and Dane Cook
Thats a shame about Carlin. I always liked his work, even his later years stuff.

His later stuff almost isn\'t even comedy. It\'s like an angry social commentary.

He was undeniably a genius.
It will be interesting to see how many news reports and obituaries mention his atheism and criticism of religion.

luckee good sir, you were either too high or not high enough to realize my internet sarcasm.
I\'ll be sure to check out The Daily Show tonight, I remember years ago before The Daily Show really took off Jon Stewart hosted a special night honoring Carlin\'s career and seemed to have a genuine affection for Carlin, as I would assume almost all comedians do. Carlin was indeed a legend.
If there is a god I hope George is giving him a hard time right now.
couple of my favourite bits
I too like to think of myself as a sun worshipper.

Thanks for the links. I\'m not a full on atheist, but organized religion is bullshit. God bless Joe Pesci.

I was gone all day and got home late and found this on the news browsing the web. =\\ He will be missed. I think the first time I heard George Carlin was in 6th grade when my friend had one of his CDs. I had never laughed that hard in all my life. Meh... we all gotta kick the bucket someday.

Carlin, during his middle age years was great. Carlin later on in life, just came off as a tired old man ranting. Still, he had some great moments and some terrible ones (his Fox TV show..ugh!).
He\'ll be missed, I suppose.

I never got really into Carlin but whenever I did catch a routine, I loved it. I like his ranting style. Maybe I should get a hold of some of his albums and stuff.

Hmm was quite suprised to see that George Carlin was not mentioned on Letterman, Leno, or the Daily Show. I was positive at least some comedian talk show host would of at least said a few words.
