Apparently this is the beginning of MS Vista commercials where they will pit Jerry against the Mac boy. MS is getting its feelings bruised by Mac.
Vista still sucks. I don\'t care if MS puts hot naked lesbo chicks on their commercials, Vista - Sucks.

Tru..enough...Jerry still has some of that dry humor, but it wasn\'t working here...and i don\'t know too much about vista, but i still hear complaints of people in general just saying it sucks....and i\'d have to agree...i posted a thread awhile back at how my sister had windows xp on her old pc for work, but when she upgraded to vista, that system wasn\'t able to run anything....luckily she got her harddrive fixed with the xp system on it....that vista os was giving her headaches.

I\'ve heard mixed things about Vista. My ex loves it. I can\'t stand it. Its too much fluff for what it does. I\'m happy with XP and until another operating system comes out that I\'m satisfied with, I\'m sticking with XP. Anyone else just upgrade to XP SP3? I don\'t notice a huge difference. Computer runs a bit better but its still getting slow because of all the crap I have on it.

Same as luke, only had one problem but that was from a virus not vista. Aside from that I haven\'t run into a fraction of the problems other people have.

I don\'t know anything about Vista, but this type of ad is smart. They need the image overhaul if they\'re going to hold off Apple\'s ipod-financed attacks.

Although Apples commercials are entertaining, I think the attacks they use are pretty pointless. Most of those people who have problems like they describe in the ads are people who don\'t do any system maintenance or are computer illiterate. For example, my roommates. They complain how slow their computers are and then they see mine run fine and they don\'t get it. I update my computer, defrag the hard drive and do the basic maintenance to keep it running like the day I bought it. I got lax lately so its slowing down but nothing a couple hours and a cup of coffee can\'t fix.
In all honesty, I don\'t think the Mac OS is anything special. When it all boils down to it, it is what you are comfortable with. At the end of the day, if you check email, browse the internet and do word processing, it really doesn\'t matter. I\'m going to get an Apple OS and Windows on the same machine when I get into the real world because graphics and video editing are supposed to be easier on a Mac. Otherwise, I\'d use Windows for everything else.

I have always been a PC user until last year. Now I have both and I\'d have to say the Mac OS is WAY faster than VISTA.

Well, the world is full of people like your roommates, so that\'s probably who Apple is targeting anyway. A big demographic.
And it doesn\'t really matter if the attacks are pointless, the image they paint stays with you. The only time I\'ve used Macs, I\'ve cursed trying to right click the one button mouse. Those might be artifacts nowadays, but even I\'m of the impression that Macs are good for media and are just cooler somehow. And I hated my time using one, so the ads are effective on some level regardless of how pointless.

I agree with you 100%. They are targeting a demographic that knows shit about computers. Most people don\'t know anything except you click the icon and hit the keyboard. You really don\'t need to know shit about computers to work a Mac. Its pretty much just point and click. And the lack of right clicking has always gotten me. That and I always thought the Mac computers looked a bit queer to me. I mean they look better now but they used to look so freaking gay.

ive been using vista at work for a while and have had no problems in a way i kinda like it better than xp the majority of problems ive heard stem from microsoft severely underestimating the required specs to run it
