Title: Show your love for Little Big Planet !
Post by: BizioEE on August 03, 2008, 05:29:55 AM
I like that players can customize, create and share levels and characters.
I like so much the style, the graphics; must-have for me.

That looks pretty interesting.  The art looks appealing.
I\'m so sick of anime style characters, and these are not.

It\'d be cool to create some pretty tricky / sadistic levels, then release them online and see the player reactions to it.

Or just creating something so custom to your own taste, you\'d create a virtual happyland.

I’m somewhat lukewarm about LBP myself but I\'ll get it anyway because co-op is sure to be a hit when gaming family and friends gather for the holidays. Creating levels doesn’t interest me much though I’ll give it a shot and hope I’m wrong. However, I am very curious to see what others will do with it and think that’s where the game stands a chance to really get some legs.

ill probably end up getting it too. I thought i was going to get brothers in arms and/or star wars, but i might just end up renting those.

im kind of looking foreward to some old gameplay mechanics in a next-gen game. Like having the screen scrolling down and you have to keep finding the spaces in the floor to go down a level at a time.

I have high anticipation for this game.  The ability to play new games all the time is just going to be great.  I just wish I had the time and the intelligence to make my own level.

Someone created a level, it\'s a piano..

You can "jump" on any notes to play a song and according to the level designer, all the notes are "accurate".

90% of the content will be trash, but the 10% will be just great, full of "wow" how did he do that lol.

Can\'t wait to buy that game.

how did you get a beta code? been checking around and i cant find how to get one anywhere..most of them are on sites like fileplanet where you have to subscribe to get it, or a site handing them out gets so flooded it shuts down, and somehow all the codes are taken by the time its back up

that\'s where I got mine from, you don\'t have to subscribe to anything, just create an account and retrieve a promo code.

after playing it for a few hours, I have to change my initial view of it, it was quite entertaining.

not sure if I\'d be prepared to buy the game or not yet, I\'ve only really played the demo levels in any real depths so far.

trying to figure out how to play multiplayer on it. all the games I\'ve played "online" so far, only ever seems like it\'s me in there.

it\'s not showing the same registration page now as it did for me.

when I went to fileplanet, there was a link for LBP, I clicked that and it took me to a registration page, it allowed me to put my details in (name password etc), and then it took me to the payment plan page.

it showed 2 payment plans, and below it had a link that said something along the lines of "no thanks, continue with my registration".

I continued with the registration and then a page came up asking if I wanted to retrieve my promo code now, or later.

I retrieved it and dowloaded the beta.

I know for sure that I didn\'t put any cc info in, so maybe they just did it for the LBP promo

you have to remember that all these are user-created-level. The game ship with developer made level which are said to be "good" plat former with intuitive boss battle.

I am pretty sure that in a few months, 90% of the level created stuff will be shit that no one will play. But since there will be a rating system, you\'ll be able to choose to play through the best level and if it\'s just 10%, it\'s still 10% of free content that is not on the original disk.

The marvel of technical title is interwoven especially with the work style, which has been variously discussed in the preceding paragraphs. The scene is painted in the eyes of the player is a heterogeneous mix of materials, colorful and exuberant, full of brio and energy. Together with lush colors, the sympathy of Sackboy is at the forefront irretire for the player, constantly seduced and flattered by the brilliant simplicity of the forms.

it\'s absolutely fantastic, an instant classic that actually turned out to be better than my expectations. The community and creation stuff was bound to be reason enough to own the game, but the included content put together by Media Molecule is so good that even if the level building tools weren\'t in the picture, this would still be a must-have experience.

Quote

Media Molecule has created a brilliant platformer, and then given you the tools to recreate the whole thing over again, or better yet, to create your own ideas from scratch. It\'s not perfect - the controls could be tighter, automatically shifting between planes can be problematic, the editor isn\'t quite as robust as you might hope - but what\'s there is nothing short of astounding. If you own a PlayStation 3, you cannot miss this. If you don\'t have a PS3 yet, this is the reason to get one.

looks like Tuesday is the day....  I went to a couple places last week hoping they would be stupid enough to sell it, but no luck.  I mean this stupid music thing is so trivial, why couldn\'t they just do it with a patch for everyone?

Yeah..it\'s kinda dumb, but i guess you can imagine the backlash and bad publicity if they left it in there...just kill the drama now and be done with it. As far as hd tv\'s are concerned,..i\'m still playing on a 38\' toshiba crt....the games still look good,..but lawd hammercy...everytime i go to blockbuster to rent a movie they always have a game playing on one of their flatscreen hd tv\'s and the games look absolutely fantastic....agggh..i\'m about to hijack the thread everybody.

Does anybody know of a good hdtv that i can get on tha cheap? and from where?

You can get an open box Sony KDL-XBR 40 for $1400. That\'s what I did last week. Now I have a 46 and a 40 incher. I just need to get a second PS3 for the loft.

Best Buy had a ton.  Gamestop wasn\'t putting them on shelves until today.

The servers were horrible last night.  They were ok in the afternoon, but last night I couldn\'t do anything online.  They will definitely need to ramp up their servers before people start bitching and not buying.

I found this guys site that shows some of the user created levels.  I was looking for a good site to find the better user elvels.  anyone find any others?

This is a pretty cool game. One of the few that make me wish I had a PS3. Though I\'d only get into this one if I had a net connection at home.

It\'ll be neat to see what people can think of or spoof or recreate with the level editor.

if MM (thats Media Molecule) and Blizzard ever merged to make a MMORPG/Platform Community cross , well i sudder to think what would become of me.

I picked this game up last Friday. VERY fun! I played thru the entire story in about 7 hours or so (maybe a little longer). After that I played some user-created lvls.

ooseven -- Your levels are fun as hell :P It inspired me to create and publish a lvl. Check it out and tell me what you think.

For anyone else who isn\'t on my PSN friends list, I\'m Anorok.

If you go past the sign with the head that flips no one can come in.  So if you want to have a partner you have to sit and wait at the enterance.  Some of the deeper levels you only have to wait a minute or so.

Looks like they are dealing with their copyright issues.  I played a little Mario Brothers last night on it.

LittleBigPlanet GOTY is Out, Meet the Special Guest Designers

Quote

For those who haven’t jumped on the “Play, Create and Share” bandwagon yet, now is the time as the LittleBigPlanet Game of Year edition Game of Year edition is available NOW!

The new package includes everything from the original as well as seven free downloadable content packs, a PlayStation Network voucher code to download the upcoming ModNation Racers online beta AND 18 never-before-seen levels created by some extremely talented members of the community – all bonus content valued at more than $30!

So, how did these 18 consumers get to be part of a video game? Well, it wasn’t random. Our team at Media Molecule handpicked them all after viewing the exceptional levels each fan had previously posted online. Once identified, we contracted each person, with payment, of course, to create a new level that would be incorporated into the Game of the Year. So, all 18 people are now amateur video game developers for the PlayStation family.

One of these creators, David Dino, a 27 year-old Hospital Safety Coordinator from Azusa, CA, recently spoke with USAToday.com about his role in the game. Check out the interview as Dino discusses what it feels like to now be an amateur video game developer and an integral part of a major video game franchise.

Lastly, to drum up early excitement for the LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year, the new bonus levels were playable on the show floor at PAX last week. Take a look at some gameplay footage and a recap of what went down with LittleBigPlanet in Seattle during the show…

Sonic the Hedgehog Sackboy Costumes Coming To LittleBigPlanet

Quote
Sega and Sony are working together to bring Sonic into the PlayStation 3 version of LittleBigPlanet. In the middle of December, five Sonic the Hedgehog costumes based on Sonic Unleashed will be released as downloadable content. You can get Sonic, Sonic the Werehog, Tails, Dr. Eggman, and Knuckles alone or in a pack.

Nice to see more LittleBigPlanet collaborations, but whatever happened to those the Final Fantasy VII costumes Sony mentioned last year?

 • Tributary:
