My advice to McCain.... if you\'re gonna have this guy as your spokesperson since he\'s already speaking at your rally\'s and signing autograph\'s,..:p...get this guy up to speed, just do a better bang up job than the one you gave the intellectual brainstorm that is palin.

I love how the democratic party took a plumber from Ohio who asked an innocent question and then proceeded to dig up as much dirt on him as possible so that they could smear him. That\'s great, we\'re smearing citizens now.

McCain made a big deal about him during the debate, now he\'s apparently appearing at support rallies so yes he\'s fair game.

How is this vid a smear? He was on fox news!! This dude is clearly hanging himself....he put himself out there on the stump with McCain & Palin, and he can\'t even answer the question as to why he thinks an obama presidency will be the death of israel....."uhm i\'ll just let the people decide and just continue to make stupidass statements without backing them up"....:p
I hope McCain continues to use this guy at their rallys,.....with Palins antics and her beef with McCains peoples and this plumber dude sprouting such idiotic nonsense, the McCain campaign looks like it\'s running into each other like a chicken with it\'s head cut off....his campaign is self destructing and falling apart right before our eyes.

That\'s a shame too. I\'ve always felt he would have made a strong president. Maybe not by the end of his term since he is pretty old :) He should have run a long time ago.
I\'m almost certain I\'m voting for Obama this election. To be honest, I like both candidates. They both have good ideas. I was watching the debates and they both want what\'s best for the country and have ideas to help get it back on track. However, I\'m growing weary of Palin and I\'ve come around to the fact that she probably won\'t make the best vice president. She\'s so focused on her image as a soccer mom that I feel I haven\'t gotten to know her and her views. Also, she has executive experience but she has no Washington experience. Maybe if she was involved more in Washington, I would warm up to her later on. At least Biden (though I think he\'s a douche) has experience.
I\'m growing so weary of this election. The attack ads are the worst I\'ve seen in my lifetime. People are shit talking everyone and half truths are flying around. For example, my roommate today said he was moving to Canada if Obama won. He says that Obama is a Muslim terrorist piece of shit (almost word for word) and that he toasted a terrorist at a dinner and that the liberal media refuses to show it so it doesn\'t hurt his campaign (I\'m calling bullshit on that). I\'m just tired of hearing this and just can\'t wait to cast my vote and watch the results.

Did Joe the Plumber exist before the debate? I thought he was just saying Joe the Plumber as a generic term for an every day guy then they found themselves a joe the plumber. But I dunno...:running:

The guy is a freaking plumber. He isn\'t running on the ticket. Why should he have to answer questions? The 0 is mad because Joe asked him a question that 0 flubbed the answer to.
The 0 isn\'t even qualified to be CoC. He couldn\'t even pass a background check to be in the FBI, let alone be in control of the military. Speaking of which, if the dumbass tries anything "radical" the military certainly won\'t have his back. They hate him.

He may not be on the ticket, but why can\'t he just answer the question?...The guy goes on stage with both McCain & Palin and calls obama a socialist, but when even a fox news anchor just asks him to simply answer the question, he can\'t answer it?.......he\'s another nutball that probably believes obama is a terrorist as well....if you can\'t back up your statements after saying something to the degree where voting for obama will be the death of a nation, then that ass needs to s**t the f**k up.
Now all of that other stuff about obama is your personal opinion....it seems to me that the troops would hate a president that involved them into an unjust war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11....over 4000 lives lost over wmd\'s that wasn\'t there in the first place...4000 lives lost that could have been spared or used where the real threat is..in afghanastan.
I guess a president that unlawfully invades another country isn\'t radical to you...the u.s. is always right....and now since bush was so fascinated with his war, we\'re spending and borrowing over 10 billion a month from various countrys in iraq and our economy is in the tank....that go it alone philosophy is workin\' out like a charm isn\'t it?...who\'s the radical again?...

As a man who shaves my head on a daily basis I have to say if Joe gets frustrated with all the media attention then all he really has to do is grow his hair and a bear and boom....your not recognizable. I know it, it works, i\'ve done it.
Also he is fair game seeing as he is appearing at rallies and is actually getting involved in the campaign on a public level. This guy likes the attention, its obvious every time he speaks.

How does it matter whether McCain or Obama wins? They both essentially have the same foreign policies, at least in the short term.
Title: Joe the plumber..
Post by: Viper_Fujax on October 30, 2008, 12:15:37 PM
arent their foreign policies one of the main things they disagree on?
mccain wants a surge in iraq, obama wants out. obama wants to talk with countries like iran, mccain thinks thats a bad idea.
personally, i think obama is too liberal and mccain is too much like bush in terms of foreign policy. but its a lot easier to be liberal and realize talking to crazy fucks like Ahmadinejad (i had to google how the hell to spell that) wont work than to throw troops in because we can and get into situations like iraq

Over a billion trade daily between the US/Canada border. And Toronto is in the NBA.
Specific examples, but the US economy also effects other economies.

The surge is over and it worked. We need to slowly withdraw and let the Iraqi\'s replace our troops when we feel they can handle it. That is what McCain is for. The zero wants us to withdraw now, without making sure the job is finished and Iraq can defend itself from foreign influences like Iran and Syria.
Title: Joe the plumber..
Post by: Mr. Kennedy on October 30, 2008, 12:33:20 PM
While I am personally against the war, the surge did work.
Obama\'s foreign policy is different, but not that different from McCain\'s.

DEFIANCE, Ohio -- "Where is Joe? Is Joe here with us today?"
That\'s the question John McCain asked roughly 6,000 people at Defiance Junior High School here this morning, But the correct answer was no -- Joe the Plumber was nowhere to be found.
There are conflicting reports about where or when or if Joe will appear with McCain at some point during his two-day bus tour of Ohio, but the candidate clearly thought that he was meeting him here in Defiance, the first stop on the tour.
While riffing on a common line from his stump speech about Obama\'s desire to "spread the wealth," McCain confidently proclaimed, "Joe\'s with us today. Joe where are ya? Where is Joe? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today."
Then the senator covered up for Joe\'s absence by saying, "All right, well you\'re all Joe the Plumber. So all of ya stand up ,and say I thank you."
Joe the Plumber has been a major part McCain\'s lame recycled speeches for weeks now. McCain now claims that we are all JTP. When someone makes a claim like that, it becomes somewhat important to figure out who JTP is, and WHICH JTP McCain is talking about.
If McCain is referring to the fictitious, hypothetical JTP who is about to buy his employer\'s business and earn well over $250K per year, and might pay slightly more taxes under Obama\'s proposal, then I DISAGREE with McCain. We are NOT all JTP, and the vast majority of us never will be.
If on the other hand, McCain is referring to the real Joe Wurzelbacher, who is not a licensed plumber, and who earns less than $40K per year, and cannot afford to purchase his employer\'s business, and wouldn\'t be earning over $250K per year even if he did, then I agree, there are a lot of us in a similar situation in this country. These people will be better able to acheive their goals with the middle class tax relief that Obama is proposing.
That is why it\'s important to do a little research on JOE when republicans use him as a model for the benefits of the McCain tax plan.

Good post, but you should know you have to provide a link/s.
On a side note, what else would you expect from a candidate that picks a photogenic running mate out of left field?
Title: Joe the plumber..
Post by: Coredweller on October 30, 2008, 01:33:04 PM
Do you mean I should have provided a link for the info on Wurzelbacher\'s financial situation? I thought that was well established over the last week or two. Here ya go:
Wurzelbacher also acknowledged that he had no specific plans for buying Newell’s business, saying he and Newell had simply talked about the idea from time to time. He might have difficulty making the purchase: Court records from his divorce show that Wurzelbacher made $40,000 in 2006.
Even if he did buy Newell Plumbing and Heating, Obama’s tax plan wouldn’t affect him. While Wurzelbacher told Obama that he would be taxed at a higher rate because the company grossed more than $250,000 a year, Ohio business records show the company’s estimated total annual revenue as only $100,000. Actual taxable income would be even less than that.
In any event, Obama’s tax plan specifies that the higher rate would apply only to income above the $250,000 threshold. Assuming Wurzelbacher’s income as owner somehow hit $280,000 — the top end of his supposition of the company’s revenue — only the extra $30,000 would be taxed at a higher rate.

Nope. I think its very fashionable to hate on America these days. Unlike the vast majority of Americans who are...obnoxiously patriotic who seem to think saying something nice about another country means you hate your own, I can firmly say I am a proud Canadian and wouldn\'t to live in any other country on earth and wouldn\'t want any other country beside me.
I live in Niagara Falls now and am less than 20 minutes from New York state. As such, on a nearly daily basis I run into Americans (mostly 19 years old) coming over to get drunk and smoke pot openly. There good people.
