Title: Lollapalooza
Post by: Luke on August 02, 2008, 08:06:37 AM
Went yesterday. Saw Cat Power, Bloc Party and Radiohead.

Radiohead was fucking amazing. More a spectacle than a concert.

Anyone else going to (or has gone) to any festivals this year?

If they have the same stage setup your in for a treat.

Its all these tube LED\'s hanging from the top of the stage that shows some fancy shit, and behind them like the huge video screen split into 4ths with crazy angles on the band when they play.

crappy pic I know but you get the idea. It was fucking great.

Radiohead is the kind of group where their brilliance is not in any one or two songs, but in each album. They make albums, not singles.

So while these videos are somewhat good "examples" of Radiohead, if you really want to have a go at "getting" them (as they\'re an acquired taste) you might want to start with one of their albums. I\'d suggest The Bends and/or OK Computer, then Kid A. Then the rest of the their work.

Yeah..

I tried to make the videos vary... But they aren\'t exactly kinda band you could hear a few songs and think "OK, that\'s how they are".

Radiohead is supposed to headline the All Points West Music Festival by NYC next weekend. I\'m supposed to work there as a vendor.
