsterifies) all those feelings coming to life.
Another geeky comic thing to point out is that Banner has had sex in human form without incident. Never had a problem with turning into the Hulk then. Was kinda tiffed at that and I will be suing Marvel Inc.
-
Well, this Hulk is around 6\'5 - 7\'0 feet tall, if I had to guess. It explains the whole pants thing and over all, it\'s as realistic as the Hulk can be. Whatever that means.

true, but still two different personalities, atleast in savage hulk mode.
