And the links will be discredited in 3...2...1...
These actually bring up valid points. It is shame that the kids on here will not believe a word of it.

I need to watch that later.
BTW, I got a nice package today: it\'s white plush elephant with the US Shield on its chest.
Republicans value my member. Ship.

It\'s no wonder the clowns at fox news are running this....conservative propoganda of the highest order...You have people on that clip sayin\' IMO Obama was probably already influenced by his radical philosophy and probably already knew William Ayers in NY....everybody is giving their opinions and views on what they THINK Obama might be or what he might have done...
Those clips are a joke, and it shows just how desperate the conservative base is at finding anything that connects Obama with radical muslims & terrorists,...because if you connect him with terrorits & muslims, americans will think 9/11....keep reachin\'..and wow..didn\'t Obama state that the conservatives would try these smear and scare tactics to try and influence americans?......he was right....the conservative and the so-called nuetral on this site are busting their ass trying to make a connection.
Newsflash,...people do not care about this....you can not connect Obama with any of the things that those folks might have said or done...give it a rest...you guys are looking like fools and acting incredibly desperate.
-
Oh STFU clips. You can\'t stand it when anyone questions the black messiah. I predicted you would denounce the source, yet Fox is the only news channel that isn\'t in the tank for Obama.
These are facts clips - not made up shit like the Dems saying Palin made rape victims pay for "rape kits".
What do Osama Bin Laden and Barack Hussein Obama have in common? They both have friends that bombed the Pentagon.

And there it is, the second you posted I knew you were going to push the "conservative propaganda" button. God is that the only excuse you have.
These aren\'t smear ads, it\'s a documentary. Nothing stated in those videos was false. How this is propaganda I don\'t know, do you even know what propaganda is? I bet you didn\'t watch even one of those videos to the end.

Wow...you have a fascination with connecting him to Ayers right?...you want to believe he actually condones what this guy did, as if Obama was cheering him on at 8 years old at the time of the bombing...:p...go ahead giga....in your small world if you keep telling yourself that, i\'m sure you\'ll eventually convince yourself into actually believing it.
I will say this....i stopped watching halfway thru the 2nd vid since people were just giving opinions of what they think....Obama may have known those people, but he clearly has not done or said anything that would have you to believe that he believes in those philosophies...so you can post this stuff all day long, when the dust settles, and all is said and done, this story will not stick.....well maybe to a select few, but they are insignificant anyway.
Look at the ignorance displayed when you try to make a connection between Obama and Bin-Laden.......like i stated earlier when the conservatives have nothing left to stand on, let\'s connect Obama with terrorists...:ohnoes:

It\'s just a bunch of conservative rhetoric....and it\'s trying to cast Obama in a negative light,....I do believe that Obama know some of those folks, but the documentary is not balanced,....and the tone is one of dread and negativity...i can\'t take it seriously...now cnn did a balanced documentary on both McCain & Obama...i suggest you take a look at those documentaries.

Ayers is unrepentant and yet Obama still associates with him. Hell, Ayers said he didn\'t do enough bombing about 3 years ago and still Obama associated with him. The story has already stuck.

Today, John M. Murtagh made the following statement on Barack Obama’s relationship with William Ayers:
“When I was 9 years-old the Weather Underground, the terrorist group founded by Barack Obama’s friend William Ayers, firebombed my house. Barack Obama has dismissed concerns about his relationship with Ayers by noting that he was only a child when Ayers was planting bombs at the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol. But Ayers has never apologized for his crimes, he has reveled in them, expressing regret only for the fact that he didn’t do more.
“While Barack Obama once downplayed his relationship with Ayers, today his campaign took that deceit one step further. Barack Obama now denies he was even aware of his friend’s violent past when, in 1995, Ayers hosted a party launching Obama’s political career. Given Ayers’ celebrity status among the left, it’s difficult to believe. The question remains: what did Obama know, and when did he know it? When did Obama learn the truth about his friend? Barack Obama helped Ayers promote his book in 1997, served on charitable boards with him through 2002, and regularly exchanged emails and phone calls with him through 2005. At what point did Barack Obama discover that his friend was an unrepentant terrorist? And if he is so repulsed by the acts of terror committed by William Ayers, why did the relationship continue? Any honest accounting by Barack Obama will necessarily cast further doubt on his judgment and his fitness to serve as commander in chief.
“Barack Obama may have been a child when William Ayers was plotting attacks against U.S. targets — but I was one of those targets. Barack Obama’s friend tried to kill my family.”
In February 1970 John Murtagh’s father was a New York State Supreme Court justice presiding over the trial of the so-called “Panther 21,” members of the Black Panther Party indicted in a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores. Early on the morning of February 21, three gasoline-filled firebombs exploded at their home on the northern tip of Manhattan, two at the front door and the third tucked neatly under the gas tank of the family car. The same night, bombs were thrown at a police car in Manhattan and two military recruiting stations in Brooklyn. A few weeks after the attack, the New York contingent of the Weathermen blew themselves up making more bombs in a Greenwich Village townhouse. In late November that year, a letter to the Associated Press signed by Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers’s wife, promised more bombings.

Ok, I watched 3 of those videos... could they try to twist and bend people and events any more to try to make connections? I mean shit, I did a lot of drugs and drinking in my high school college years... who gives a fuck if Obama did? I have more of a problem with people who don\'t party hard in their teenage years.
So much fear mongering and bending of the truth in those videos it\'s kinda redickulous. McCain has a lot of shit in his past too if you do enough digging. If Obama has so many close ties to these people were are all the pictures of them together and videos and concrete evidence instead of propaganda bullshit?
So from this video I should believe the following:
Obama is a muslim
Obama is a terrorist
Obama is going to attempt to start a socialist revolution in America
Obama is under the control of Radical Extremist Groups
Andy Martin (who was in that video) has been tied to the massive chain email that declared that Obama is a muslim. You can\'t believe the shit these people spew from their mouths.
Oh, and just because something is made in a documentary format doesn\'t mean it can\'t be full of bullshit and false accusations.
Here\'s a quote from Sean Hannity\'s executive producer
Mr. Hannity’s executive producer, John Finley, said that the program was clearly opinion and that the audience — on average 1.5 million to 2 million — knew to take it as such. “ ‘Hannity’s America’ is an opinion show — it’s a show from Sean’s perspective, which is obviously conservative,” Mr. Finley said.
Speaking of Mr. Martin, he added, “It’s one man’s opinion, one of many that was expressed on the show.”
Mr. Martin said he was careful not to present his theories about Mr. Obama as proven fact.
-
Regardless of "your opinion"... there is truth to the videos.
-
only if you believe the horseshit these people put out there as "fact"... but I will respect your opinion, even if it is wrong.
Seems like only mindless sheep watch foxnews exclusively. I mean shit... don\'t you think something is up when they are the only media network out there coming up with this stuff??? I will admit that MSNBC is their extreme opposite... I support Obama and I find Olbermann, Maddow & Matthews are too far left to put much faith into what they say either. They must have fun in their little board rooms trying to find clever ways to get people to follow mindlessly.
I wouldn\'t have such a problem if you weren\'t making yourself to look like an ass trying to defend a supposed "documentary" on Obama. I\'m smart enough to know if MSNBC or whoever came up with some "documentary" on McCain I would see it as not much more than entertainment and a show to watch to make me feel better about my candidate.
The McCain campain is slowly dying....Nov. 4th can\'t come soon enough
-
I\'ll give you $20 to vote for McCain.
-
Nov 4th is meaningless to me. I lose either way. I just want people to know what their getting into.
Long live the Campaign for Liberty.

This is the type of garbage that McCain and Palin are spewing...and some idiots in the crowd are even calling Obama terrorist and even threats of kill him have been yelled out....the only fools that believe this nonsense is the base republicans and the mindless drones that actually believe Obama is a terrorist and want to cause him harm,...yes there are loonies from both sides,..but when you talk of killing somebody, the rhetoric has gone too far...

Your answer is a McCAin ad?.......there are no americans asking this question, except McCain and some republicans desperately trying to paint Obama\'s character in a negative light....if you ask anybody do they care, they will tell you that incident happened years ago when obama was a child. They worked on school improvement projects together and that\'s it.

I live in Maryland... so even if I wanted to vote for McCain it would be in vain. Democrats dominate the landscape here, for better or worse.

Bury your head in the sand clips.
Ayers launched Obama\'s political career. That says a lot.

Y\'know in my youth, i\'ve been around shady folks,..i\'ve even been around guys that at the drop of a dime will kick down your door and beat down everybody in it,...and possibly get shot in the process....but that has not affected me in my adulthood nor has it impacted my decision-making or how i will raise my kids...my point?...all of of us at some time or another have been around or known folks that are a bit shady, but we\'ve still grown up and lived as law abiding citizens and live our lives as the average american.
So again Obama may have known these folks, but as of late he has not said or done anything for you to believe that he supports these people or share their beliefs,...you yourself & the McCain crew have "0" evidence to prove otherwise...seriously, why do you think he\'s running these smear ads, right after the first debate?....riiight,..McCain has seen his numbers drop & and his own people in his campaign have stated that they want to direct the conversation from the economy to personal attacks on Obama...like i stated before McCain & Palin have nothing else to run on but to try and connect Obama with terrorists.

First - you are not running for president. Secondly, I have known about the Ayers connection for almost a year. The Republicans have known this all along and have now brought it to the front burner a month before the election so it is fresh in voters minds.
Besides Obama has more problems than just Ayers. He also has the ACORN problem. Didn\'t Obama also say a day or so ago that "an acorn doesn\'t fall far from the tree" ?

If Obama was part of ayers underground movement, then yes,..that would be an issue, if he was involved in the bombing that would be an issue...he hasn\'t,..people are trying to find something to stick since the republicans can\'t argue the economy and Obama can show that he can hold his own and maybe even better McCain on foreign policy. Look at the news, all you hear is McCain & palin trying to tie ayers with him,..nothing is being spoke of the economy,..well Obama is the only one talking about it.
Acorn?...i\'ve read of Obama\'s involvement and it was only for a brief moment, he represented them as a lawyer and won a case for them, that\'s it....and now they are being accused(spel) of voter fraud,....and i think there were acuisations(spel) of previous voter fraud that they were involved in but it wasn\'t proven....
Acorn at it\'s heart was supposed to be organization to get poor folks registered to vote, but it seems that they were involved in some fraudulent activities...whether or not Obama was further involved or whether he knew of it\'s activities is uncertain, because from what i understand this organization has quite a few branches, with each of them running independent of one another.
-

A subsidiary of the group was paid $800,000 by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama\'s campaign to register voters for the 2008 primaries, and ACORN\'s political wing endorsed Obama back in February. But Obama\'s campaign told CNN that it "is committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process," and said it has not worked with ACORN during the general election.
Brian Mellor, an ACORN attorney in Boston, said the group has its own quality-control process and has fired workers in the past -- including workers in Gary. But he said allegations that his organization committed fraud is a government attempt to keep people disenfranchised
Haha, a government attempt to keep people disenfranchised. Classic
Looks like Obama payed them 800k to fudge some votes. (kidding of course)

This is why i stated that this organization runs independent of each other. One branch can be registering folks legitimately while other branches are on some \'ol illegal s**t. I still don\'t see the reasoning behind this...are these folks afraid that there will be a repeat of what happened in florida back in 2000?....Fraud is always a concern in any election, even on the local level, but nobody should be engaging in practices such as these,....i mean how can they sit there and do this and actually think they won\'t get caught?.....Just register people legally and let the chips fall where they may.
-
Well the problem is there\'s a lot of stupid people out there. A rational person like you and I sit there and wonder why the fuck they\'d do this but they really thought it\'d work.....
They registered Jimmy Johns, lol.

That is Osama Obama\'s middle name isn\'t it? I do question the 0\'s patriotism as do a lot of Americans. The Democrats have divided this country since 2000. We have put up with 8 years of abuse and hate from the left. Now you whine when the shoe is on the other foot. Look forward to more hatred then you can imagine if Obama is elected. Obama is easiest person to hate and has so many flaws. Ayers, ACORN, Rezko, Wright. This is going to be fun.
-
Why is it wrong to say Barack Hussein Obama?
I thought that was his real name.
Giga, would you be offended if I called your candidate John Sidney McCain?
-

Come on, your well aware each time (vast majority of the time) his name gets mentioned its always with some negative overtone as if the name Hussein grants anyone with it some fuckin terrorist super powers.
Yes if there was a dictator or terrorist out there named Sidney who was as famous as Saddam and clips kept making posts about how you can\'t trust John McCain then you can bet Giga would be here complaining about it and you know its true, just like clips is here now.
You can call Barrack Hussein all you want, after all like you said it is his name. But your being silly if you sit and deny that people bring up Barrack\'s middle name without the intention of trying to make him look bad.

You\'re plain wrong on so many levels,...8 years of abuse?...people may not like bush, but i think you cross the line when you start talking of killing another presidential candidate or even calling him a terrorist,...both McCain and Obama are americans and such hatred should not be tolerated,....but it\'s not suprising hearing you say he\'s the easiest person to hate,....you\'re predicable in that sense. IMO i feel it\'s McCain\'s responsibility to tell his ignorant supporters to tone down the rhetoric a bit, cause one of those idiots might actually try to take certain matters into his or her own hands...and that would result in a really ugly situation, so instead of adding fuel to the fire, he needs to cool it down some before it escalates into something he cannot control.
He even had some ignorant older white woman grab a mic at one of his meetings and called Obama a muslim and an arab......McCain corrected her, but these are the kinds of folk that continue to believe what they want to believe, and the McCain crowd are full of these losers,..the intelligence level of those folks are beyond scary....at least the younger generation of folks (both black & white) are more tolerable of race than these older white folks...these folks still have that ignorant mindset of the 50\'s & 60\'s.
And joker,..i agree 110%....:fro:
-
...the intelligence level of those folks are beyond scary....at least the younger generation of folks (both black & white) are more tolerable of race than these older white folks...these folks still have that ignorant mindset of the 50\'s & 60\'s.
Ain\'t that the truth. From my experienced, I encounter some older racist white people than younger generations. Not saying I don\'t met nice old white people, but the percentage of old white people with a grudge is higher than younger generation.
A school that I used to went to, of all the 5 teachers I had in different subjects. Only one teacher is really nice and not racist, while 2 is somewhat nice and seemed to have a slight grudge, while the remaining 2 have higher grudge. Especially the last 1 of the 2 with the higher grudge. In comparison, the students I had in all 5 classes, there are like 30 students in each classes, and I haven\'t met a single student that have a grudge with me because of my race. They are either nice or neutral to me because they don\'t know me.
Well, maybe except a student who is middle eastern, he said he\'s Egyptian. I treated him with respect and I never insulted him, but he being a jerk about it called me names, and made fun of my race. So, I got a upset and called him name back. That doesn\'t bother me as much as the last teacher with the highest grudge because this student did it straight out instead of from behind. Thinking about it, I don\'t think this middle eastern or Egyptian descent student is racist, he\'s just half joking while in comparison, a teacher with the highest grudge is semi-racist, and too superficial and power hungry but acted like he\'s holy, and pretended to be a scapegoat, and acted nice to me in front of the classroom.
I remember one time he said something like this, "Believe in god. He\'s right in front of you." I can\'t remember words for words, but anyway, that time I was thinking did he considers himself a god or something? weird. But he didn\'t said straight out that he believes he\'s a god, but he was playing with words.
But honestly, I need to be clearer that whenever I don\'t have sinus pain, the memories don\'t come back and haunt me and put me in misery. I wish I don\'t have sinus pain so I don\'t have to suffer anymore, not just the pain alone but the memories of what happened back then that traumatized me whenever I had sinus pain.

:jacked:
-
yeah. sorry i was going a little off topic.

So rather than embrace his middle name, he wants to hide it?
I dunno, if I were Obama I\'d be like... "yeah, that\'s my middle name, so what?"
I dunno it just seems stupid for the Obama people to get offended for saying his freaking middle name.

Not everyone in this country is brimming with hate like you, Giga. In fact, judging from current polls, most of the country likes Senator Obama. There will always be pundits who nitpick everything an elected official does. In terms of approval ratings however, I think we\'re going to see a much better reaction from the public toward an Obama presidency then we have seen toward the Bush administration.

The lack of intelligence in this post simply amazes me.

Funny, I was just about to say the same thing about you.

You are a leech on our society. It would be better off without you. As far as the queer from Canada goes. You and Core can stroke each other off.
I bet you three were like the pussy\'s in high school I used to pick on. Turns out I was justified after all.
-
Use the middle name.
BUt when you start saying 0bama and Osama Obama, you got issues.
SEE: GIGA.
Osama Bin Biden. Nobama, 0bama. That fucker sure as hell won\'t be my president. I am glad all obligations to this country by me are done, which is more than I can say for most on here. Only an idiot would want some monkey named Obama to be our President.
-
It\'s people like you who have crippled the country into economic recession and supported outlandish foreign policy decisions. 0bamaamammama will be president, and hopefully you\'ll do the most patriotic thing for your country by using one of your many unnecessary guns and blow your head off with it.
Racism was so 50\'s btw. Get with the times. You can even reveal your gay lover to the public and not be shunned.

LMAO... It is so easy to get people riled up. I love this shit.

And the traditional GigaShadow pre-election meltdown commences...
-
LOL. 0bama still sucks and you are gay.
-
i find it interesting that your hated and clips love both stem from they fact that obama is black
the impressive display of racism that i predicted will show its self shortly, it may not happen till after the election but it will happen no matter who wins
-
I\'m just glad if some race riots break out that i\'m in the nice area of L.A.

Minus the fact no one is riled up. We\'re just watching you continue to spam the boards and become the American version of Uni.

It seems that when you moved further south(i.e. from alabama to texas) that is not the only thing that has transpired,..your level of intelligence has gone south as well....seriously every other post has you calling Obama names like you\'re still in elementary. And the logic now is that anybody with a funny name isn\'t fit to be prez?.......You\'re probably one of those mindless rednecks that think Obama is a muslim right?

I dislike Obama as much as the next guy... but this is getting out of hand.
-
It\'s been out of hand for awhile. Giga can\'t seem to make a post without some kind of racist comment . The only big difference is now, not only is he being a racist, but he is attacking members and simply going for "shock factor", adding NOTHING to the discussion.

It\'s been that way since I was a mod in here. That has to be at least 3-4 years ago. Just feel sorry for him and move on.

That is correct. You whine everything is racist blah blah blah. Until they make "hate" a crime fuck off. I don\'t like Obama for his politics and if I feel like making fun of his big ass ears, purple lips, his name and complexion I will. Label it what you will... I don\'t give a shit.
And clips if you want to talk about racism, while calling me a "red neck". Look in the mirror porch monkey.
-
whoops
ok,...ok,..I fixed it you grammar fiend!!....:D

On a serious note...
Clips you call people rednecks who hate Obama, ie. the ones from the videos you linked. You also call them racist and ignorant, when that is may not be the case. Sure the ones who call him a Muslim may be uninformed, but rednecks? Come on.
The reason there is so much hatred towards Obama is because of a few things:
1. His ties to radical leftists and racists.
2. His polices.
3. His lack of experience.
4. He comes from Chicago - the most corrupt city in regards to politics in the US.
5. His name, which has nothing to do with his skin color. If his name was Fred Jackson - it wouldn\'t even be an issue. The fact that the left gets upset when his middle name is used proves my point. You have to admit his name is a Muslim name - how else can someone interpret it? I have not heard John McCain once call Obama a Muslim. On the contrary, he has told everyone who questioned it that Obama is a Christian.
His color only amplifies the above reasons. This has nothing to do with a black or half white person running for office, but has everything to do with how far left Obama is. The right hates him for this.
Republicans have no problem with someones color - look at the Bush administration and see all of the people of color who hold high positions. More so than any other administration.
Your statements come across as "if you don\'t vote for Obama you are racist" - which is typical for the left to proclaim. I don\'t know if you mean it that way, but it feels like you do.
Why I also have a huge problem with Obama\'s campaign are his attempts to silence opposition or dissent. This is also a typical leftist tactic. The left has also shown no tolerance for freedom of speech. In fact they will usually shout you down if you do not agree with them. This is not a platform of "unity" imo.
I have given you a pass on your blind support for Obama because he is black and from what I can see there is no reasoning with most blacks on this issue.

Amazing - even when not trying to be a racist, you end the comment with a generally racist comment.
With that said - I want an athiest for President.

Wow because it is the truth it is racist? He is getting 95 percent of the black vote. Most of those people don\'t even know his platform! We have had this conversation before in case you have forgotten.
-
4. He comes from Chicago - the most corrupt city in regards to politics in the US.
is it wrong if this is the main reason i wouldnt vote for him?
-
What I am trying to get at is that race isn\'t an issue - with those of us on the right. There are many other reasons why people won\'t vote for him.
If there was a black Republican running against a white Democrat, Republicans would vote for the Republican.
The only group I hear playing the race card is the Obama campaign and his supporters on the left. For example - vandalizing a GOP headquarters in SC by spray painting "Republican means slavery" on it. Claiming Palin is racist because she wore white!?!?!
His name has nothing to do with being racist. It is a strange name that sounds very Islamic. Some people don\'t like that and I don\'t particularly like it as well, but it is not the only reason to vote against him.
As I outlined in my post - people don\'t like him for a variety of reasons. I just listed a few of my own and some I have heard from others. I couldn\'t care less what race a candidate is. What I care about are the issues and the candidates substance.
-
Were you on a drinking binge last week Giga? I\'m not really sure why any of us should bother to attempt a rational conversation with you after your name calling and insults.
You claim you don\'t care about a candidate\'s race, yet you are the one who called Obama a "monkey" in this forum. You\'re also the one continuing to blather about race over and over.
We don\'t care about it. Apparently you do.
-

Issues. Substance. And, also, how Islamic sounding a candidate\'s name is.

My point in posting those videos was to show that race is going to play a role in this election and that because the race is still generally close, those ignorant folks that are democratic hillary voters that now say will vote McCain are the one\'s that can tip the scale in McCains favor,...i could care less about the other folks that weren\'t going to vote for Obama because of his skin color anyway since they already had their mind made up, and yes... listening to them speak, i feel they are extremely racist and ignorant.
Blind support?...maybe part of the reason blacks are voting for him is indeed because he\'s black, but i think it\'s a bit more than that...blacks have traditionally voted democratic anyway and like i stated in other threads, these same black voters have voted for other various white democratic nominees with the same support given to Obama...but now since the democratic nominee happens to be black, all of a sudden all blacks are voting for him because he\'s black?...give the afri. american community a bit more credit than that okay?
His middle name?....i\'m not upset when people use it, but the folks on the conservative try to use as a weapon against Obama to try and connect him with saddam hussien...dictator/terrorist....to try and say he\'s unamerican and challenge his patriotism and to try and say he has a sympathetic ear with terrorists is just plain wrong. As i\'ve stated before maybe when he was born his father initially wanted to raise him as a muslim, but his father left him at the age of 2, so his mother ended up raising him as a a christian.
But people act like growing up as a muslim is bad thing...:p...plant that muslim seed in people\'s heads and they will think terrorist and 9/11....and as you\'ve seen people at McCains rallys have actually stated..."i\'m SCARED of an Obama Adminstration, cause he\'s an arab and a muslim"......Obama has been campaigning over 20 months now, and it\'s already been proven he\'s not a muslim, yet people continue to believe that he is muslim & McCain had to correct those idiotic folks at his rallys...all while Obama has been talking about the economy and what americans are worrying about today.
-
...give the afri. american community a bit more credit than that okay?
Nope. I didn\'t see black people on a daily basis wearing around white candidate\'s t-shirt.
-
Its funny watching people who know nothing about politics argue so intensively over it.
-
Nope. I didn\'t see black people on a daily basis wearing around white candidate\'s t-shirt.
It\'s possible to support the candidate because of his policies and also celebrate the historic event of an african american being elected president. That\'s the way I feel about it. The next time it happens, it won\'t be such a big deal.
BTW I also have a white Obama t-shirt. :)
-
Yeah I don\'t remember the black community being that enthusiastic about John Kerry. Maybe that\'s why he lost.
-
I want marijuana legalized. Now that\'s radical.
-
I want marijuana legalized. Now that\'s radical.
It definitely should be, especially for sick people who are suffering. I\'m not a user, but I do know this, making it illegal only puts money into the hands of criminals.
It\'s like when people argue with me on gun control. If you make guns illegal, then your taking them out of good people\'s hands and creating a black market for them. Criminals profit from things that are illegal.

BARONE: The coming liberal thugocracy
Michael Barone
COMMENTARY:
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors," Barack Obama told a crowd in Elko, Nev. "I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face." Actually, Obama supporters are doing a lot more than getting into people\'s faces. They seem determined to shut people up.
That\'s what Obama supporters, alerted by campaign e-mails, did when conservative Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg\'s WGN radio program in Chicago. Mr. Kurtz had been researching Mr. Obama\'s relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers in Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers in the Richard J. Daley Library in Chicago - papers that were closed off to him for some days, apparently at the behest of Obama supporters.
Obama fans jammed WGN\'s phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest e-mails. The message was clear to anyone who would follow Mr. Rosenberg\'s example. We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.
Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Mr. Obama that were "false." I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-\'02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Mr. Obama\'s ties to Mr. Ayers.
These attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals. Congressional Democrats sought to reimpose the "fairness doctrine" on broadcasters, which until it was repealed in the 1980s required equal time for different points of view. The motive was plain: to shut down the one conservative-leaning communications medium, talk radio. Liberal talk-show hosts have mostly failed to draw audiences, and many liberals can\'t abide having citizens hear contrary views.
To their credit, some liberal old-timers - like House Appropriations Chairman David Obey - voted against the "fairness doctrine," in line with their longstanding support of free speech. But you can expect the "fairness doctrine" to get another vote if Barack Obama wins and Democrats increase their congressional majorities.
Corporate liberals have done their share in shutting down anti-liberal speech, too. "Saturday Night Live" ran a spoof of the financial crisis that skewered Democrats like House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank and liberal contributors Herbert and Marion Sandler, who sold toxic-waste-filled Golden West to Wachovia Bank for $24 billion. Kind of surprising, but not for long. The tape of the broadcast disappeared from NBC\'s Web site and was replaced with another that omitted the references to Mr. Frank and the Sandlers. Evidently NBC and its parent, General Electric, don\'t want people to hear speech that attacks liberals.
Then there\'s the Democrats\' "card check" legislation that would abolish secret ballot elections in determining whether employees are represented by unions. The unions\' strategy is obvious: Send a few thugs over to employees\' homes - we know where you live - and get them to sign cards that will trigger a union victory without giving employers a chance to be heard.
Once upon a time, liberals prided themselves, with considerable reason, as the staunchest defenders of free speech. Union organizers in the 1930s and 1940s made the case that they should have access to employees to speak freely to them, and union leaders like George Meany and Walter Reuther were ardent defenders of the First Amendment.
Today\'s liberals seem to be taking their marching orders from other quarters. Specifically, from the college and university campuses where administrators, armed with speech codes, have for years been disciplining and subjecting to sensitivity training any students who dare to utter thoughts that liberals find offensive. The campuses that once prided themselves as zones of free expression are now the least free part of our society.
Obama supporters who found the campuses congenial and Mr. Obama himself, who has chosen to live all his adult life in university communities, seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech they don\'t like and seem utterly oblivious to claims this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment. In this campaign, we have seen the coming of the Obama thugocracy, suppressing free speech, and we may see its flourishing in the four or eight years ahead.

Will you guys get yer thongs outta yer ass?...if you make over $250,000 a year you will get taxed, and even then it would be rolled back to the taxes of when clinton was prez....he has not said anything differently....why are you guys acting like this is new?...and furthermore do you make over $250,000?....he\'s not going to put those people that do make that much in the poor house by proposing this plan.
Stop thinking that this plan helps only those that are lazy in the ghetto and trailer parks, this helps hard working middle class folks that are struggling to make ends meet. Those folks that go to work everyday with 401k plans, that pay their mortgage on time, and trying to find ways to send their kids to college....that is the tax plan\'s main focus...
Nope. I didn\'t see black people on a daily basis wearing around white candidate\'s t-shirt.

I\'m pretty sure they said that was just Obama playing with numbers seeing as 1/3 of the country already doesn\'t pay taxes.

Quote of what Obama said:
Plumber to Obama: “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more. Isn’t it?”
Obama: “It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too. I think that when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”
Sorry, that is socialism. No two ways about it. "It is unpatriotic to be successful." This is the second time the Obama Biden ticket has promised to raise taxes.
clips you don\'t understand. Most small business owners make over 250k a year. How many "rich" plumbers to you know clips? I bet they hang out at the country club with all the CEOs and doctors. You don\'t raise taxes in an already struggling economy.

Don\'t know if Kennedy posted this, but it goes along with the above comment by Obama, except on a global level.
Obama\'s Global Tax
By INVESTOR\'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Tuesday, July 29, 2008 4:20 PM PT
Election \'08: A plan by Barack Obama to redistribute American wealth on a global level is moving forward in the Senate. It follows Marxist theology — from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
IBD Series: The Audacity Of Socialism
We are citizens of the world, Sen. Obama told thousands of nonvoting Germans during his recent tour of the Middle East and Europe. And if the Global Poverty Act (S. 2433) he has sponsored becomes law, which is almost certain if he wins in November, we\'re also going to be taxpayers of the world.
Speaking in Berlin, Obama said: "While the 20th century taught us that we share a common destiny, the 21st has revealed a world more intertwined than at any time in human history."
What the 20th century really showed was a series of totalitarian threats — from fascism to Nazism to communism — defeated by the U.S. military. Hitler\'s Germany, Mussolini\'s Italy, Tojo\'s Japan and the Soviet Union offered destinies we did not share.
Our destiny of peace and freedom through strength was not achieved by a transnationalist fantasy of buying the world a Coke and singing "Kumbaya."
Obama\'s Global Poverty Act offers us a global socialist destiny we do not want, one that challenges America\'s very sovereignty. The former "post-racial" candidate obviously intends to be a post-national president.
A statement from Obama\'s office says: "With billions of people living on just dollars a day around the world, global poverty remains one of the greatest challenges and tragedies the international community faces. It must be a priority of American foreign policy to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter and clean drinking water."
These are worthy goals, but note there\'s no mention of spreading democracy, expanding free trade, promoting entrepreneurial capitalism or ridding the world of despots who rule and ravage countries such as Zimbabwe and Sudan.
Obama would give them all a fish without teaching them how to fish. Pledging to cut global poverty in half on the backs of U.S. taxpayers is a ridiculous and impossible goal.
His legislation refers to the "millennium development goal," a phrase from a declaration adopted by the United Nations Millennium Assembly in 2000 and supported by President Clinton.
It calls for the "eradication of poverty" in part through the "redistribution (of) wealth of land" and "a fair distribution of the earth\'s resources." In other words: American resources.
It\'s a mantra of liberals that the U.S. is only a small portion of the world\'s population yet consumes an unseemly portion of the planet\'s supposedly finite resources. Never mentioned is the fact that America\'s population, just 5% of the world\'s total, also produces a stunning 27% of the world\'s GDP — to the enormous benefit of other countries. Nonetheless, their solution is to siphon off the product of our free democracy and distribute it.
We already transfer too much national wealth to the United Nations and its busybody agencies. Obama\'s bill would force U.S. taxpayers to fork over 0.7% of our gross domestic product every year to fund a global war on poverty, spending well above the $16.3 billion in global poverty aid the U.S. already spends.
Over a 13-year period, from 2002, when the U.N.\'s Financing for Development Conference was held, to the target year of 2015, when the U.S is expected to meet its part of the U.N. Millennium goals, we would be spending an additional $65 billion annually for a total of $845 billion.
During a time of economic uncertainty, the plan would cost every American taxpayer around $2,500.
If you\'re worried abut gasoline and heating oil prices now, think what they\'ll be like when the U.S. is subjected in an Obama administration to global energy consumption and production taxes. Obama\'s Global Poverty Act is the "international community\'s" foot in the door.
The U.N. Millennium declaration called for a "currency transfer tax," a "tax on the rental value of land and natural resources," a "royalty on worldwide fossil energy production — oil, natural gas, coal . . . fees for the commercial use of the oceans, fees for the airplane use of the skies, fees for the use of the electromagnetic spectrum, fees on foreign exchange transactions, and a tax on the carbon content of fuels."
Co-sponsors of S. 2433 include Democrats Maria Cantwell of Washington, Dianne Feinstein of California, Richard Durbin of Illinois and Robert Menendez of New Jersey. GOP globalists supporting the bill include Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and Richard Lugar of Indiana.
Lugar has worked with Obama to promote more aid to Russia to promote nuclear nonproliferation. Lugar also promotes the Law of the Sea treaty, which turns over the world\'s oceans to an International Seabed Authority that would charge us to drill offshore and have veto power over the movements and actions of the U.S. Navy.
Obama\'s agenda sounds like defeated 2004 Democratic candidate John Kerry\'s "global test" for U.S. foreign policy decisions where "you have to do it in a way that passes the test — that passes the global test — where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you\'re doing what you\'re doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons."
Obama has called on the U.S. to "lead by example" on global warming and probably would submit to a Kyoto-like agreement that would sock Americans with literally trillions of dollars in costs over the next half century for little or no benefit.
"We can\'t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama has said. "That\'s not leadership. That\'s not going to happen."
Oh, really? Who\'s to say we can\'t load up our SUV and head out in search of bacon double cheeseburgers at the mall? China? India? Bangladesh? The U.N.?
In an Obama White House, American sovereignty will become an endangered species. The Global Poverty Act is the first toe in the water of global socialism.

This is what we who don\'t like Obama, don\'t like. Our tax money going to the world???????!?!?!?!?!?!?????
-
Our fucking tax money goes to the world anyway........We fund relief, wars, and what not, all over the globe.
-
Our fucking tax money goes to the world anyway........We fund relief, wars, and what not, all over the globe.
Read the article. Obama\'s tax is on top of what we already give.
-
So that is not a big surprise at all. Both sides add on every year. Don\'t grasp, it makes you look desperate.
-
LOL - no desperation. Obama wants to take our money and give it to the poor. Redistribution of wealth. Socialism. Some may call it Marxism.
-
I never knew 250k was poor.....Hell, I think those in that bracket should be hit as well. 250k is a very comfortable life.
Most I have seen from him helps the HARD working class, not the welfare class.

Maybe you have trouble reading. Most small business owners make over 250k. 250k isn\'t that much depending on which part of the country you live. You should know this...
-
Yup, I have lived in 2 very expensive areas and I lived comfortably with 70k. 250k is very comfortable if one lives within their means.
Those same small business also get a shitload of writeoffs that make it much, MUCH easier for them to profit AND default on.
-
It depends on what your definition of middle class is as well. Living in an apartment is fine on 70k in a place like Chicago. Try buying a home in Redmond Washington while making 70k.
-
*dunno* I know Miami is mad expensive to live and own in. eyes guess i bessa axe massa fo mo moenyz cuz im finnah DEEfault onz mah homes y0.
-
Dude, 250k is comfortable even if you\'re living in Manhattan.
-
250k is comfortable for a 2 income household with a handful of kids....
P.S. Socialism is bad.
-
Socialism is good.
I guess the US isn\'t patriotic enough. Probably a bunch of gays unwilling to make the next step. And it prevents terrorists.
-
If you can\'t be comfortable on 250K, then you really did to rethink how you live.
-

That\'s what poor people say. I want to own a yacht, a chalet in the mountains, own a condo overlooking Central Park, buy exotic sports cars,etc......the property and sales taxes should cover your pinko communist asses. But you want to tax me more?
Get a job. Build me a condo. Or move to Kalifornistan.
-

Exactly...as far as the Obama article goes,...luckee already responded in a way that reflects my views, in the sense that we are already giving alot to these countries in general anyway and it\'s nothing new. I think when Obama was making those speeches overseas he was generally just trying to say that america needs to be the leader in the world again.

OMG NO!!!!!
Why the hell does everyone think its ok for the government to dip their hands into the citizen\'s pockets? We need to reduce the government, not empower it.
People are entitled to whatever they make. I\'m a firm believer that we should have a uniform tax code that taxes everyone equally. We need to eliminate the income tax and just have a national sales tax.
By redistributing wealth the government is saying... ok you bottom feeders, you can live beyond your means now thanks to the wealthy.
Rather than taxing personal income, which assumes that the government owns individuals\' lives and labor, the federal government should be funded through excise taxes and/or uniform, non-protectionist tariffs. (ala Ron Paul method)
God liberals make me angry. Stay out of my pockets.

The middle class is supposed to be comfortable. Isn\'t it? 250K is not that much money. Especially if you have a family. Sure you can live comfortably, but it is by no means "rich". All you supporting this have yet to address the small business owners that earn over 250k.

Leader does not mean handing them money or giving our tax money to poor countries. Sorry.

Marxist son of muslim! I bet Obama doesn\'t even eat bacon! Now that\'s just un-Christiand and VERY Anti-American.
I condone what Jesse Jackson said, cut off his balls.

JBean, those weren\'t radicals, they were racists
If that\'s what its like in PA Obama has no chance of winning there.

Some were racist, some were misinformed and others were right. The ones shouting socialism were correct.
The guy saying that an Obama Presidency wouldn\'t have a cross section of America in his administration is partially right. No, there won\'t be any Wrights or Jesse Jacksons, but there will be a ton of far left libs.

yep,..these are the types of A**holes, that are lining up at McCain\'s and Palins town hall meetings...and yet we have another idiot saying that Obama is a terrorist,....and another racist asshole with a monkey doll with Obama around his head.....if Obama becomes prez, what are these racist pricks going to do? Hopefully they\'ll jump off a bldg or a cliff due to them suffering from the trauma of actually having a black president.....that s**t pisses me off to the highest degree.

Most believe McCain\'s attacks on Obama unfair, poll finds
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/20/poll.crisis/ (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/20/poll.crisis/)
(CNN) -- A growing number of Americans believe John McCain has attacked Barack Obama unfairly, a negative perception of the Arizona senator that could cost him at the polls on Election Day.
According to a new survey from CNN and the Opinion Research Corp., nearly six in 10 Americans believe McCain has unfairly gone negative in his bid for the White House. That percentage is significantly higher than it was in September, when just 42 percent thought the Republican presidential nominee was running an overly negative campaign.
This is what McCain gets for listening to people like you, Giga. People told him to "Attack Attack Attack" and of course that was exactly the wrong course of action. After 8 years of a republican president fucking shit up, people want to hear what you\'re going to do to solve the problems, not more about your opponent\'s guilt by association with other unsavory individuals.
-
The "attacks" look childish and smell of last moment desperation. Even if that is not how they are intended, that is how they come off. It\'s just simple logic. No one likes a bully and that is the card McCain is currently playing.

LMAO a poll!!!!! Obvious oversampling of democrats or liars - wait they are the same. I can\'t believe you post this shit. You and your kind fuck shit up Core. Obama offers more taxes, more spending and you think that is great. Socialism is great! More government! You are such a dumb fuck. Why don\'t you send Obama the title to your S2000? I am sure he expects that of you.

You must have a lot of self hate there buddy.

Wow these are some crazy things Obama was caught saying on a candid camera. I actually didn\'t believe most of the stuff but......hes saying things about being pro-marxist with an Islamic-Jihadist twist on it. This is some scary stuff and will surely turn the election around! :o

That would be awful. For every boss who would live just fine, there\'d be like 30 employees living in poverty.
But I guess if you like the idea of royalty and peasants being our two classes, that\'d be great.
Wonder how much food you\'d be able to buy with a what, 60, 70% sales tax (enough to cover whatever you already pay in taxes plus the difference of the larger amount currently shouldered by the wealthy), and just how much of that tax would benefit the people who were already rich.
Seriously though, that\'s an awful idea.
Let\'s have a rule of thumb where, if your tax code for the nation can be typed up on one side of a business card, it sucks.

As I recall, Mr. Bush presided over the largest increase in government spending in 30 years. But that\'s the GOP way: Say one thing and do another.
http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=3750 (http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=3750)
President Bush has presided over the largest overall increase in inflation-adjusted federal spending since Lyndon B. Johnson. Even after excluding spending on defense and homeland security, Bush is still the biggest-spending president in 30 years.
It\'s hilarious how you can still repeat those empty conservative phrases like "More government!" when 4 year ago, Bush was your buddy. You were 100% behind him, and anyone who didn\'t support the president was an America-hater. Are you still so enamored of the great Bush legacy? Would you care to admit you were wrong? I doubt it.

I wonder how much of that was increased in the past two years???

Let\'s have a rule of thumb where, if your tax code for the nation can be typed up on one side of a business card, it sucks.
Where are you getting those numbers from. I believe the tax rate was going to be 35% under his plan.
Considering the government takes a third of my paycheck every year (plus money owed during tax season), I\'d say that\'s a heck of a lot fairer than what we currently have. I\'d only be taxed when I spend money, not when I earn it.
EDIT: Actually, I\'m going to have to correct myself even further. After doing some research I saw that his plan does NOT include a national sales tax, rather he\'d just cut wasteful spending. The IRS, Fed, these are all agencies that could go. We just need to cut back spending.
-
So unemployment is another part of the grand solution.
-
What? Where are you getting this from?
There would be more jobs since private businesses wouldn\'t be taxed nearly as much.
-
Wow, this is a brilliant analogy of our current tax system.
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1. The sixth would pay $3. The seventh would pay $7. The eighth would pay $12. The ninth would pay $18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that\'s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. \'Since you are all such good customers,\' he said, \'I\'m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.\'Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his \'fair share?\' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody\'s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man\'s bill by roughly the same amount and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings). The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings). The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings). The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to dri nk for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.
\'I only got a dollar out of the $20,\'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,\' but he got $10!\' \'Yeah, that\'s right,\' exclaimed the fifth man. \'I only saved a dollar, too. It\'s unfair that he got ten times more than I!\' \'That\'s true!!\' shouted the seventh man. \'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!\'
\'Wait a minute,\' yelled the first four men in unison. \'We didn\'t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!\'
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn\'t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn\'t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
Thank you David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D. Professor of Economics University of Georgia.

The beer represents all government programs - WIC, war, social security, road improvements, defense, federal salaries, all of it. Things that affect all Americans and sometimes the world. Given that, the current system is much more fair than what\'s shown in that example, and it raises (in theory) the money needed for all those expenses, despite how wacky it seems if it were applied only to beer.
If we were all just buying actual beers, then your professor would be on to something - but that\'s already been addressed, which is why sales tax (including for beer) is already the same no matter what your income level.
For frivilous spending, we have a shared sales tax. But for the stuff we need, we can\'t ask the poor to pay money they don\'t have, which is the point.
When it comes to the real world application and income tax, we can\'t hit everyone equally since everyone doesn\'t have equally. It\'s not possible for everyone to have equally... unless we switch to socialism. If we did socialism, your ideas would work a lot better, no?
And it has to be a tax on income rather than spending because if people hoarded their money, which people do, our nation would be broke.
Anyway, you can\'t hit the poor for more than they\'ve got, so if the rich don\'t want to give more, we need to cut federal spending and programs and unecessary funding and that\'s something I agree we should do more of before anything else.
-
You missed the point of the article though. Those at the bottom are bitching about not getting their fair share while in reality they aren\'t even paying taxes so they have no right to complain to begin with.
-
That shit just ain\'t ever gonna happen ever since democracy gave the middle class or "poor" the vote. Not that it makes sense to begin with.
I think you\'re views and Ron Paul are a little out of place in this world. You might have more success in the 18th and 19th centuries though.

ugh... liberals
We should be sticking to the principals for which this country was founded on.

Bunch of marxist pinko liberals in this forum.

Actually there\'s nothing in the constitution about slavery, that was more of culture issue than a legal issue.
Why do you hate this country so much?
If you like socialism/communism so much why do you move to Cuba or China? Right, because they treat their citizens like shit.
-
Don\'t change the subject. Your/Ron\'s ideas are outdated and inapplicable in the US.
I don\'t hate the US, I love it all my internet forum buddies live there and it produces most of my past times (tv, porn) better than any other country.
I live in Canada, it\'s socialist probably by your definition.

Aren\'t they going to cut down on the health care funding? At least that\'s what I read a year ago. More and more people are getting tired of getting fleeced by your growing fatty sick population.
-
No they are going to increase health care funding...the Conservative government that is. Both parties are committed to the health care issue. Lobbyists go to the US for that.

Please take our fat people.

Fat people make up for the diabetes and heart surgery costs by spending money on food.
That\'s gotta make sense.

You dodged a question. If you truly want communism go live in a socialist country like cuba or China... then come back and tell me how much you love socialism/communism.
I live in NYC, probably the most socialist like city in the country, and it sucks, state and city taxes are ridiculous since Guliani left office.
-
I didn\'t dodge shit. Unlike you, who continues to dodge by making stupid points I don\'t care about. But since I like to argue
CANADA IS A SOCIALIST COUNTRY BY YOUR DEFINITION
So are most Western European countries too. How do they work out? Know anything about the quality of life in Canada? Know anything besides the 1776 garbage Ron Paul spews out and you swallow down?
At least your better than Giga. When he\'s proving wrong he just takes a leave of absence from the forum and comes back with new garbage. Normally I like persistence but you border on something else.
Cuba\'s infant mortality rate is higher than the US\'s I think. China is becoming the next superpower.
-
ugh... liberals
You do know that the sweeping changes you\'re pitching as Ron Paul\'s ideas (I don\'t follow him, so you\'re representing all of my knowledge about the guy) are pretty f\'in liberal.
i.e. 1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
If you\'re not happy with the way things are or how they\'re going. Then reform is your baby, not ours.
We might kick around some tax codes and health care ideas, but a sweeping overhaul of the whole works? That\'s pretty liberal.
-
I guess I\'ll split this up into two...
Jumpman, Canada is a democracy, and they have a mixed economy, just like the US. While they exhibit slightly more socialist qualities, they are not a socialist country. As far as my personal definition, yes I consider redistribution of wealth socialism, but I would argue that the US is more socialist than Canada, and I\'ve done some research:
http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?q=5516.3835.0.0
Over the past couple of years, U.S. officials have cried foul over Vladimir Putin’s state-orchestrated takeovers of the private sector—repeatedly criticizing him for grabbing oil and energy companies and military manufacturers. But in a way you have to give Putin credit. At least he seized companies that boosted government revenues. Fannie and Freddie have the potential to become a black hole sucking up hundreds of billions of tax dollars.
Is that what you democrats consider a good investment? Yes I know Bush pushed for the bill as well, but as I\'ve stated, he\'s not exactly my favorite person, and hardly a traditional conservative.
You did dodge the question the first time, but answered it the second time. If I have dodged any questions, please lay them out and I will answer them as best I can.
Examples of socialist states:
USSR - do I even need to get into this?
China - yes they are on the verge of being the world\'s superpower, but how do their citizen\'s fare? Personal rights are an afterthought there... one child per family, censorship, government controls the media and internet over there, not to mention they lead the world in capital punishment. Yikes! You may like that kind of life, but I certainly don\'t.
Cuba - and here are their feelings on human rights... torture, arbitrary imprisonment, unfair trials, extra-judicial executions.
Laos - yay! their economy is funded by drugs!
The point is there\'s a lot less communist states than there used to be, and for good reason, it doesn\'t work. China may be the exception, but at what cost?
Eiksirf -
when I say liberals I\'m referring to the people, not the ideology. Ron Paul\'s economic ideas are very liberal, but not his social ideas. This is probably more of mistake on my part for lumping liberals into one category. I like to correct people when they call Bush and McCain conservatives because their not, they\'re neocons, which is pretty much the same thing as a democrat. I should just cut out the middle man and call it for what they are, republicrats. Because no matter who wins this election, I lose.

How is personal freedom inapplicable in the US? When did liberty and choice become outdated? Why is non-intervention a bad foreign policy? Why is the gold standard a bad economic policy?
-
How is pro life choice? And hey Ron, how about loosening up on your anti gun control policies mmm? Non intervention works, plus one for thinking what most do.
None of these big philosophies and ideas are usable in the US today. Tossing out bright and colorful words like liberty and freedom stimulates positive output while socialism scares, basic politics bs. Guess what happens when you make less government...the economy eventually collapses. Time and time again we\'ve seen this. People can\'t run themselves. Never raise taxes are you serious? Getting rid of most government programs wah...
The gold standard...no idea what that is. A new form of slave labor?
-
I personally am Pro-Life, but as far as government goes, it should really be the states decision whether abortion is legal or not.
Our current gun control system keeps guns in the hands of criminals and out of citizens who want it for self defense. Logic fail on your part.
Guess what happens when you make less government...the economy eventually collapses.
Biggest assumption ever, and incorrect. Our current situation was caused by too much government involvement, oh that\'s right, I guess you didn\'t watch those videos I posted. (http://www.psx2central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40764) You probably thought they were bullshit and didn\'t feel like watching them, way to stay informed.
Go look up austrian economics and you\'ll see how misinformed your statement is.
-
The gold standard...no idea what that is. A new form of slave labor?
Again, way to be informed.
-
I don\'t have time to look into some nobody\'s 1776 influenced policy choices. He ain\'t President, he\'ll never be President, and thankfully his views are only shared by those in no position to assert influence over others in power. CAMPAIGN FOR NOTHING...cause nothing will ever come out of it get it? Pretty catchy. Maybe I\'ll start a CAMPAIGN FOR AWESOME and it\'ll catch on with the 18-29 demo.
State decision is a cheap cop out. Make a national decision and stick with it. Or uphold R v W, pretty simple.
Gun control...broken either way. Why Americans need guns in the first place I don\'t know. If the English invade again then maybe you have something.
I\'m going from past collapses. You know, using actual pieces of evidence. Not spouting off some random lines about liberty and freedom with no empirical data suggesting a success rate.
-
You mean, such as the dollar gaining value and Americans becoming more wealthy until we went off the gold standard?
