This is a day 1 purchase for me.
Anyone else getting it?
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6199023.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1
-
yup, for PS3 though
-
got that and farcry 2 pre-ordered
-
Bethesda know what they are doing.
I fully expect this game to be the bee\'s knees.
-
If this game sucks i\'m going to personally kill every developer\'s mother and burn down their house........
-
im always paranoid about games too. im afraid im going to get burned by farcry and fallout..farcry more-so since noone\'s really talking about it with games like gears 2 and lbp getting all the forum-talk.
-
Preordered the 360 version. I don\'t buy very many games lately but I\'m definitely looking forward to this one.
-
Tpb Org Ftw?
-
Tpb Org Ftw?
Trade paperback Organization?
Yes.
For the win.

question..if i never got to playing oblivion or the other fallouts, i mainly play fps\'s, and the closest thing to an rpg i\'ve played is mass effect (which i loved), is there a high chance i wont like fallout?
I was kind of anticipating fallout to be like mass effect in terms of balance between rpg and shooter, but a lot of fallout fans are quick to point out that fallout is nothing like a normal shooter and that its a lot more rpg based. was hoping the new camera and everything would take it more into the shooter genre
-
The appeal of the fallout series is the almost limitless amount of character customization and world exploration involved. You could play the first two a dozen times and find something new every time. It simply wasn\'t possible to create a super character that could solve every problem that the game presented.
As far as the combat is concerned, from what i\'ve seen you can play the game as more of a shooter where you just aim and click or the classic way where you pick which area you want to shoot at and it\'ll give you a chance to hit percentage.
As long as i can still be a pornstar in this one I\'ll be happy.

Just my guess... but I think Fallout 3 is gonna be alot like mass effect.
-
guy i work with went to the launch party last week, said he was kind of disappointed by the graphics. I don\'t think he got a chance to actually play it though, he was more concerned with the open bar.
-
I was extremely excited about this at first,...now i\'m taking a wait & see approach as i\'m really not that big a fan of rpgs,... i\'ll still most likely pick it up at some point, for ps3. I\'m also hoping for a mass effect release on the ps3.
-
anyone play it yet? i\'ve never played a fallout but i\'m interested in trying it perhaps
-
Yeah I got it... I\'m still kinda in the tutorial stages though so who knows what its gonna be like when I leave the vault.
Haven t played it too much yet but my initial feeling is that its Oblivion in the future. Which is fine by me, cause Oblivion was amazing.
-
I have it as well. Installed it, but haven\'t played it yet. From reading the manual though, unlike Oblivion - the game does indeed end at some point. Lots to do though. Really looking forward to it.

Oblivion ends also once you do the main quest. Also, there are only so many guilds you can do it.
-
I think he means once you finish the main storyline, the game actually ends... Like says "the end" and you have to start over.
In Oblivion even after you finish the main storyline you could just go wander around and do whatever you want. Not the case here.
Played for a few more hours last night... Loving the game.
The setting is fantastic.

Yes, that is what I meant. Supposedly when it ends it ends. The replay value is really good from what I have read since it is impossible to do everything in 1 game.
The only downer is that there is no hot lesbian action in it. ;)
-
Maybe they will release a patch.
"Hot Lesbo Action V.1.2"
-
I just bought the game off of Steam. Should be ready to play in 6 hours...fuck.
-
Mine is done downloading and installing some updates.
Busy time for games... Still leveling in WoW, got Fable 2 and now this.
-
Fable 2 is console only right?
-
Yes and it sucks.
-
Well I replayed the vault twice and then my computer crashed :( Going from the beep code it now makes (the tower makes a 7 second sustained beep, pauses, repeats) I think its a bad stick of memory. It is at a PC shop my friend owns right now, hopefully he can figure it out and I can get it back sometime this weekend. On the backup now and no more Fallout 3 :(
The second time I replayed the vault, at my birthday party when Butch tried to steal my sweetroll I made fun of his mom for using the welfare coupons to buy booze, then I tattled on him to Officer Gomez when he hit me and got him in trouble. What a faggot.
-
Nuked Megaton.
Hope there wasn\'t anything in that town I needed.
-
Your a bastard LIC. A dirty bastard.
did it look sweet?
I only got to the part where I accepted the quest to disarm the bomb
-
ever since i saw the video i havent been able to decide whether to nuke it or not. i want to see the nuke, but i also like to make decisions how id normally make decisions and not nuke it.
think mine will be in the mail some time late next week
-
*spoiler kinda*
I really want to kill The Overseer but I also want to bang Amata some time in the future. Don\'t know what to do.
-
I\'m pretty sure you have no choice but to kill the overseer.
-
No I got by it without killing him, I saved the game directly in front of the computer terminal and kept reloading until I got the password right.
Password is Amata. You can then leave without killing her dad.
-
dammit.
-
I figure i`m gonna end up having at least 2 characters. 1 to play as a good guy and 1 to play as a bad guy. Next time I play i`m gonna blow his head off.
EDIT:
woot, I disarmed the nuke and got my own house in the city! :D
I also banged Nova in Moriarity\'s saloon
-
picking it up tomorrow, currently to involved with farcry2, deadspace and brothers in arms hells highway. So i probably won\'t be playing it straight away.
-
Uhm..
I killed everyone in the Vault..I mean, everyone.
As for the town - yeah, I nuked it...
The Ghouls and traders I meet in the world...Yea, I wait and shoot them in the back of the head.
Bad karma.
-
Doesn\'t surprise me
-
did anyone get the quest to retrieve the Declaration of Independence from someone in Rivet City? if so...where did you find it? I\'m googling it but not getting a straight answer
-
Yeah I did that quest... It was at some museum. When I get home I can look and give you a definite answer.
Have you gone to the mall yet? the underworld?
-
No, I haven\'t found the mall yet. I apparently skipped the section where you go to the radio station, looking for that place at the moment.
-
its in a building south west of the capitol building. you have to go thru the subway thats near the rivet city catwalk
-
You find it?
-
Aye I found it thank you very much. I thought I responded to this thread but I guess I didn\'t lol is the radiostation the GNR building?
-
yup yup.
-
How do you get to the radio building? I have yet to get over there. I cleaned out the old police station in Germantown which is fun. Supermutants!
-
I think you gotta take a subway to get there.
I remember just wandering around and finding it so maybe I just got lucky.
-
got it in the mail today
such a bad time between 1 project and 3 tests between now and monday..
random question- i bought it for ps3 before i knew it was inferior to 360. does walmart do exchanges with games with no receipts? (i havent opened it yet) i bought it on toysrus.com but i dont think i can return it at toysrus since i got it for a discount and you need a receipt there.
-
This game is so much like Oblivion - the whole framework is the same with a new skin and a few new features. Not that this is a bad thing - Oblivion was damn fun!
-
Yeah I have no problem with that. Oblivion is one of my all time favorite games.
-
As much as I love Oblivion, I just can\'t get into Fallout 3. I mean, it\'s impressive, but for some reason, I turn it on, play it five minutes and lose interest.
-
finally got a chance to start playing it.
it\'s pretty cool. still not fully my type of game since the shooting parts right now are 100% me trying to conserve ammo, which is hard as hell to do in this game.
wasn\'t insanely engrossed by it but 5 hours still managed to fly by while playing it
-
Having the same problem, I simply can\'t get engrossed in it. When I played Oblivion, I didn\'t bother with the gates, until I done every side story that was possible for me. I was just engrossed in that world, this one, I don\'t know, it just doesn\'t seem as appealing.
-
complete turnaround for me and this game. still not totally sunk into the setting of a post-apocalyptic, futuristic 1950\'s feel thats supposed to be a huge part of the experience..but im completely into the gameplay.
when i was in the city with all the fire ants and no ammo, i felt like i was regretting buying this over gears/lbp/etc, but after running into the brotherhood of steel and being able to use good weapons, im loving the game. i dont think shooting ghouls in the head with that bolt-action rifle will ever get old

Where the hell is this Brotherhood? I\'ve just went thru the sewers trying to find the radio tower and soon as I walk out of the sewers, a bunch of Super Mutants kill me.
-
im not sure what station is called what. basically i was doing the \'follow your footsteps\' mission going to the GNR building following the dotted line, using the sewers. then i came out the station where the dotted line told me, took a left (i think..iv been getting lost in the stations) around some buildings to stay away from people and ran into them.
they were doing a raid on some super-mutants mutants that were threatening the GNR building
if you went to the GNR building i would think you would have to have run into them or saw them. they dont shoot you so i started talking to everyone. find the blonde chick with no helmet, shes the leader to talk to
(im not in the brotherhood..but i followed them around and helped so i didnt have to kill 5+ super mutants on my own)
i also ran into a skirmish at the station closest to the doctor in the sewers. got a flamethrower from that
-
Meeting the brotherhood is part of the quest to go to the GNR building.
I think I\'m about at the end of the main quest line, so I\'m taking my time and doing some side quests.
Still loving the game, but its still not as good as oblivion was... just not as much to do.

Why can\'t we post videos in this forum? I tried to embed a video but it doesn\'t come up in here but it does in Off-Topic.

anyone else find it really fucking annoying that its impossible to travel above ground? every single path in an area is blocked by debris.
i like the game a lot but it really kills the traveling aspect of the game
-
Haven\'t really had an issue with it. Got about half way through the game before school caught up to me. Plan on finishing sometime this century.
-
Some areas of the map are wide open and intended for surface travel. Other areas are choked with debris, and intended for very specific routes through the metro tunnels. It\'s only annoying if you try to find a specific point without a quest to guide you. If you have the quest selected, you can follow the dotted lines to the correct metro entrances.
Of course once you find a location you can just fast travel to it, and it ceases to be an annoyance.
I guess they were limited in the amount of data they could cram into a DVD, so they couldn\'t design the entire downtown area.
-
I finally purchased this....and while the game is about as graceful as two left feet,(i play in 3rd person)...i\'m really liking the post-apocolyptic scenery....i just came out of the shelter and i\'m doing "follow his footsteps", but i took a detour to springdale elementary school and i\'m just killing the "raiders" as they\'re called in there.
I only use the VATS system in this game when shooting, and the melee combat can be incredibly awkward at times....but i like how the game is kinda wide open,....my only question is...how do you build up your AP so that you can have a sizable amount to use for the VATS system?...i found myself running out of AP waaay too quickly when i\'m fighting enemies.
-
XP through leveling up and this stuff called Jet that i never use. I usually do half and half, shoot with first person and finish them off with VATS or vice versa
i really dont know how you\'re playing in third person, lol
-
I explore in 3rd person...and i also shoot in 3rd person, but i only get off a couple of shots before i go into the VATS system. Thanks for the info. :fro:
-
The game is much better in first person perspective. I dunno why anyone needs to look at their character\'s back to tell what\'s going on.
If I recall correctly, you can increase your APs by increasing your Agility or you can take a Perk that increases your APs. Some weapons, especially rifles used at long range work better without using VATS.
-
Game got WAY too easy by the halfway point. I really lost all interest in doing side missions by that point and I just waltzed through the rest of the main quest.
-
That is true. Your character becomes UBER at a certain point, and the challenge presented by the enemies does not scale up appropriately. In spite of that, I still enjoy skating through and destroying the opposition.
-
Uhm...how do you receive cash or "caps" in this game?...is the only way to make money is by doing the side missions or the main quests themselves? I\'m in megaton and i want to smash a prostitute (yes my ambitions are low at the moment..:D)...but later on i would like to have money for bigger and better weapons...any ideas or am i being a tad impatient?

Sell shit. If you\'re going to be evil, steal and sell shit. Otherwise pick up stuff off the bodies you kill. If you\'re going for long hauls, you might want to consider repairing weapons so you can carry more, higher quality goods until you can reach a merchant. Of course that depends on your repair skill (ended up with 95 on my char.)
-
Another question......."SPOILERS".....................
I finally found my father and apparently he still wants to proceed with his project...i\'ve decided to go with him to the facility with all of the other scientists, but now i kinda want to continue exploring....but i want to know that if i just go off and start exploring again, will he just stay at that facility until i\'m done or will he and the other scientists just up and leave after they\'ve finished whatever they are doing in that building?
My other question is, how in the world do you figure out the password for the computer terminals? I can gain access to them and i always get to the point to where it states you get 4 tries to attemp the password, but i have no idea how you\'re supposed to know....i\'ve tried wrting some of the words that you see on the computer screen itself, but when i get to my very last attemp, i just stop because it states that if i get one more attemp wrong, the system will lock me out...so how do you figure out the passwords for those terminals?
-
The game won\'t ever skip over a quest due to time (that was only in Fallout 1 that anything was time based) so you have nothing to worry there, although you\'re nowhere near the end of the game so you can explore AFTER that quest as well.
As far as the computer hacking goes....
http://thinks.com/java/mastermind/mastermind.htm
The concept is derived from this board game, you can figure it out from there.
-
my trick for the computer terminals is to pick words with the same endings. usually there\'s like 4 words with a \'ING\' or \'END\'...then if you get 4 right letters then all you have to do is find one of the letters before the -ing to match what the password is. If it\'s 0 correct letters then you know its one of the few other ones without the -ing
-
Ahhh....thanks gentlemen....:fro:
-
Make three attempts, then if you still don\'t have it, start looking for the bracket pairs. Usually after clicking 2 or 3 bracket pairs, one of them will reset your allotment of attempts.
-
Damn...ya\'ll..i hate to be a pain in the ass, but how do you guys manage your weapons? or inventory for that matter?....."spoilers"...........
I managed to find the brotherhood base and i have the advanced armor training, but while exploring, some outcasts troops killed some enclave troops and i\'ve managed to get the the advanced enclave armor, but it\'s too heavy for me, and in order for it to not weigh me down i either have to eat a bunch of health packs or food or get rid of some heavy weapons, but i\'m afraid to get rid of any of the weapons i have already and i don\'t think eating health packs just so i can wear this thing is good strategy.
I find myself always at the point where if i grab one more item, my character will run slow, but when i check my inventory, it just seems like i need everything that\'s in there...maybe i\'m not organizing everything right, but i just wanted to know, what items do you guys carry with you ALL the time, and what items do you put away?
*i already have that perk that allows you to carry more items....i peak at 260 before everything becomes too heavy at 261*
-
I\'m pretty sure you can get that perk more than once..i think thats what I did
but even then, if you have 500 points to work with you\'ll probably run into the same problem. im definitly a horde with stuff like this in games and always ran into the problem of having to drop something if I pick up something new.
But even with all that said, i still was able to carry a shit-load of guns and the brotherhood armor (or whatever). Just couldnt have too many alternative outfits and I didnt carry stuff like meats and any aids that give you rads at the same time...not too big a deal though since i have like 150 stimpacks
i also put a few of my weaker guns in my room in megaton
-
I guess we\'re talking mainly about weapons selection, not armor. You don\'t need to carry a selection of armor, just one good set. Make sure it\'s a set you can repair using armor salvaged from the dead. I mainly use the Reilly\'s Rangers battle armor. It\'s pretty good, and you can repair every time you kill a Talon Company Merc. I love killing Talon Mercs.
I realized that I didn\'t need all the weapons I was dragging around, so I left many behind in my house in Megaton. Eventually you don\'t need caps, so there\'s no point picking up weapons to sell. Here are the things I use regularly:
Hunting Rifle
Chinese Assault Rifle
Plasma Rifle (the special one from the android)
Dart Gun
Terrible Shotgun (another one from a side quest)
Sniper Rifle and/or Scoped .44 Magnum
With those, you can do it all. Ignore the minigun, rocket launcher, flamethrower, all pistols, all laser weapons, etc etc. I heard Biwwy\'s Wazer Wifle is supposed to be good, but I didn\'t bother to find out.
Oh yeah build lots and lots of Nuka Grenades. Those are extremely useful.
-
Thanks fellas....looks like i\'ll be getting rid of my weaker weapons then....like my pistol and laser pistols....it\'s kinda hard for me to part with the minigun, rocket launcher flamethrower and even the laser rifle.....one thing i did notice about the missle launcher is that it\'s not as powerful as i thought it was....one more question....what house do you guys have in megaton?
I must\'ve missed that one...i know that you can rent a room in one of the bars there, but you guys actually have a house there?
Currently i find myself using the assault rifle, the combat shotgun the mini-sub machine gun, frag grenades and pulse grenades (for those annoying robots)....
Lastly...how do you guys find the missing android?....i have the quest for it, but i don\'t know where to look for him.
-
In Megaton that big nuke there in town - you can do a quest where you can rat out a guy who wants you to blow it up and the town gives you a house - alternativley you can blow up the nuke, and you\'ll be given a luxury penthouse in Tenpenny Towers.
-
Well i actually told the mayor of megaton (that black dude)that some guy wanted to blow up the the town, and he told me to follow him so i could see some megaton justice or something along those lines, but he ended up gettin\' his ass killed...i guess at that point i could\'ve killed that guy in the hat that shot him, but i didn\'t.
Right now i\'m not sure who\'s in charge of megaton...people are walking around there as if they hardly notice the head of the town was killed. I just go back there every now and then to sell scrap metal to that old-guy in the water maintenance facility.
-
Plasma Rifle + 100 energy weapon skill = 1 shot kill everything
-
Uhm...i just got caught by the enclave( i was retrieving the GECK device) and now i\'m trying to escape the enclave hq....i\'m at the part where all of my weapons are gone....long story short i did manage to get my hands on enclave armor and plasma rifles, but am i going to get my original weapons back? the action was so frantic and i haven\'t had time to look for my original set of weapons.
Currently i\'m in the middle of fighting my way out of the headquarters, but is there any way to find out the location of the weapons i originally had before i was captured?
-
Plasma Rifle + 100 energy weapon skill = 1 shot kill everything
Also...
Lincolns repeater + 100 Small Weapons skill.
I use that, a Chinese Auto Rifle, or a Fat Man. That\'s it.
I also wear this...
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/T-51b_Power_Armor
Sorry LIC, I dont remember that part.
-
Lincoln\'s repeater is an awesome weapon, no question. Only problem is that it fires .44 mag ammo, and that is not as common as other types of ammo. Hold on to it for "special occasions..." :)
Clips: Once you are captured by the Enclave, and you wake up restrained in a room talking Col. Autumn, there is a speech path where they give you back all your original equipment. I thought that was the only way it would work, but apparently not. You give Autumn the brush off, don\'t give him the code, and eventually President Eden intervenes by intercom. You can take all your stuff from the locker that\'s in the room or in the hallway; I don\'t remember exactly. Maybe you just ignored the locker on your way out.
I hope you\'re keeping lots of saves so you can replay the conversations different ways and see how they turn out.
-
I actually checked my locker and got all of my equipment, but my weapons were missing from the locker....and at some point after i was cleared by Autumn, the guards started attacking me...so i just kept running until i made my way to the presidents office which you know ended up bein that supercomputer.....and like i stated before, i managed to get enclave armor suits and weapons, but i can\'t seem to find the original weapons that i had when i was captured.
-
That\'s weird. I found all my weapons in the locker.
If you still have a save from before that scene, go back and try it again. I found some quests don\'t work right the first time. It seems like I did everything I was supposed to do, but it didn\'t give me the achievement. (XB360) I replayed it from the save, and it worked right the 2nd time.
-
Ok thanks...i\'m not going crazy then. It must be some type of weird glitch in the game.
*edit* It also turns out that glitch is hurting me big time....not only did i not receive my weapons from that locker, i realized it also did not give me my bobby pins, in which i had over 40.....so i\'m walkin\' around not able to unlock doors to new area\'s or ammo or safe\'s, because of this problem.
I should\'ve created a seperate save, but i didn\'t think i would have to worry about something like this. Now i\'m trying to find a vendor that has s**tload of bobby pins,...the locker also did not give me my bottlecaps in which i had over 3000....damn glitch.
-
Ahhh...i\'ve finally finished the game...i received the perk that showed me the locations of EVERYTHING on the map, so it kinda took me longer to finish(which isn\'t a bad thing)....i never thought i would like a game like this, but i ended up loving it....the only knock was that i felt i was kinda too powerful towards the end, but i kinda liked it that way since early on in the game i was getting my ass whooped by super mutants and those murlock creatures......:p...great game tho.
I keep hearing rumors that the dev\'s are going to release all of theor dlc on a single disk, and i\'m hoping that it\'ll be for both xbox and ps3 cause i\'ll definitely pick that up.
-
the only one i was looking foreward to was the space ship one and i guess thats the worst of the 4. Pitt and the swamp one look pretty good but Im not into it enough to fork out money for it
-
I bought this game months ago and totally forgot to install it and play it (PC)... I know what i\'m gonna do tonight.
How many hours did you guys put into it?
Hoping it will keep me busy until Modern Warefare 2 comes out.
-
Don\'t know how many hours I put into it but it will surely keep you occupied until MW2 is out. If for some reason it doesn\'t, I believe its up to 4 DLC packs for it.
-
I\'ve clocked 115 hours thus far, and not planning to finish right yet; pretty much doing plenty of exploring and completing the sidequests.

totally loving this game so far. About 6 hours into it... killed that A-hole gang member in the vault (who was too chicken shit to help out his mom who was being attacked). I also attacked and killed the overseer and a couple guards right in front of that chick... oh well.
Deactivated the atomic bomb in megatron and now I\'m getting sucked into the side quests. Just found "the family" and got the message to IAN and convinced the family to guard the town in turn for pints of blood. Ran across my first super mutant at the outdoor movie theatre... killed him too. So far i\'m not having a hard time keeping stocked with ammo, but I imagine I will at some point (playing on normal difficulty).
Getting ready to get back onto the main quest track, but these side missions can be pretty fun. Enjoying it very much so far. Any recommendations on what abilities I should build up.. or perks I should get early on?
-
I started playing this game again myself, because i\'d like to get the 5 DLC\'s for it.
But so far its reminded me how great this game is. I went Big Guns - Explosives - Lock Picking for my tag skills and I keep Science midway at 50. Lock Pick is at 100 and with science at 50 I can do all computers Average or lower - can go a lil bit higher and pop some mentats and boost science up another 10 temporarily. Also gonna make myself a good guy during this play through.
JBean - if you ever get a free chance load a new game and just run into megaton but this time agree to blow the bomb up with Mr Burke in the saloon. Its awesome :D
Moira Brown in Megaton sells a schematic for a big gun called the Rock-It Launcher - never bothered with building weapons the first time around but this gun is badass!! Its ammo is junk you find lying around. Its great blowing somebodies head off with a dinner plate or a toaster hehe and as long as there is junk around then you got ammo. I\'ve saved sooo much ammo for my other guns by using this thing. Does decent damage in its own right and once you load it with your junk you don\'t have to reload again until its completely empty and needs more junk.
Also a lil tip for anyone at the start when your playing with you S.P.E.C.I.A.L points
You can get a bobble head for every one of your special points so never put them past 9 at the start.
Strength and Perception have their bobble head but there is also a quest called \'Those!\' where at the end you get to choose to put 1 points in either of those two. So never put Strength or Perception past 8.
That rule applies for Luck as well. Bobble head and there are some glasses you can get that are +1 Luck. These glasses can be worn at the same time with your helmet. So never have Luck up past 8 either.
-
Does anyone here have Point Lookout and The Pitt? How is Point Lookout? and I heard that The Pitt is immensely buggy, has it been patched, is it a smooth play through?
Going to get Broken Steel for sure, never knew that raised the level cap to 30 before :D
-

There is also an 8-ball you can get from Big Town that gives +1 luck as long as you are carrying it.
-
Oh sweet I didn\'t know about the 8 ball :D
I\'m restarting again but this time i\'m getting Comprehension Perk at Lvl 4 - didn\'t think it\'d be a big deal but I didn\'t realize how many books there are and getting 2 points instead of 1 point is an extra 50 points per skill if I hunt out the books. Trying to make a \'good at everything\' character hehe
-
Now have the ghoul mask, so I can enter the metro tunnels or any place with ghouls and not have any worries. I eneded up letting Roy & his feral ghouls into tenpenny tower and looted right along side of them.
Started in on the main quest again after a lot of side quests. Found the GNR building... and had some fun with the fatboy/mini nukes and my first behemoth. Now working towards repairing the antenna so i\'m headed towards the museum of technology.
Awesome game :thumb:

My one complaint was that there were definitely not enough behemoths running around seeing as I had a shit ton worth of mini-nukes at my disposal.
-
Yes, I collected mini-nukes also and hardly ever used them.
It was fun expending the Nuka-Grenades during the final battle outside the Jefferson Memorial. Those things really kick ass.

I hear that Bethesda(spel) is going to release all 5 DLC\'s on one disk sometime around october....which i think is a brilliant move...i\'ll definitely be picking that up.
-
seriously man? cause i haven\'t bought any of them yet and if thats the case thats awesome. I\'d pick that up for sure too.
-
Yeah...i heard it\'s called the "game of the year edition"....and it\'s going to cost as much as a regular priced game.

Just made it up to the republic of dave and he gave me the key to give to mr crowley. I\'m trying to rig the election so Dave loses, but I couldn\'t remember how to do it. I\'ll have to read the fallout wiki on that again and try tonight.
The freaking deathclaws are kicking my ass. I try to stay away from them if at all possible. Is there anything that works good to hurt them? I can typically survive and kill one, but they usually fuck me up pretty good.

Did anybody get the GOTY edition yet?...i just picked it up over the weekend, but i haven\'t played it yet. I\'m glad i waited tho (now i don\'t have to download all of that extra DLC)....i hate downloading games...i\'ll take a physical disk over downloading any day.
The geeks at gamestop only gave me $8.50 credit on my original fallout trade-in tho.....i swear the retail value of games drops are more dramatic than when you drive that brand new car off tha lot.

People are getting $20 bucks and up for used copies of this game. Trading in a game at gamestop is a complete waste, but I understand it\'s convenient

Uhm...did anybody pick up the goty edition for ps3?...i\'m asking because in order to play the dlc, you have start the game from beginning. Now i have been playing from the beginning, and my character is kinda leveled up pretty decent now, my question is, if i start one of the dlc missions, will i lose any of my weapons/level/abilities?....i\'ve been kinda avoiding the dlc missions so far, because i don\'t want to lose my stuff.
In other words when you start the dlc missions, will they make you start off with nothing or will they let you continue on with the perks and weapons that you have already....any help would be appreciated...:fro:
-
you loose nothing. I just open up new quest that lead to unreacheable area if the DLC is not activated.
The only thing is if you activate the DLC, gain new item, desactivate the DLC afterward their might be a problem loading your save file. I haven\'t test it though, but it was a problem in previous Elder Scroll\'s game.

^^^Thanks..:fro:

Well i WAS playing fallout3 goty edition and i was playing the point lookout section and i got to a point to where the game constantly freezes...needless to say i was pissed the f**k off...because while i did have some other saves, they were from waaay back earlier on in the game....to put it in perspective my last save was at level 19 wheras in point lookout i was at level 27 with a bunch of weapons and armor...
Also the dlc content of the game(at least for the ps3) is buggy as s**t... what the heck happened to quality control over at bethesda?...aggh...it\'s probably gonna be a few months to a year before i muster up enough energy to go through that game again....to try and build my character up again, i just wouldn\'t enjoy it, and i would be going through the motions...that s**t just zapped the energy i had for it right out of me.

Doesn\'t the PS3 automatically download patches and fixes for games and dlc automatically when it\'s connected to the internet? (The xbox automatically searches for new patches whenever you run a game.) Is your PS3 connected to the internet?
-
Maybe i should look into getting my ps3 connected then....thanks.

Uhm...one more question regarding the goty edition....this is going to contain a wee bit of a spoiler but here it goes.....i\'m wondering if this game ever ends...why?...well if you continue with the main story (the search for your father) and initially in the original game it ended with you dying and saving project purity, but in the goty edition...the dlc "broken steel" takes over and you end up not dying...
so anyway i finished that story arc (best dlc imo) and i\'ve finished all of the other missions, so now i\'m just wandering around..i\'ve discovered everything (all of the locations on the map) and it seems like the game just goes on forever...anybody else experience this with the goty edition?
*edit*...ah nevermind..i just found out that after you complete the main mission you can free roam the wasteland forever....which i guess is ok, it\'s just that the game never ends.
