Title: What to do to pass time on a plane ride?

I\'m going to chicago for a wedding on the 17th, but i have no PSP or a laptop. Im praying my brother will let me borrow his laptop, especially since my ipod\'s battery is funky
maybe certain books? i end up not reading though. sat in jury duty for hours and ended up reading 2 chapters of silence of the lambs. maybe something similar but different like the watchmen? (wasn\'t too impressed with the pages you can look through on amazon.com)
Just going with my mom and grandmother..my brother and nephew are going a few days earlier so im going to have to keep myself entertained

Watchmen was a great read when I took the train into NYC every day.
I usually just sleep on planes, but I realize most people aren\'t capable of falling asleep in such uncomfortable seats.

I fly a tremendous amount and I mostly do a lot of Sudoku and iPod. I don\'t want to talk to the dude next to me for two hours so the second I sit down in goes the ear phones. And most planes have headphone jacks in the arm rests now so you can easily hide your ipod and they don\'t know if you have it plugged into their system or yours.

plans ended up kind of shitty for chicago. we\'re there 5 days, then we go to michigan for the wedding. 2 days, theyre visiting my grandma\'s friends; 2 days theyre visiting my moms friends (theyre from there)..
so is there shit to do alone there? (luke, luckee, few others)
and i guess were staying with my cousin by wrigley field, i think. theyre definitly on the north side. Is it possible to take public transportation to the south side? or is that too far? i wanted to go to the museum of science and industry

You can take public transportation anywhere in chicago. But god, why would you want to go to the south side? :)
If you just looking for some museums and whatnot go downtown along the lakefront... museum of art, field museum and the shedd aquarium are all right next to each other. Parking is ok, you can usually park at soldier field but if not mcormick place has tons of parking... if your driving.
If not from the north side you could just take the "el" (chicago\'s from of a subway, but above ground, like in the dark knight!)

The museum of science and industry is cool, but a little farther away south down lake shore drive.

i thought soldier field and the museums were on the southside. unless that was my moms attempt to keep me from going somewhere alone.
i havent been there since i was in like 3rd grade so i have no sense of direction of the city. Just that my grandparents old house was next to toots, some grody hotdog place that was like a landmark to us. and down the road a bit from that chicago sign

Nah, Soldier Field and the museums are right on the lake off downtown, not southside at all.

yeah museum of science and industry is more like the worlds biggest kids museum. did you read the book "devil in the white city"? i would go to art museum, make yourself look cultured and try and hook up some chick who\'s majoring in art history at colombia
