He died of cancer at 65. As a Pink Floyd fan, I am a little depressed. I always think of these guys as being younger than the old geezers in the Beatles, Rolling Stones, or the Who. I guess they\'re not that much younger. I liked Wright\'s songwriting abilities and his contribution to the flavor of the classic PF sound.
I recently ordered both the Pink Floyd biography Comfortably Numb and the new book The Black Strat about David Gilmour\'s famous stratocaster.

Speaking of which, Fender finally released the David Gilmour signature model Stratocaster, but it\'s $4,000 for the new old stock version! (Even more for the "relic" aged version.) I think if I want a strat like that, I would save most of the money and build it myself.

A loss indeed. Not much I can say about the awesomeness of Pink Floyd that hasn\'t been said time and time again. But aye it sucks.

That\'s a real shame. I love Pink Floyd. One of my favorite bands of all time. RIP.
