It has now been made official with a teaser trailer, and confirmation that the PS3-exclusive action-adventure game will be titled Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
The sequel adds a free climbing mechanic and stealth gameplay to the existing run-and-gun exploration style of the original. The story revolves around the voyages of Marco Polo, which might explain the cold Tibetan Himalayas mountains seen in the video, as Polo spent many years in China during the legendary Kublai Khan’s reign, the Mongol ruler and founder of the Yuan Dynasty. So there’s definitely both history and treasure to be found there.

At the 2008 Spike Video Game Awards on Sunday, [size=+1]December 14th, at 9:00 PM[/size] we’ll get to see the full world exclusive unveiling of Uncharted 2.

pretty curious how much the settings are going to change.

i hope they put more sequences like the bridge falling apart while your running on top of it. was one of the best parts of the game and it was at the beginning and like 10 seconds long

It was nice. I would like longer sequences like that, and more complex with more actions to do.

Lookin\' forward to the sequel...this series absolutely destroys tomb raider....the original uncharted plays & looks light years better than the recently released tomb raider title...and uncharted is what? two years old already?....i can\'t wait for this to drop.

I don\'t know; sure I\'m not expecting a long game-play footage, just some real-time sequences(cut scenes and short, very short game-play action, if we are lucky).  Some people saw GOW 3(closed doors), and they said is beyond the world; we\'ll see.

The Uncharted 2 teaser trailer has been confirmed as realtime footage.

I wouldn\'t know how anyone could mistake it for prerendered CGi.

- GOD OF WAR III. Kratos soon arrives on the PlayStation 3 and only the VGAs will bring you the first-ever glimpse at this game. And let me put all you skeptics to rest right now. I’m happy to confirm you’ll be seeing real-time gameplay footage.

Gamers were astounded when it was announced that God of War III would make an appearance at this year’s VGA. However, the excitement were short live when gamers around the world were unsure whether the trailer would comprise of CG or gameplay footage. Well, It’s time to put that concern to rest. Geoff Keighley have confirmed on his personal blog that the trailer being shown at this year’s VGA would indeed comprise of gameplay footage.

- The biggest thing in the article IMO is that there\'s a new girl named Chloe Frazer. GI asked about Elena and Sully\'s return but they had no comment.

- The story is about looking for the ships that Marco Polo "lost" while returning home to Italy.

- Melee combat is more dynamic now.

- They mentioned they were using only 30% of the PS3\'s power with Drake\'s Fortune and are planning to use nearly 100% with Among Thieves.

- A demo was shown to GI with Drake going through a city (I believe in Nepal), and he\'s stealthily taking out guards and escaping the city.

- Nolan North returns to be Drake and Chloe Frazer is played by Claudia Black (Stargate SG-1, Fargate).

- The Sixaxis mechanics were ditched for such things as throwing grenades.

- One of the weapons revealed is a rocket launcher that Chloe uses (might only be for the cinematic).

- There are no load screens.

- The score is being composed by Greg Edmonson (same guy from the first one).

- Weapons can be used in any stance (running, behind cover, hanging, climbing a wall, etc.).

- You can now move while aiming behind cover.

Quote

"In Uncharted 2, every character fully interacts with the dynamic geometry moving around them, and environments in the background are real parts of the game world"

"If Drake\'s on top of a train, he\'s going to be shaking with the train as it moves around"

"As he gets inside, his moveset is going to change, and he\'s going to be a lot more secure because the wind\'s not blowing."

- Button sequence cinematics such as the final boss have changed so now Drake is now fully controllable in these parts...I think (This one\'s also hard to describe).

- Climbing seems improved upon. You can climb lamp posts now among other new things.

- If there is an enemy patrolling a rooftop you\'re climbing a wall to, you can pull him off the roof while hanging on the wall.

looks awesome

but i really...really..really am tired of these companies making ps3 games saying "we only used 2% of the ps3\'s power but next time were going to use 110%"

itll look better but sequels always look like a more polished version of the previous ones..its just natural. but going by their claims, it would be photorealistic using the \'other 60% of the ps3\'s power\'

100% marketing craptalk yeah.

However, the game uses really nice ambient occlusion (the soft shadowing on surfaces, creases etc.) and high rez casted shadows ... which are pretty processing intensive...

The game is lookin\' great, but graphically i can\'t see much improvement over the first one(which isn\'t a bad thing) and it seems drake might possibily have a new love interest...she looks a bit better than Elena, in a bad girl kind of way.

- the way shaders interact with lighting looks better
- finally some sort of ambient occlusion
- some very good depth of field

The link is not working, here EDGE thoughts :

Quote

Now, more than ever, a game without an obvious gimmick is a hard sell, and while Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune had an embarrassment of virtues, with vivid animation, a pleasantly hammy matinee story and a charming protagonist who hadn’t been over-designed to the point of shrill caricature, some found it too easy to dismiss the game as a cocktail of influences with little to truly call its own.

Despite the daredevil onscreen action, the game’s design was often carefully unadventurous, as treasure hunter Nathan Drake boldly leapt chasms, fought off zombie Nazis and scaled cliffs, the development team picked their way more cautiously through the thirdperson action game landscape, raiding only the most tried and tested of ideas along the way: the cover system from Gears Of War, and Tomb Raider’s graceful moveset.

The result was a game that sometimes struggled to find its own rhythm – it handled both platforming and shooting with confidence, but struggled to blend them, preferring instead to break its core mechanics into discrete chunks. Uncharted, therefore, leaves Naughty Dog with a particularly tricky challenge.

Some sequels have the obvious job of fixing the gaping flaws of the original. Instead, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has to take some largely successful elements and turn them into something coherent and truly individual; it has to transcend mere excellence of execution and create a convincing identity to call its own. So far, things are looking extremely promising.

“Our last story was about Francis Drake,” says creative director Amy Hennig, sitting in the meeting room of Naughty Dog’s Santa Monica offices, while Trumpet, co-president Christophe Balestra’s dog, wanders around under the conference table, chewing at wires and brushing up against journalists’ ankles. “Our ‘what if’ was: what if Francis Drake hadn’t died when everyone thought he had? This time we’re going with Marco Polo. Our catalyst is this man who catalogued all of his journeys – all the details of everything that happened in his life – but despite that he left one gaping hole.”

The hole in question is 1292, when Polo left the court of Kublai Khan to return home to Venice, taking a fleet of 14 treasure ships and more than 600 men with him. By the time he finally reached Europe, he was down to one ship, and roughly a dozen survivors. “He never once said anything about what happened to him,” says Hennig. “And on his death bed, after people had called him a liar for what he had spoken about in his book, he said: ‘I didn’t say even half of what I saw’.”

But the search for Polo’s lost fleet is the starting point, rather than the climax, of Among Thieves, and events swiftly grow reassuringly complex. Polo’s real secret – and Drake’s eventual target – turns out to be Shambhala, the legendary Tibetan city also known as Shangri-La, and fabled home of the Cintamani Stone, a ruby which was reputed to have the power to grant wishes. It’s a story that allows for a much wider range of settings on this outing, far beyond the jungles of the first game.

The teaser trailer for Among Thieves shows a wounded, bedraggled Drake fighting his way through a snowstorm to uncover a mysterious object. Treasure hunting may still be at the fore of the action, but the shift in locations – the lush jungles of the original replaced with the bleak icefields of South-East Asia and the urban reality of a war-torn Nepal – suggests the holiday brochure appeal of the first game may be in danger of disappearing.

Add to that the promise – or threat – of a new stealth mechanic, and you could be forgiven for wondering if, in an effort to distance itself from the house of Croft, Uncharted has somewhat lost its sense of direction.

But the developers seem quietly confident of the choices they’ve made. “We wanted a wide range of environments this time,” explains Balestra after rolling the trailer. “We wanted to show this wasn’t just a jungle game.” And, from what we’ve seen, the team has succeeded in this aim: alongside ice caverns and frozen mountainsides, we’re shown a real variety of environments, from lush indoor spaces filled with gold leaf and bright colours, to an opulent train with blood red curtains and swinging brass lights, and a desolate Nepalese monastery clinging to the side of a cliff.

A passing glimpse at somebody’s workstation suggests the team may even have found room to include another jungle or two along the way.“I’ve never done so much research for any project as I have for this,” says Rhob Ruppel, Among Thieves’ art director. “We didn’t want any sense of a retread with this game, and we really wanted every bit of detail to make the world believable. Anyone can pile on details, but we also want to use them to create a mood. What would Ridley Scott do to a location like a temple? He’d layer on the right elements: tattered cloths and ropes and things that move in the wind. Our locations come alive. They breathe and have a backstory.”

Yet the main focus in Among Thieves lies not with the globe-trotting, but rather in a closer examination of the hero. “We want to go deeper into Drake and see what makes him tick, and go beneath the surface in a way we didn’t have the chance to last time,” says Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells. “In the last game we met Drake under special circumstances,” suggests Hennig.

“Almost immediately he was called to rise above his normal nature and be a hero. But we hinted there were shadier sides to him. In this game we want to explore that. He’s back in his natural element this time around, a rough and lawless world. What’s a treasure hunter’s place in the modern world? We want the player to see the contradictions. He’s affable and charming, but he can also be a jerk. I don’t want to imply we’re getting heavy and angsty – it’s still a classic adventure – but we really want to show a character with more colours to him. That’s where the subtitle comes from – his world is a world of thieves.”

The emphasis on added character depth is encouraging, but once again it’s the immediacy and effortless charisma of the animation that makes Drake so interesting to watch. The first Uncharted offered some brilliantly convincing moments – panicked dashes from a nearby grenade, or frantic lunges for a ledge – but recent changes to Naughty Dog’s Uncharted Engine 2.0 allow for a layering of far more detailed animation, and the result is a hero who gives off a palpable air of forever operating on the outer limits of his skills. He gasps as he pulls himself up over ridges, pants with exertion while scrambling out of the way of gunfire, and is constantly muttering under his breath after near-misses;

Drake’s always been a lead with appealingly limited powers, but the technology behind Among Thieves brings his regular struggles and good-natured desperation to life far more vividly than the first game could. “Uncharted used 30 per cent of the PS3’s SPUs, and this time we’re maxing it out,” says Balestra. “That means we can blend and switch animations a lot quicker, and we have more facial joints in-game for characters to react with believable expressions.”

“So if he’s sneaking, his animation has to reflect that, and if he’s on shaky ground, you’ll see him checking his balance. If he’s scared, you’ll see the anguish and fear on his face,” adds Wells. The aim is to create what game director Bruce Straley describes as “a true playable cinematic experience. True interactive storytelling, essentially.” Now that’s a claim that’s loaded with meaning.

“It’s a phrase with a stigma to it,” admits Hennig. “People think it implies passivity, but we’re trying to reclaim it. We took all our cues from what I call comfort movies – those action adventure films we all grew up watching. That’s where we took all our pacing ideas from, and it seems perfectly respectable to say that’s what we’re doing: an interactive version of that experience we like so much, and that nobody else is doing.”

“It’s boiling down those elements that will work well in the game,” suggests Straley. “Every game has the challenge of trying to make an interactive experience, so there’s certain things that lend themselves to cinematic action and things that don’t. It’s choosing your battles. It’s a lot to do with pacing – ebb and flow – it’s not all go-go-go, it’s going to have character points, and sad moments to go with the action. If something’s happening, it’s you reacting to it. For example, we have the technology to allow an entire building to collapse while you’re in it – and we can throw enemies in at the same time while that’s happening. You’re playing everything this time, not just the easy bits.”

Character work and cinematic plotting may turn out to be the game’s stars, but what leaves the biggest impression after seeing a short developer-controlled playthrough is something else entirely: the blending of movement and combat mechanics. Occurring about a quarter of the way through the finished game, the level we see throws Drake into the middle of a bombed-out Nepalese city, a maze of streets and crumbling temples being violently torn apart by Among Thieves’ new antagonist, a ruthless paramilitary leader.

Like the game’s hero, he’s set on finding the Cintamani stone, but while Drake has attempted to sneak into town as a member of the press, and eventually had to resort to ramming his car through a guard outpost, the villain has brought his entire army along with him.

While there’s smoke in the air and rubble in the streets, war-torn Nepal is reassuringly different from most videogame urban battlefields: it’s kinetic and violent, but it’s also exotic and colourful. All of the textures in Among Thieves are drawn by hand, and the result is a city that looks coherent and artful rather than drab and photocopied. Little details are everywhere – from the flags and laundry strung between buildings, to the battered tuc tuc lying in a sad heap, or the flames blazing from distant towers.

The level itself is a fight through the alleyways and over the rooftops to meet up with Drake’s new love interest, Chloe, with a handful of encounters and a few scripted interruptions along the way, ranging from collapsing floors, through a driverless (and burning) busload of militia careening down the streets, to a final confrontation with a battered troop carrier blocking a crossroads.

While the first Uncharted would have lobbed a handful of enemies at Drake to be cleared out before putting him up against a bit of lonely clambering, Among Thieves’ real breakthrough is that it can now combine both seamlessly, allowing Drake to climb up behind an enemy stationed on top of a wall and yank him into the street below, or take out distant soldiers while lurching between buildings, using shop signs not only as handholds, but as useful pieces of cover.

Because of this newfound flexibility, the playthrough turns out to be a heady mix of endearingly graceless parkour and multi-level fighting. The platforming is far more organic than in the first game, broken walls slyly suggesting handholds without the need for glaringly obvious ledges, while the maze of partially destroyed houses and piles of rubble make for an excellent strategic battleground, with gunfights breaking out on the fly. The cover system has ditched its suspiciously useful configurations of boulders in favour of more believable scenery: an upside-down jeep, a derelict gas cooker or a slightly incongruous small city car, wheel-deep in old newspapers. Drake can make his own cover, too, flipping over a table or picking up an abandoned car door.

And the stealth turns out to be far from the stop-start mood-killer you might be expecting.[/colr] “Stealth is often meticulous, frustrating and boring,” says Straley. “Ours comes back to the cinematic experience – it’s about keeping the pace. On a gameplay level, you want to play one set-piece in a variety of different ways, so stealth just gives you something more in the toolbox – another element, another choice that’s available to you. Suddenly you can try out all different kinds of options. We call it action stealth. It’s not Splinter Cell. It’s choosing when and from where to enter combat.”

“You don’t see films where it’s all shooting,” chimes in Hennig. “You see heroes creep up and slam someone into a wall. In the first game, you occasionally felt there was only one way to do things. In other games, stealth is always defensive – someone spots you sneaking past them, and it’s all over. We wanted to put you on the offensive for once: stealth or shooting – both choices are valid at any time.”

All of this is aided by some excellent environmental details – bookcases shake and dislodge dusty volumes as Drake scrambles over them, while pigeons scatter in sudden bursts as he scampers from one shop sign to another, and lampposts threaten to buckle under his weight as he swings past. And the enemy AI has made some leaps too – a second playthrough by the developer reveals that if one of the militia gets to the car-door shield before Drake does, the final fight can turn out very differently, and we’re also promised that enemies will be able to scale walls and vault from one rooftop to another just as easily as he can.

Ultimately, it’s this blending of platforming and shooting, in a way no other game has yet managed convincingly, which makes Among Thieves feel like such an exciting prospect, and may help to provide the sense of individuality the first game gently lacked. Tomb Raider stumbled over the combat, Gears never attempted any kind of gymnastics, and even the first Uncharted struggled to get the combination to work. But from what we’ve seen, its sequel promises to be one of the first true action-platformers, a game that, if anything, resembles a more light-hearted, joyous and nimble take on the first few acts of MGS4 than any of the usual reference points.

It’s a time-honoured convention of treasure movies that the hero never finds quite the treasure they were looking for, and in this respect, Among Thieves may prove solidly traditional. No doubt Marco Polo’s lost fleet and the Cintamani stone will elude our hero in the final act, carried away by plot twists, sudden betrayals and selfless last-minute sacrifices. But in its place, there’s every chance that, this time, Nathan Drake may unearth the trophy he needs the most: a confident identity of his own to match the intelligence and wit with which Naughty Dog’s games are constructed.

Game director Bruce Straley has given CVG some insight into how Uncharted 2\'s AI will make for a much more challenging experience.

The game\'s new stealth element has inspired Naughty Dog to create some very lifelike enemies. "As a result of expanding our gameplay to account for action-stealth, there are two new behaviours added to enemies, \'investigate\' and \'hunt,\'" Straley told us.

"With \'investigate\' the enemies have peripheral vision just like humans. When Drake enters this peripheral vision the enemies will look over in the direction they think they saw him in and depending on how long he was in this vision cone, they may just look or they may walk over and check out what they think they saw.

"With the \'hunt\' behaviour the enemies have already spotted Drake and are in combat with him. While in combat the enemies make certain assumptions on where Drake is based on his last known location.

"If they lose eye contact with Drake for a few seconds, one or more enemies will start hunting around the area, starting with his last known location, and then spread their search out if he\'s not found."

He continued: "If they are to hunt for Drake they\'ll need the ability to climb on the environment, jump across gaps, and drop down from ledges to get to him. The benefit to this was our combat wasn\'t limited to flat terrain anymore."

im always skeptical of AI..im sure itll be pretty good but going off of all the other games that exist, theres always a handful of annoying quirks in the AI.

i just played through brothers in arms and noone can get teamate AI down yet..they still do stupid shit like walk in front of the enemy to get to an area i want them to go to (instead of using the back way, actually behind cover). same deal with graw on pc

I remember hearing programmers say AI issues would be a thing of the past during the ps2/xbox era,..but the fact of the matter is that there will always be issues with AI for all games for years to come....it\'s incredibly hard to get AI to react in a way that humans would naturally respond....that running into the line of fire bug can be a game killer. That sometimes ends up getting your AI partner and yourself killed.

Even if this game is more of the same, i wouldn\'t complain...the original uncharted was absolutely gorgeous and this title continues that trend. I don\'t know what happened to Elana from the first game, but it looks like nate & her had a falling out.

It seems like it\'s for the best tho as this new female lead seems to have a more "bad girl" or sexier edge to her personality..elana was a bit of a goody two shoes in the first game. It\'ll be interesting to see how they implement past characters.

[size=+1]Interview: Naughty Dog on Uncharted 2[/size]

Quote

5. What is the most radical difference between the first game and the sequel, and how have you made sure that fans of the first game will also enjoy the follow-up?

One of the main differences is the addition our action-stealth mechanic, which is all about adding complexity, expanding player choice in our combat situations, and fleshing out our enemy AI system. "Action" represents the idea that we\'re trying to keep the pace up and "stealth" represents the tactics we\'re familiar with regarding taking out enemies unnoticed. We don\'t want to introduce the frustration of being forced to move at the game\'s (presumably slower) pace by replaying and replaying a set-up due to failing a stealth-heavy situation.

Providing the option of action-stealth allows the player the choice to get more invested in the set-ups, getting to know more about the environments than a straight gunfight would allow. It also allows us to embed more narrative and story into the gameplay. By showing what enemies are doing before you\'re engaged in combat and by overhearing some background conversations, you\'ll be able to see more of the story in context to the environment or situation. It also reinforces the story needs by allowing us to make set-ups more appropriate to the tone of the story. Is Drake infiltrating an area? Are the enemies already in defensive positions? Whatever the story needs, we can have the enemies parallel that feeling now.

As a result of expanding our gameplay to account for action-stealth, we\'ve changed up the dynamics of how a player approaches a combat situation by adding new behaviors to enemies: an investigate behavior and a hunting behavior. With the investigate behavior, the enemies have peripheral vision just like humans. When Drake enters this peripheral vision the enemies will look over in the direction they think they saw him, and depending on how long he was in this vision cone, they may just dismiss what they saw or they may walk over and check out the area Drake stood in. The hunt behavior is triggered when the enemies have already spotted Drake and are engaged in combat with him. While in combat the enemies make certain assumptions on where Drake is, based on his last known location. If they lose sight of Drake for a few seconds, they will start hunting around the area, starting with his last known location, and then spread their search out if he\'s not found. Our battles can be switched up from straightforward gun fights to an action-stealth battle midway through, picking off each enemy one by one as they separate in their hunt for Drake.

This just further reinforces our focus on creating player choice in Uncharted 2 and "choice" is the other key word here. We\'ve implemented the new action-stealth mechanics with the knowledge that not everyone likes stealth game play. We think it\'s fun and it adds a lot to our ability to reinforce the story, but you should play the way you want, even if that means just going in guns blazing. We\'re just giving the player more options to play the setups however they like.

6. The technology in Naughty Dog games have always pushed the technology, a trend continued by Uncharted. What improvements have you made in the sequel, and how have you pushed the technology further?

Naughty Dog has a fifteen-year tradition of pushing the PlayStation hardware to its limits, and Uncharted 2 sees us setting new gold standards in limit-pushing! After we shipped Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune we gave our programmers some time to freely explore any aspect of our engine or the hardware that they were interested in. Everybody immediately got down to business, tweaking the code and adding new features to our engine. As a result, we\'ve been able to squeeze out a lot more of the power out of the Playstation 3, by optimizing our SPU code and parceling out more jobs to the SPUs in general.

With Uncharted 2, the Naughty Dog Engine 2.0 simply allows us to do more, do it better and do it faster. For example, we can display more polygons on screen than we could in Uncharted, allowing us to create environments with even more detail than the last game, and we\'ve increased the number of enemies that Drake can fight at once. Our lighting and shadowing systems have been overhauled. We\'ve revamped the way we render our skies to include much more realistic light effects and a procedural layer of cloud cover.

Also, we\'re really going for it with the rendering of the snow in Uncharted 2, just like we did with water in the first game - if Naughty Dog is going to do snow, it\'s got to be the best snow that you\'ve ever seen in a videogame! So we\'ve added shaders for ice, frost and snow that include simulated sub-surface scattering, to really capture the subtle way that light scatters through frozen water.

As if that wasn\'t enough, we\'re taking on fur and cloth this time. Our animations are more fluid and even more complex. The AI systems have been vastly expanded. The list goes on and on.

[size=+1]Exploring the Art of Uncharted 2[/size]

Quote

In Uncharted 2 we really wanted to emphasis the fact that we are providing a gameplay experience that no other game out there offers. Our hero, Nathan Drake, has a fully featured move set that lets him traverse his environment freely whether it be by running, jumping, climbing, swinging or swimming.

In the first game we already had a leg up on other shooters by having a character that could climb and jump around his environment, but we were limited by the states from which he could actually fire his weapon. Now those limits have been lifted with what we\'re calling "traversal gunplay". This really frees us up to put Drake in some over-the-top, blockbuster film-like situations with combat setups anytime and anywhere - even when Drake is negotiating some tricky traversal sections that might require some problem-solving to overcome. To top it all off, we\'ve added the ability for him to perform all of this climbing, jumping, and shooting while on moving objects, both large and small. The result is the ability to pull off some really memorable moments like the one inspired by this piece of concept art.

The game is looking great...the seemless animation transistions are coming along fine, and the environments are incredibly detailed...the ONLY nit-pic that i see is the sliding animation....it looks a bit awkward, and seems like that they can really just leave that animation out...but everything else is lookin\' good....i like how nate grabs the guy from behind and smacks him into the wall...:fro:....using the enemy shield is a nice touch too.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Release date: Fall 2009

The first game still looks great to this day, but Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a show-stopper. The new procedural animation system is simply incredible (characters\' hands fluidly move from ledge to ledge, for instance) and it plays naturally into the massive environments that shift and crumble as you take down the pirates. And let\'s not forget the lush foliage, massive environments and incredible attention to detail. Amazing.

Chris Morell, PlayStation.Blog: Hi everyone, and welcome to today\'s Uncharted 2 live chat on the PlayStation.Blog! We\'re incredibly excited to have Evan Wells and Amy Hennig here from Naughty Dog. Welcome, Evan and Amy!

2:01
AmyH: Hello, everyone!

[Comment From EmjayX]
hi naughty dog!

[Comment From Conor]
Hello Naughty Dog !

2:01
Evan Wells: Hey guys!

2:01
Chris Morell, PlayStation.Blog: Evan is Co-President and Amy is Creative Director, and I\'ll shut up now so we can get to the good stuff. Let\'s get this started!
2:02

[Comment From thenatureboy56]
So how long is Uncharted 2 going to be length wise?

2:03
[Comment From Liamario]
How did the Beta goin you opinion?

2:04
Evan Wells: The single player campaign is definitely going to be longer than Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune. We have over 90 minutes of cinematics alone! And of course we have the competitve and co-op multiplayer modes too!

2:04
[Comment From Alex P.]
What have been your inspirations for the story and the action behind Uncharted 2?

2:07
Evan Wells: The Beta was a huge success. Thanks to everybody who took part. We got a lot of great feedback on the forums that\'s going to make the final game play much better. We\'ve already implemented a ton of the features that were requested and we have a lot of new game modes, maps, and boosters that we\'re looking forward to showing off soon.

2:07
[Comment From Havoc_Maker]
Will Uncharted 2 have multiplayer trophies?

2:08
AmyH: For both Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune and Uncharted 2, we drew our inspiration from the long-established traditions of the action-adventure genre in books, comics, movies, etc. We always wanted Uncharted to capture the feel of a really great action-adventure movie, but with the player in control -- to really immerse the player in the world and the characters.
Our specific inspirations have been too many to list here -- but we definitely deconstructed all the stories and films that we loved, to break down all the themes, moments, events, set-pieces, etc. that people have come to love in the best action-adventure movies, but to put all those ideas in an interactive context.
That was long-winded. Sorry.

2:08
[Comment From xaos]
Evan and Amy, thanks for taking the time; was there any concern when deciding to add multiplayer that the new focus might hinder the single player experience? Any pitfalls to balancing the two?

2:10
Evan Wells: We\'re still finalizing our final list of Trophies and it looks like we might include a couple of MP trophies, but we don\'t want to have any that require any amount of grinding to rack up a ton of kills or wins.

2:11
[Comment From Jack]
What area of the game are you most proud of?

2:11
AmyH: Actually, developing the multiplayer experience has enabled us to improve and enhance the single player experience, because it\'s allowed us to really tune all the play mechanics and get a lot of great feedback along the way.
We made sure when we set out to create the multiplayer component of the game, that it wouldn\'t impact the single player experience negatively in any way. We expanded the team to accommodate the additional development, and assigned people to focus exclusively on multiplayer or single-player. That way both experiences are equally well-developed.

2:12
[Comment From Guest]
Is there an official planned release date yet or still just sometime in the fall?

2:12
[Comment From Guest]
Will there be split-screen?

2:13
Evan Wells: We still haven\'t announced our release date. So for now it\'s still "Fall", but I assure you that an official date will be announced very soon.

2:13
AmyH: For me, it\'s the overall cinematic presentation and the quality of storytelling we\'ve been able to achieve. It\'s really a tribute to everyone\'s efforts, because all elements of the game have to come together to create a really seamless cinematic experience. We\'re always striving to push the envelope and break new ground in cinematic storytelling, so it\'s been really gratifying to see how excited people are about this aspect of the game.

2:14
[Comment From Russell C.]
How is the hand-to-hand combat in this game? Is it much like the first, or has it been revamped to be more intricate?

2:15
[Comment From Nate]
We saw in Uncharted 1 the drama between Nate and Elena. How important, would you say, is the drama between the characters this time around?

2:15
Evan Wells: We are only supporting online multiplayer. We didn\'t want to comprimise the visuals going from single player to multiplayer and to include a split screen option at this time would have meant making that sacrifice.

2:16
[Comment From manuvlad]
Waht do you guys think about the uncharted movie?

2:18
AmyH: Uncharted is, at its heart, a character-driven story. I think that\'s why the game has such a broad demographic appeal -- we find people of all ages and genders are fans of the game, and I think it\'s because we\'ve got characters (and a story) that are compelling.
So the drama, emotions and conflicts between the characters are critical to our story. Of course there are external plot events that push the story forward, but it\'s really the relationships between the characters the propel the story along. In this regard, I think Uncharted 2 is even more dramatic than the last game.

2:18
Evan Wells: Our entire combat and enemy system has been revamped for this game which includes our hand to hand melee. We now have classes of enemies that will change the way in which you have to approach them. The lightest classes of enemy will allow you to perform hand to hand combat much the same way it was in U:DF, but the medium classes enemies will counter your attacks requiring you to dodge before you can finish them off. Then the heaviest class of enemies won\'t let you melee them at all!

2:18
[Comment From mitchell1705]
Is there going to be a open beta or demo before the full release?

2:20
AmyH: We\'re really excited about the development of Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune as a movie -- we\'ve been working with Arad Productions for the last year-and-a-half or so, and couldn\'t be happier about their enthusiasm for the project. We\'re looking forward to sharing more info with you all as soon as we can.

2:20
[Comment From Guest]
Can you elaborate a little bit on the stealth mechanics in Uncharted 2? Is it possible to play through the whole game stealthily? And for instance, are there weapons equipped with silencers?

2:22
Evan Wells: Yes, we\'re going to have another multiplayer demo before the game hits shelves. The exact timing isn\'t finalized yet, but it should be available to an even wider group this time, so if you missed the last one I don\'t think you\'ll have any problem getting in this one.

2:23
[Comment From Bryan]
How many multilayer modes? What are they?

2:24
[Comment From Nate Fox]
What are some things you have learned from creating Uncharted 1 that you may incorporate/change with Uncharted 2?

2:28
AmyH: Uncharted 1 gave us a great foundation for building Uncharted 2 -- having that foundation (both technically and in terms of experience) has allowed us to optimize all aspects of our code, as well as giving us more insight into how to create a really well-tuned, polished cinematic gameplay experience.
Like I said above, it\'s critical that all aspects of the game come together to create that seamless experience -- allowing the player to stay immersed in the game.

2:28
Evan Wells: We haven\'t announced all of the multiplayer modes yet, but I can tell you that you have several more competitive modes than we tested in the beta and at least 2 more cooperative modes (that are actually some of my favorite). We also have variations on all the competitivemodes that focus on specific kinds of weapons. And of course our Cinema mode allows you to play back any of your matches and view it from ANY angle. You\'ll also be able to upload those recordings so others can download them and view them on their PS3\'s. You\'ll also be able to upload screenshots from that mode as well.

2:29
[Comment From Modfather]
I am loving the beta, feels good online, so far so good

[Comment From bg93]
Who writes the story for Uncharted?

2:30

First I wanna say I loved the Beta but I didnt play the first one. So my question is how friendly is Uncharted 2 for new players, story wise?

Evan Wells: Thanks! We\'ve received overwhelmingly positive responses to the Beta and as I\'ve said before the data that we gathered has helped us make it even better. For instance we now have a skill rating that we use to match players against one another to ensure that the matches are close.

2:32
Chris Morell, PlayStation.Blog: If you\'ve just joined us, we\'re chatting Uncharted 2 with Amy and Evan from Naughty Dog. We\'re about halfway through, so keep the great questions coming (remember, you can see the entire history of the chat by scrolling up).

2:32
[Comment From rukusa]
awesome Evan

2:33
AmyH: It\'s a collaborative process -- I\'m basically like the head writer, but there are several of us internally that work on the story, scenes and dialogue together. Plus we work with our mocap/voice director and actors continually over the course of the project (which is really unusual in our industry), and we do table reads, rehearse and revise the material together. This collaboration really helps the quality of the writing, and helps us get a realism and emotional authenticity that I think a lot of games lack.

2:33
Evan Wells: We were very conscious to make sure that Uncharted 2 was a stand alone experience. There is no expectation that you played the first game to enjoy the second. There are a couple of returning characters that fans of the first will enjoy seeing, but both the gameplay and story will be easy to follow for first time Uncharted players.

2:33
[Comment From Joey]
Will there be more or less puzzles this time around? You guys rock!!

2:34
[Comment From Sponge-worthy]
More puzzles!!!

2:34
[Comment From Guest]
How\'s the platforming / puzzle solving / combat (action) mix in Uncharted 2?

2:37
AmyH: I\'d say there\'s a similar amount of puzzles in Uncharted 2 as in Uncharted 1, but overall there\'s also more problem-solving in the levels -- meaning: figuring out how to navigate the environments, and what\'s the best approach to different combat set-ups. Also, we still have a journal in this game (this time it\'s Nate\'s journal, not Francis Drake\'s diary) to assist in puzzle-solving -- but this time the player will have to thumb through the pages themselves to suss out the solutions to the problems.

2:37
[Comment From Pound_lb003]
What crazy technical terms can you throw at us, that the ND Engine 2.0 boasts?

2:38
[Comment From wsowen02]
How varied are the environments this time?

2:40
[Comment From Luke]
You told us the snow is going to be the best snow we ever saw. We got some footage of that snow in trailers, but can you tell us more, of how this snow is going to work? By the way, you\'re an awesome company Naughty Dog.

2:40
Evan Wells: Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, deferred rendering, cloud computing, paralax mapping, high dynamic range tonemapping, per object motion blur, cascade shadows, sub surface scattering simulation...

2:40
AmyH: Nate does a little more globe-trotting in this game than in Uncharted 1, so there\'s a wider variety of environments. Everything from urban areas, ancient temples, jungle swamps to snowy and icy locales. Nate\'s journey takes him from Turkey to Borneo, up to Nepal and into Tibet and the Himalayas.

2:42
[Comment From Pound_lb003]
Beautiful! Thanks!

2:44
[Comment From Person youll never know]
Will Sully and Elena make a return?

2:45
Evan Wells: We\'re using a variety of rendering techniques (several mentioned in my last answer Cool) to give our snow and ice a realistic look. Drake and the enemies will leave footprints in the snow with 3D clumps that build up around their feet, and it even has gameplay implications when the weather really whips up and visibility becomes an issue.

2:46
AmyH: Yep, both Sullivan and Elena return in this game. If you saw our recent trailer, you\'ll know that we finally let the cat out of the bag on that one. It\'s great to know that people like these characters so much that they want to see them return - I know it means a lot to the actors, too, since they\'re very invested in their characters by now.  Sorry to keep the secret for so long -- the very first scene we mocapped 11 months ago was with Nate and Elena, so it\'s been hard to keep quiet about this for so long...

2:46
[Comment From bg93]
Are we getting alot of epic moments like the helicopter battle?

2:50
[Comment From Sidney Shuman]
This is awfully specific, but: Will that sweet .45 Defender handgun ever make it to competitive MP?

2:50
Evan Wells: Absolutely! We want to create that feel of a summer blockbuster so through out the game you\'re going to be hit with these set-piece moments that push Drake right to the limit of his abilities. You may have caught glimpses of a few of those other moments in our E3 trailer, like being attacked by a tank, and running a long a train as it\'s barreling up the side of a mountain.

2:51
[Comment From GameProid]
The MP beta is tremendous, but I can\'t help but feel it\'d be more fun if the high-powered guns were placed high in the level to encourage more jumping and climbing. Is this something you guys are considering?

2:52
Chris Morell, PlayStation.Blog: We\'ve only got a few minutes left with Amy and Evan (time flies!), so get those last questions in!

2:53
Evan Wells: The .45 Defender is currently only available in our cooperative multiplayer modes. In competitve we found that the more powerful pistols were necessary to stay competitve against the rifles...

2:54
[Comment From sinny]
Are you going to use the motion capabilities of the sixaxis in this game?

2:57
AmyH: Re: the sixaxis, we\'ve refined our grenade-throwing mechanics in Uncharted 2, so that now we have a dedicated button for grenades. The sixaxis controls are optional, but they really enhance the grenade mechanics now that we\'ve got a dedicated button for it.

2:57
Evan Wells: It\'s been a high priority for us with our multiplayer to encourage jumping and climbing. Some of the maps that weren\'t included in the beta offer even more verticality and multilevel gameplay. Sometimes the best weapons aren\'t placed in the highest postions, but the best strategy is to acquire the weapon and then move to a higher vantage point.

2:57
[Comment From UNCHARTED FAN]
Hi Amy, Congratulations to you and all of your team on another fantastic story! Can you delve into how Nate seems to be darker this time around. What\'s happening with his character is very intriguing!

3:01
AmyH: Thanks, Uncharted Fan Smile I wouldn\'t say Nate is necessarily "darker" this time -- we\'re just getting more of a window into his character than we did in the last game. In U:DF, we sort of hinted that he and Sully are slightly shady characters, but pretty quickly Nate was called upon to play the role of the hero, once he and Elena were on the island. In this game, we wanted to explore more of that side of Nate -- who is he in his regular life, what sort of people does he associate with? As a modern-day fortune hunter, he\'s essentially a criminal, but he\'s got an ethical core that many of the characters around him don\'t have.

3:02
[Comment From GREGMILLERSUCKS]
based on the mp beta, uncharted 2 is already looking like the best game on ps3... are you sharing your tech with other ps3 devs?

3:07
Evan Wells: We\'re very fortunate to have a great group of first party developers within Sony that we\'re able to collaborate with. We\'re frequently exchanging technical ideas and even share some code from time to time. We\'ve even posted the entire source code of Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune to Sony\'s internal severers so that any first party developer can look through it, or borrow from it... and we plan on doing the same thing when Uncharted 2 ships. We also have a group of programmers here at Naughty Dog called the ICE team. They\'ve been busy writing highly optimized code for the PS3 for the last 5+ years, and that code has been shared externally with the PS3 dev community in the form of the EDGE libraries. So, in short, yes we share our tech Cool.

3:08
Chris Morell, PlayStation.Blog: And that\'s all the time we have with Naughty Dog. Thanks so much to Amy and Evan, and thanks to everyone who participated!! See you next time!

I stopped believing this kind of crap from ND...no offence...
...I still remember when they said: "Using 50% of the Main CPU and 10% of the vector units, we can still do a lot more than the XCPU...so...XBox cannot be a leap over PS2 !"----> they truly showed their ignorance and BS in that statement...

This is an old quote from the guys at ND...do you think we should believe everything developers say ??

http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=184267&page=3

Funny how ND basically said the same thing this time around.

Fun read. The Xbox gamers back then refused to believe a developer on their second attempt could optimize the game even more. Which we saw time and time again on PS2, and we are seeing it on all systems (maybe not the Wii ;) )

arguably my favorite ps3 game. It\'s not a long game, but its not crazy short either..probably 8-10 hours if you look for the hidden stuff. 60 bucks is a little steep, which is what they raised the price back too since the game got weirdly popular after they announced the second one. but if you can get it for 40-50 bucks, grab it asap

i guess used at gamestop is 40 bucks. definitely worth that

Demo sucks ass compared to the whole game. It really does not give you a good feeling for how the game is. ND did a poor job selecting a demo section. :(

I would have selected when you go exploring with Sully.. you get to see the jungle, then go down to the tombs and later take part in firefights with Elena (cut away the submarine from the demo :P ). Love that part.

[size=+1]Uncharted 2 Will Be 40 Percent Adventure, 60 Percent Action, 100 Percent Awesome[/size]

Quote

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be about 40 percent exploration and puzzle-solving and 60 percent action, but developers Naughty Dog hope you don\'t notice that.

What they want you to notice instead is the pacing of this second entry in the franchise, that the action is more tense, the exploration more seamlessly integrated into the title and the puzzles more subtle.

"I think gamers are going to notice that it\'s going to be a little more action packed," said Naughty Dog spokesman Arne Myer. "There\'s a little more tension, a little more action behind everything (Nathan Drake) does."

Naughty Dog tried worked to create a game that is much bigger than the first title, one that has broader scope and a better sense of scale.

Meyer showed off a new level to press attending a behind closed doors meeting with them during this week\'s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

In it Drake has been sent to snowy mountains where he has to work with a Tibetan guide to find a hidden temple in an ice cave.

"We\'ve been showing off a lot of action," Meyer said. "In this section we wanted to change it up a bit and show a bit of exploration and puzzles."

The scene opened in the mountains. The nearby Tibetan guide, wearing a widebrim hat, layers of colorful clothing, stands on the edge of a frozen precipice.

Drake shoots a box resting on the edge of a higher cliff near a chasm and uses the rope that falls out to swing across the gap. He free climbs up and around the mountain, higher and higher until he discovers stones carved out of the mountain side, following them into the entrance of a cave framed with ornately carved statues.

Outside snow falls, slightly obscuring the view. Drake\'s pants legs slowly get wet as he trudges through the snow, leaving light foot prints in his wake.

When he enters the mammoth caves the snow stops. The cave is lined with statues, ledges, mechanisms. Meyer spends the next dozen minutes or so using switches to open doors and shift carvings. The room-size puzzle involves a lot of scrambling between ledges, jumping from platform to platform and pulling switches.

Throughout the level Meyer controls the camera angles with one of the thumbsticks as he plays.

After completing the area, which leads Drake to a giant statue of what appears to be Kali, Meyer said that the puzzle is one of the largest pieces included in the game.

"It\'s pretty involved," he says. It looks it.

"We really tried to fit the length of the puzzle with the pacing of the story," he said.

While the game\'s campaign doesn\'t include any cooperative play for a second gamer, much of the game does have Drake working with one or more companions.

"We thought about whether we could have cooperative in the game," Meyer said. "But the game is really centered around Nathan and his personality. It didn\'t really make sense to do coop."

After the demo wrapped up I told Meyer that I was concerned that the game could shift too much of the focus of the gameplay on puzzle solving, making it essentially Tomb Raider. But Meyer said that isn\'t Naughty Dog\'s goal. What the developer hopes to do is create a more seamless experience that shifts between shooting, exploration and puzzle solving.

"Our goal with Uncharted 2 was to make a balanced game that encompasses a diverse mix of gameplay from gun combat, hand to hand melee, puzzle solving, traversing, exploring, and vehicle sections," said Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells. "That\'s what makes it an action/adventure game, which I think it the better label to use for the 60/40 split… 60% action, 40% adventure."

[size=+1]UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves has officially gone gold in North America![/size]

Quote

UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves has officially gone gold in North America! That means only 32 days until it hits store shelves. I couldn’t be more proud of the teams at Naughty Dog and Sony who have put their lives on hold to make a truly exceptional game.

If you can’t wait until October 13th, SCEA and Sony Electronics have partnered to produce four exclusive “sneak peek” events that bring UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves to the big screen before launch. At these VIP events, attendees will join Naughty Dog in a night of food, fun and Multiplayer tournaments with the chance to win lots of cool prizes—including the Fortune Hunter Edition. Attendees will also have the chance to play UNCHARTED 2 on the ultimate high definition big screen, powered by Sony Electronics 4K digital cinema technology, which provides image resolution four times greater than any high-definition consumer television out there. Sony Electronics is working with major theaters across the country to create “digital destinations”, pairing 4K digital cinema technology with enhanced services and amenities, such as food, sporting events and music, to create an unprecented entertainment experience. UNCHARTED 2 will be one of the first pre-released games showcased at select sites.

The “sneak peek” events will take place on 10/5 and 10/6 at the theaters below.

the hype is a little much for uncharted 2. itll be an awesome game, but its gotten to the point that theres no way its going to match what people think the game will be. It wont for me since I try to keep things in perspective, but the gaming community, unfortunately, is pretty retarded.

that being said, I have to restrict myself from buying ALL of the games i\'d like, but this one I\'m getting no matter what.

it scored an impossible 21/20. Then, the Official PlayStation Magazine scored it a perfect 5 out of 5, followed by another perfect score - 10 out of 10 - from UK publication GamesRadar. IGN just popped up a score of 9.5 and we\'re all willing to bet that you\'re anxiously awaiting our review.

One thing that I didn\'t touch on when I was talking about combat was the AI. Those of you who played the original (and if you haven\'t, head to the store ASAP) know that Nate was up against some very smart foes. They\'d take cover, use grenades well and were generally fun to fight because of this. For better or worse, things are about the same this time around. Honestly, I didn\'t really expect an obvious improvement because they were already so good, so that\'s actually praise rather than a complaint. I will say though that the AI continues to make great use of the environment even though it\'s generally way more complicated this time around, which is great.

Now, while the opponent AI was already impressive, your companion AI is absolutely phenomenal. You\'re almost always with someone else this time around, which was something that I was a little concerned about when I had originally heard this as friendly AI almost always gets in the way. Not here, and not ever.

It really feels like they\'re with you rather than in your way, thinking for themselves and doing stuff that real people would do. If there are climbing sequences, the computer will either quickly go ahead or stay back and wait for you to pass it first. If there\'s a gunfight, it\'ll find its own cover, take care of itself and stay out of your way. The only time in the game that I thought the AI did something that I wasn\'t pleased with was once when I came to a room where two factions where fighting, we were hidden in cover and I wanted to wait the battle out. After staying quiet for about 30 seconds and playing along, Chloe popped up and joined the battle, dragging me into it as well. That\'s it. During the other ten hours of the adventure, of which a good eight-plus is spent with someone at your side, they were always complementary rather than hurtful and often actually very helpful.

Quote
It\'s impossible to talk about Uncharted 2 without mentioning its visuals. I\'ve already touched on the fantastic presentation in the cutscenes, but there are some scenes that you\'ll play in that will have your jaw on the floor. The world is packed with bits of detail that do nothing for gameplay, but do a lot to draw you into the world and make you feel like this is a real place. The texture detail is astounding, the amount of random stuff everywhere is mind boggling, the lighting is some of the best we\'ve ever seen and the overall art direction is phenomenal. And of course, let me not forget to mention the amazing animation, killer explosions and pretty much every other pixel on the screen.

The first thing I want to talk about is the graphics. Every single pixel in the game is very well detailed. There will be times where you are going to feel like it\'s a real world and you\'re out there fighting for your life. Every little bit of the game in terms of graphics, is absolutely brilliant. There\'s always going to be lots of activity on the screen, and the animations are so well done that you will have to pause the game to pick your jaw up. The cinematic\'s are out of this world, well what can I say, it\'s the best looking game out there. Period.

The next thing I want to get into is the music. For me, music plays a huge role in every single video game, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will surprise you. The music is gorgeous from beginning to end, Greg Edmonson did an outstanding job creating the music for this game, and please game developers take note: THIS IS HOW YOU\'RE SUPPOSED TO DO A SOUNDTRACK. Trust me, it\'s that good.

Gameplay in Uncharted 2 is similar to Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune, but with certain differences, since a new stealth mode has been added to the game and you\'re going to be using it quite a lot. There will be occasions where you won\'t be seen by enemies, and you\'ll use stealth to your advantage. Talking about stealth though, it\'s really simple and intuitive so I doubt anyone will have a problem with it. You can actually avoid meaningless battles with this cool new feature. Also, Naughty Dog made fights much more fun by giving you more options on how you decide to take on your enemies. Will it be behind a wall? Up in a roof? Or you can just run and gun them Rambo style? It\'s up to you to decide. There will always be a handful of options. Climbing hasn\'t changed at all it\'s still as smooth as ever, and there wasn\'t a part in the whole game where I died because of lazy developing. Although there are few puzzles in Uncharted 2, you\'re going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out.

Another point I want to cover is the enemy AI, and oh god this will give you trouble... They will do everything they can to stop you. They\'ll use the environment the same way you do, so watch out. Your partners AI on the other hand is equally competent. Naughty Dog made sure that you will have a quality AI teammate to watch your back. Since you spend most of the game with friendly AI, I thought that the AI was goint to be lacking making me remember the times when I let the AI drive the warthog in Halo 3 leading me to my death. Fortunately for all you fans out there, the game\'s AI is impressive overall and it won\'t let you down. For the first time in a videogame, you\'re not going to scream: "Get out of the way!" since you\'re friends are going to be there to actually back you up, not to piss you off.

Quote

In closure, Uncharted 2 will be a thrilling experience and will make you cry for more once you end the single player, but the multiplayer will be there for you giving you a lot of replayability. You also won\'t find better graphics in any other console game, and god I\'ll just stop it, day one for every Playstation 3 owner.

The cutscenes also merit a very special mention. Often I found myself so drawn into a cutscene that I momentarily forgot that once it was over, I had to pick up the controller and play on. While the characters, script writing and dialogue delivery play a major role in achieving this, it’s also the stunning character models, impeccable body language and facial expressions, and cinematic direction that draw you in completely. It’s the set up that these cut scenes provide that makes the gameplay that follows all the more immersive, and Naughty Dog deserve the highest praise, as do the voice actors, for making Uncharted 2 one of the best told stories in gaming.

Quote

Some would say Killzone 2 is the best looking console game ever; others would say it’s Metal Gear Solid 4. While they’re both brilliant, neither holds a candle to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves purely because of the diversity in environments and sheer scale on offer here. Think back to your first reaction when you entered the Amazonian forest in Drake’s Fortune and how the lighting and textures left you speechless. Now multiply that by ten and you have Uncharted 2. From the ice caps of Tibet to the lush jungles of Borneo, the game will never cease to shock you with its graphical brilliance.

It’s unfair, really, because you can’t do justice to the beautiful and painstakingly detailed surroundings as events unfold around you. You almost never get the time to take a step back and marvel at the rich architecture, the wonderful draw distances, the lush forests and the breath-taking ice caves. There is never a drop in frame rates and no evidence of screen-tearing or texture pop-in whatsoever, and all of this is achieved without a mandatory installation or a single loading screen from start to finish. The remarkably high resolution textures, unparalleled lighting effects, fluid animations, and realistic explosions all deserve a special mention here as well. It’s almost too much to take note of and the game warrants a second play through just so you can take in the sights that you will undoubtedly miss the first time around.

one reason I like it is to get the crappy part of paying out of the way. Then you just walk in, grab your game, and start playing instead of thinking anything about the money.

but with best buy around I dont see any real reason to pre-order.

which is why they have the exclusive content for pretty much every game when you pre-order now

well, I preorder for 2 reasons.

first one is that it\'s cheaper to buy games online here, for example, if I wanted to buy modern warfare 2 instore, it would cost me £55. if I want to buy the game online from the same company, it would cost me between £45 & £50.

second, because it\'s preordered online, more often that not, it arrives the day before its official release, and occasionally 2 days before as the company you preorder with tries to honour their promise of delivering preorders on time by shipping a day earlier than they would with normal games.

I got tiger woods 10 2 days before its stated official release date by preodering from game.co.uk.

as well as all that, game.co.uk offer double rewards points on preorders.

nice. thanks for the heads up

im not going to play the SP demo if they make one...i know it\'ll kick ass and i dont want to play any part for a second time on the first play through

edit: just played a match online. Was pretty damn fun but its one of those games that I can only play for a short-period of time. Wasn\'t up for another game after my last one, mainly because it\'s non-stop action but the match takes a good amount of time to get to 50 kills. The bigger maps seem like they could be really cool if the sniping isnt out of control

It looks absolutely stunning! I\'m gonna have to get me a ps3 for this and GT5 later on...
One thing though, the gametrailer review mentioned bad AI (when in stealth mode), which is curious seeing as how others praised it. However this may be, this game looks to be a must own.

It was basically the enemy characters basically not noticing you during the stealth missions...apparently you could be squating(spel) right next to them about to perform a quick takedown and they won\'t even notice it....it\'s minor stuff tho...they also stated that this game is a full 7-8 hours longer than first one...:fro:

Graphically this game is off the chains....the first game was great and this game looks to improve upon that great formula.

[size=+2]CraveOnline Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Review :[/size]

Quote

I really can\'t stress enough just how awesome Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is. The gunplay gets the adrenaline pumping, the platforming remains just as satisfying as ever, and while debatable, the game is definitely in the running for the best looking piece of interactive software to date. But even with my inner fanboy screaming at me, telling me this game deserves a perfect score for delivering a vastly superior singleplayer campaign and one hell of an addictive online component, the reviewer in me can\'t help but dock the score just a tad because when it boils down to it; Uncharted 2: Among Thieves doesn\'t provide any worthy new innovations for the series. If you\'ve played the first Uncharted, Uncharted 2 will feel the exact same with a new pretty paint job. But let it be known, I absolutely loved this game. I really don\'t want to come off as some elitist reviewer snob asshole. Speaking as a video game fanatic, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves easily ranks as one of my all-time favorite gaming experiences. Obviously making it a must-buy for all Playstation 3 owners, but I don\'t think anyone was ever really going to be debating that.

The graphics engine is spectacular at 30 frames per second. Entire city locations are rendered in full as the player basks in an overload of sharp-textured buildings and fluid water effects. At peak areas, the engine shines with rooftops as far as the eye can see, and moonlight that etches a glimmer of a calm ocean.

Animations are well-constructed as Drake stumbles, grabs, and hangs on for dear life in each situation. His genuine reaction to extraordinary circumstances evoke a sense of peril and humor.

The soundtrack is high quality, with blaring orchestral themes of dashing heroism, mystical locals, and intense drum beats in battle.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for PS3 is a stellar action title that is not only a killer app for the Sony hardware, but a new leap in the action genre.

5.0 GraphicsThis game is sensational to look at from beginning to end and from single-player to multiplayer.

4.5 Control
This is an excellent third-person shooter and platformer that only marginally suffers from cover and climbing issues.

5.0 Music / Sound FX / Voice Acting
The score, sound effects, and voice acting are perfection.

4.7 Play Value
The single-player story is outstanding. The multiplayer component is great, but it doesn\'t quite match up to the best out there. All in all, this is an excellent gameplay experience that will have a ton of value no matter what kind of gamer you are.

4.9 Overall Rating - Must Buy

The graphics in this game really shine. As my non-gamer roommate who is fond of watching me play games observed, "Wow! This is incredible. It looks like a travelogue!" And indeed it was. Many times it seemed like something you might see on the HD National Geographic channel. Throughout the game there are carefully placed spots that if you take the time to stop and notice them, offer incredible views that show off the sheer hours of work it must have taken to construct these marvelous landscapes. The character models are equally impressive, created in loving detail with every pore intact. If this is what a company can do with graphics this early in the PS3\'s lifespan, imagine what games will look like five years down the road.

So I was planning on going and getting the game tomorrow morning.  Then my wife tells me I can\'t. I ask why.  "Just don\'t"

Well my birthday is this weekend.  I told her that I wasn\'t waiting until this weekend.

So she spilled the beans that my mom pre-ordered it to be sent to me from somewhere online.  Ugh...  So hopefully it will come today.  Or tomorrow..

I told her I\'d go buy it and then just return the one my mom gets me when ratchet and clank come out.

I\'ve already purchased WET, so it looks like i\'ll be getting uncharted2, Batman AA, & silent hill shattered memories. I plan on getting fallout 3 GOTY edition as soon as that drops tho...aggh and i can\'t forget about tekken6

I\'m getting pissed.  I have no tracking number and no way of knowing when I\'m getting this game.  UGH!!!!!  That\'s what I get for my mom trying to be nice and surprise me with something I want!!!

If I don\'t get it today, I can buy it from Best Buy and then use the receipt to return the unopened one I get in the mail, right?  I mean there are several games coming out in the coming weeks I want anyway.

It\'s a good game and so much to do within the game with the riddles but the game play got repetitive to me. Doing the same thing over and over got kind of old. Great game for batman nuts but for me meh. I would have passed on it if I wasn\'t so hype for the game.

Uncharted 2 looks awesome too bad I won\'t be able to get it until next week. But I will be out of town so I won\'t even have my ps3 with me.

Man clips you spending a lot of bread on game this month. I know a lot of good games coming out I want to get GOTY because I was going to go buy fallout 3 when I got my ps3 but the GOTY was coming out. It would have cost more to buy the game and the maps than to just wait on the GOTY addition.

I could only play 3 hours last night. The normal difficulty is harder then Uncharted1. The enemy AI move toward you more quickly it\'s always under pressure. Can\'t wait to unlock the hardest mode! :D They added a new feature in brawl mode were you can be grabbed but you can counter with triangle then square which make action a little less square square square trianglish (lol). Too bad I could not play more, only 3 hours. For what i\'ve seen, it\'s everything that i\'ve expected. Topnotch graphic, sound, voice acting and gameplay.

I did a bit in the single player and it is truly something to see.  I mean people can sit there watching you play the game and you\'d think you were watching a movie.  Absolutely incredible.

Multiplayer so far I\'m just Meh on..   I like Call of Duty multiplayer a lot more.  So I think when I get through the single player this is going back to Gamestop.  I have a feeling when Modern Warfare 3 comes out I will be sunk into that multiplayer for a while.

definitely had a little bit of a metal gear complex on the cutscenes at the beginning. but the gameplay seems to be picking up now (thankfully).

Im going to end up beating it like 3 times to get all the trophies, but i still dont want to beat the game too quickly so I need to pace myself. but it\'s awesome so far.

I actually like the multiplayer, but its still nothing special. Their \'capture the flag\' is probably one of my favorite variations on the mode though

Uncharted 2 becomes the 3rd fastest-selling PS3 game of all time in America, week one worldwide sales expected to exceed one million units!

Quote

Uncharted 2 sells over 300,000 on day one in America

Quote

As reported on Monday, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves preorders had reached around 300,000 units in the Americas prior to release. Well we can now reveal that preliminary VGChartz data shows day one sales of over 300,000 units. By the end of play on Saturday we expect the week one sales to be in the region of 450,000 - 500,000 units, making Uncharted 2 the 3rd fastest-selling PS3 title to date in America behind Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Day one sales in Japan have been independently reported at around 47,000 units - week one sales should be in the 60,000 - 65,000 range. Although VGChartz does not yet have any hard sales for Europe, we expect week one to come in around 400,000 - 500,000 units bringing worldwide week one sales to around one million units. This would place Uncharted 2 as the fourth fastest-selling PS3 game worldwide. The original Uncharted sold 135,000 units in week one, so this represents nearly an 8-fold increase.

So where are you guys in the game?  I am at chapter 17.  Just had the scene with the old dude that they release a couple months ago as a teaser.

The puzzles have been pretty cool so far.  Not too hard which is nice.  Although every time the hint button comes up Logan tells me to hit it.  I don\'t though.  Their hints are too much.  They need to be a bit more subtle.

I finished it on normal and am halfway through hard. I don\'t usually wear headphones for gaming (the gun fire and explosions will wake my 4 month old), but man, the quality of the audio is impressive! Gotta love some of the one-liners too.

I started Uncharted1 on normal, then hard, then crashing. It was another game on crashing, so soo challenging.  I finished it 8 times.  it depends on your taste, and I really loved it.

I was half way with Uncharted2, deleted everything, and started again from the beginning. I don\'t want to finish it :)   and from now on, I\'ll play just a bit day by day.

I can only speak from going from normal to hard.....which is not much of a jump if you ask me. Crushing, I suppose, might be more appreciable. I\'ve enjoyed Drake\'s Fortune multiple times, so I personally don\'t think that this experience will be any different. My motivation is the treasure collecting at this point, as they have a little more difficult to find than the previous game, as well as unlocking the rest of the trophies. Plus, I\'m taking a little more time to savour the finer details that I may have missed first time around.

Finally finished the story line of Uncharted 2.

WOW! This game was great. The game play, awesome. The story line, awesome. The dialogue, awesome. But what really made me ooh and aah the most was the attention to detail in every level. It was meticulous and near realistic. I saw no areas that were recycled into later levels. It was a fantastic ride from beginning to end.

Now to go back and get the rest of the treasures. I got 45 total on Normal.

Next 3 chapters will blow you away :)   ...and not only them...

Anyway I fully understand you, and I don\'t want the story to end as well.  I was at chapter 19, deleted everything, and started from the beginning and played only 1,2 chapters per day.   Now I\'m close to the end, and I\'m not sad, as I\'ll play again at crashing, and again, have to find all treasures, trophy and build a better strategy.   I already played some chapters 3,4 times and every time is more fun, more satisfying !  The story flows so smoothly, exciting and full of surprises that you almost stay everytime with your mouth gaping.   One of very very few times I\'m not disappointed by a so hyped Game.  Congrats Naughty Dog.

i really have a hard time with the Yeti on Hard setting. Everything else has been pretty easy. I got the cover & shooting action perfectly. But the run and gun in circle thing is not my thing. I\'ll try until I beat it, 10 mins a day or perhaps, for as long as I can endure this lol.

I\'ve completed it last night. I took 2 attemp for the damn Yeti. Overall, crushing has been quite really good. It was easier for me then Uncharted: Drake\'s Fortune. I\'m getting all the remaining trophies I still haven\'t found. 19 treasures. kill 75 people without dying. kill 10 people in a row with a single punch after shooting them. These should all be easy to get with M4 + infinite ammo :D :D :D

I\'ve been enjoying the MP too much to start on crushing, though I will in due time. Loving the Survival mode in coop, as it really enables you to hone your skills.

i\'m only missing 15 treasures. I\'ve cheated though, I bought from the store the SAS and GAUS and unlimited ammo to complete these trophies. And I finished the "kill 75 without dying" on very easy.

I\'ll have my platinum in a week or so :D. My playtime has sunk a lot, I\'ve started to read R.A Salvatore, The Dark Elf trilogy

I have still to finish the "kill 75 without dying", and I want to do it at crashing with standard weapons :D    Actually I did 40 without dying at crashing, and I think I can do 75 with more training.   I will try at least.

I\'m missing 20 treasures, where the hell ND had hidden them ??   maybe I was focusing to much at shooting/fighting ? :)

Lots of connection errors this weekend, I think a had 4 coop matches dropped yesterday. Enjoying the new "Fort" level, though it makes it more challenging when players are learning the in\'s and out\'s of a new level. Had a blast in a series of satisfying coop matches where people actually (gasp) worked together; nothing more annoying than those "lone wolves" who pass by downed team mates just to bump-up their kill count.

Not yet, but I will do.    I\'m loving the 2-3 players cooperative, most of all when I play with people who do team strategy, and not only thinking about how much they are cool with their level 40-46 and their "spectacular sole" game-play, as Zavijava already said.

I just started playing this....and yeah the graphics are just mind-blowing...and the dialogue between the characters is fantastic... it comes off feeling incredibly natural...best voice acting ever. I\'ve found myself pausing and just looking at the scenery of this game...really really impressive stuff....i haven\'t finished it yet, but i\'ve no complaints...naughty dog really knows how to make a great lookin\' game.

My only complaint thus far tho...and i\'m nit-picking...is that why is everybody in this game midgets?...i feel like i\'m in the land of oz with the munchkins from back in tha day!..:D...ok maybe it\'s not that bad, but all of the characters are short...i know it\'s more of a game engine thing, but you can actually notice how everybody in the game has some type of growth problem....it\'s the "madden" syndrome..:D

My other complaint is really just a concern...i\'m not sure how they are going to be able to give us new and fresh locales for the next game...while the lush jungles and caves of this look great, i still got a wee-bit sense of "been here done that"...but i guess i can\'t fault the game for that because the theme of the game revolves around treasure hunting and ancient locales exploring...i just think it\'s going to be tough to design something new and different for the next game..tho i will say that this game has some of thee best looking snow levels ever.

Finished Uncharted1 at least 9 times, and once I played the second, I felt it fresh.  The beginning is very different in every aspect :)  and most chapters too, apart from the jungle, which is just looking better and bigger.  As you said, the voice acting is fantastic, cut-scene marvellous.  Best game this year for me.

In Uncharted3, Egypt, sand and Under-water levels/ new game-play/actions/moves are strongly rumored, and it\'s not a surprise for me ;)
E3 2010 will give us the first info.

ps: Tell me when you\'ll go on MP, and then your PSN ID, if you like.

i just started a 3rd playthrough to pick up the rest of my gun achievements and the treasures. I got 70 on my own but I looked everywhere so I\'ll miss a grip if I dont use a guide, which im doing on this playthrough

does anyone repeatedly have trouble with the heist level with the big fountain (you hop in the fountain and take out the guy leaning on it)? I seriously have to play that part like 10 times every playthrough either from the 5th guy on the side of the room, or the 3 guys by the same couple stairways
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: BizioEE on January 13, 2010, 12:38:09 AM
Spoiler.

You mean the second level in Turkey, the part where you must not show yourself and start playing from a balcony. Go down, walk behind the first and suffocated him. You are hiding behind the large fountain, hanging on the side ,then approach the man leaning against the fountain and suffocated him. Wait untill there is no light near you, go left towards the dark area of the garden and go choking the other two men. Compared to the latter two, go ahead and right, climb the small stairs(dark area), hide behind the little wall, and prepared to jump down when the fifth man do not tip against the light, suffocate him and hide. Now back to the fountain, paying attention to light, until your friend sees you and follows you. Go up the main staircase, you first, and then strike the sixth man on the right (but not immediately, wait a second in front of him and then hit him), your friend will do the same to the one on the left. And then the game is done, and climb on the roof.  I tried more than 7-8 times the first playthrough.
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: clips on January 13, 2010, 04:40:35 AM
^^^Haha...yeah that level gave me some headaches as well...I remember hiding just below the staircase then hanging on it..then trying to grab one of the guys with their backs turned...it didn\'t happen tho...i got busted everytime...i eventually got passed it in the way you described tho...

i was stuck there and i was stuck in one of the snow levels that involved those rotating clocks? Not sure if they were clocks or not, but i didn\'t know you could grab onto them...i mean i was stuck for about 45 minutes dying, looking around & trying to figure out what to do, then when i found out that you can actually grab onto them, it was pretty much simple...and my playtime on my first playthrough was around 15 hrs...as great as the game was....i\'ll most likely give the game a 4-5 month break so i can forget about it a bit...so when i do play it again it\'ll feel fresh....excellent game tho....it\'s lightyears better than the tomb raider series and drake is cooler and fresher than indiana jones...production values are thru tha roof in this game....i\'m still amazed at the details in drakes snow-jacket(the brown jacket) you could even see the stitching in it...amazing.

Yeah, a little tricky, and I had one of my kids climbing one me for the last match. I\'ve got to stop with the "run-and-gun" method that has rubbed-off from Deathmatch, as it\'s hindering my Co-op play.

The Sanctuary in survival mode is safer higher up after level 4 or 5 in my experience, and same with the Village. Still not sure how to get a random third person in a custom game, so I\'ll let you set-up the next couple of matches.:thumb:

I\'d play tonight, but I think with the time difference (6 hours) it might not happen as I get on about 9 pm after both my kids are asleep.

See you on there soon!

I like how long this thread is going. Amazing to read the people at first that couldn\'t believe the graphics and then us all saying that it\'s easy to tell that it isn\'t pre-rendered.

It\'s just simply amazing how fun and intense this game plays! From a single player stand-point this game is full of action! I enjoyed it and couldn\'t put it down after I got it from the day it came out. I literally lost a poker match with my buddies to pop it in and see their reactions that night, "is this a movie or a game?!".

Playing it online is addictive. I want to pick it up again, but my current addiction is MW2. I just want to be the numba one stunna... Bladez - I recommend this one!

Will you be online this weekend? I\'ll try to be free for Sat. and Sun. afternoon, provided I can get both of my kids to nap. If we can\'t get anyone from here to join us in coop, I might be able to wrangle someone from my friends list.

Are you still working on crushing, or have you completed it yet? I\'m at chapter 18 and finding rather easy, particularly compared to UC1\'s crushing.

Sun. would be perfect, afternoon for you, and evening for me.
Finished at crash, a bit easier than Uncharted1 at crash. Now I\'m playing again SP at crash, in the middle of chapter 6, beautiful game, really beautiful.

For our next match, I was thinking about a co-op at the sanctuary or a survival at the village.  PS : have you ever tried co-op at hard ??  It\'s challenging, a lot challenging, more than expected.  We could try, one match at hard, just put hard in your profile.
Let me know the best time to play for you, on sunday ;)

Yeah, no kidding it\'s difficult! We\'ll have to give the Village and Sanctuary a go on hard Coop, though I do think we\'ll need to enlist a third player. I\'m positive that we can nail all ten waves on Survival with just the two of us. I say we keep working on the Sanctuary....we almost had it on Sat!

Yep, we did better on Sanctuary Survival in our second try, the more we play together, the more we find a better strategy, but sure it\'s so challenging in 2 players to finish all 10 rounds; but we will manage soon.  On co-op at hard, we definitely need a 3rd player, it\'s crazy, starting from the 1st "check point", I couldn\'t believe. There is the difference between night and day, playing from Normal to Hard.   Let\'s prepare the next match :D

I\'d like to see what the co-op is all about.  I don\'t like the multiplayer.  I guess maybe because I am level 3, but I can shoot someone 50 times and they don\'t go down.  He shoots me once and done.

I was playing with some dood last night who was on level one, and after three good bouts of survival he was a level nine, so leveling up in a mode other than deathmatch is much more satisfying. As well, try adding the "down the irons" and "fleet foot " boosters, and while they might be frowned upon by some as giving an unfair advantage, they will give you a good start.

The MP isn\'t my much my thing either these days as there are too many tools flapping their prepubescent pie holes. The coop objective mode is fun as you play through scripted parts of the game together with two other people. The survival and gold rush modes are quite enjoyable as well, imo.

If you are interested, I can set-up a coop objective match.

I\'m confident that we can do all ten levels of the Plaza and Sanctuary just the two of us.

I\'m pretty sure of it.  And with mic. whould be easier, to coordinate our strategy.  See you soon for the next match ;)

Hey Biz, going to try make some time both on Sat. and Sun. afternoon (evening for you) for some Co-op, though might be tight for time on Sat., we\'ll see. Made some more connections, so we might have a third person join.

Anyone else interested in joining?

Yep, 3 players is what the game is built around.   I have 2 friends who play often U2 MP, I met them yesterday.  But, often, they are into the match when I log in.
The others play most of all late in the night, or play other games for the majority :(

Nolaws, Clip, Cerberus, videoholic ?  Let\'s try one match.

Zavi, I will play a bit Sat evening, and I\'ll try Sun too.   See you ;)

And not only Plaza and Sanctuary, we alone are enough to finish all 10 rounds of Fort too, like yesterday.

I think it was the most intense and furious 2-players survival I have ever made.
We came out from the small room downstairs, with 5 or 6 guys inside, shooting to us, and three of them were the big ones with the strong armour, 1 or 2 trying to grab us, and other 2-3 mega siber demons with their MG like weapons were coming in too, shooting like crazy.
We killed everybody, moving left and right, taking cover, in a so tight space, it was incredible mate ;)

And we continued the massacre outside, poor enemies :D

Yeah, not too bad for a last match!

Next time lets finish off the other survival levels with just the tow of us!!!
I\'m not a huge fan of Gold Rush either, though it can be fun when all three players stay tight.

I can\'t tell if my mic is working?

Now that, my friend, was how to kick some ass with only two players in Survival!!! We\'ll have to do that again!

For the Sanctuary, I think that we should stay inside the building that we start off in after level 7. Sort of like the Fort, where we have all the enemies come to us, and then finish the big badass dudes in the end.

See you then!

It was fantastic, we won 4 survival and reached level 9 or 10 at the Sanctuary, the only one missing, it was a true BLAST. And I agree with you, in 2 players only, we should stay inside the building after round 7-8, there are too many bastards grabbing, shooting and throwing grenades.   Next time we will finish the Sanctuary.  I was thinking...we have to try again the ones(4 by 5) we already won in this way : odd rounds, you only play and I watch at you; even rounds, I play and you watch at me; in this way, with 1 player only survival, those bastards will have some more chances to survive :D

Zavi, finished the survival at the village with a very strong guy(level X),
and did 30,000 points more than him :D

kidding aside, points are not the most important part, it\'s like you play, help your friends too when needed, and the whole strategy, and mine was better too :D

We have to kick some serious ass at the Sanctuary some day, the only one missing to us together.

It’s no surprise that Naughty Dog’s unique combination of storytelling cinematics, frantic action sequences, challenging traversal and tricky puzzle solving has been recognized across the industry and worldwide. Last evening in Las Vegas, UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves took the Interactive Achievement Awards by storm, grabbing ten awards, the most for any one title. It also won “Overall Game of the Year” for 2009, which is the second time PlayStation has been awarded this coveted honor by the academy. UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves has also garnered more than 150 other industry awards, has over 1.5 million online users worldwide, and has surpassed 3.5 million copies sold worldwide – the fastest selling first-party title for PlayStation. Not to mention, it’s established a new standard for games developed on the PS3 platform.

I only managed a round in both new levels last night....and they are fairly expansive in comparison to the default arenas.
The flooded ruins are going to be a challenge, as I have yet to find a decent spot to stand my ground, and the ammunition is very sparse. The bunker seems like it can be completed quite easily just by going to the very top, though levels 9 and 10 can be pretty intense.

I\'ll practice up tonight and see you tomorrow at the regular time!

Finished all 10 rounds at both new maps, but I think we were lucky. We did a mess, I mean, me and one guy(level V, very strong) and another not so expert player.
At round 10 I saved my friends 3 or 4 times in 15-20 seconds, then they died; I managed to go away from that hell of a place, the one where you start from, and waited, shooting a bit here and there, running away, untill round 10 finished.  I didn\'t kill everybody, it was not possible, and I was so so close to die 5 seconds after my friends died, that I don\'t even know how I manage to survive alone in that mess.  Anyway, we will play together and we will try to find a good strategy, \'cause I haven\'t yet :)

got a random obsession with this game again and finally got the platinum trophy.

this and the first uncharted are the only ones I\'ve gotten it

but it\'s a little annoying they put online trophies, since I never get those so ill never have 100% for the game because of it. I like it a lot more when games use trophies for single player, and have a separate \'incentive system\' for online like CoD does

Hit the square button on the trophies for UC2 and it  separates the DLC and SP trophies.

Zavi, I was very busy on sat and sunday evening/night, but we have to play the new maps, I will be on-line this week at the usual time.

ps: I played with the guy who talks a lot in the afternoon, we did a nice match, but didn\'t finish all 10 rounds due to connections problem.  Then I put in my friend list another friend, from another forum, and he\'s strong, not as me and you, but very strong (for some 3 players co-op/survival in the near future). See you soon my friend.

No worries, sometimes life gets in the way.;)

I completed the facility with only one other person, and the flooded ruins are fairly straight forward. I had the unfortunate experience of playing with some total fuckin\' tools; they kept blowing each other up, which only mildly annoyed me at first....until I started to get in between their grenades. Stupid kids.

Did you hit level 53? I just got my 52, but I think it will be some time until I bank the 2 million it requires to move up.

Do you know if the "invalid" booster enables you to level-up quicker?
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: BizioEE on March 01, 2010, 08:25:39 AM
I completed both on my first try, but I played with a guy skilled like me and you ;)

Then I died playing with a couple of monkeys, I was just running all around saving them; but you know, after round 7...err...if they don\'t help you, you die :)
and some other times, you play with odd people who don\'t even move from the initial position, or throw grenades to you.  I got mad some time ago, I was in cover and a troll shooted me on the back, at round 10. I did everything alone, I was close to 300,000 points in that single match, and he killed me before I could finish round 10, almost alone. I got furious :D   I know, it\'s only a game, but I got mad.

I\'m close to level (III), and I cannot answer your question, but hope to find you on-line soon.

[size=+1]Uncharted 2 Patch 1.06 Goes Live[/size]

Quote

Evan Wells, Co-President of Naughty Dog, has just alerted the gaming masses that the latest update for Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves, version 1.06, has just gone gold and is available to download. This newest patch features a handful of new features and tweaks to the online experience that should please all gamers.

This latest patch, now available, features the following updates:
[list=a]
  • Removed automatic shoulder selection when players click the L1 shoulder button to aim
  • Delayed the appearance of the scoreboard to allow time for players to view any medals received simultaneously with player death
  • Adjusted hitbox attributes so that players will take less damage to the character’s legs
  • Decreased kill radius of grenades by 1 meter
  • Decreased accuracy of Down the Irons by 15%
  • Reduced rate of fire of the FAL by 10%
  • Reduced rate of fire for the Dragon Sniper by 10%
  • Collision and geometry changes to “The Fort” to prevent intentional glitching by players[/b]
As you can see, most of these tweaks are more “behind-the-scene” rather than up-front. However, the first two on the list are definitely significant enough to warrant an update. In any case, go and download the latest patch for the multiplayer component of easily one of the best games of 2009.

Glad they addressed the hitbox attributes, so for those of us that can consistently make headshots aren\'t on par with those who can\'t. The decreased accuracy of DTI is definitely a good move as well!

Hope you will be on-line, we have to try the new maps together; I finished both, but I haven\'t a strategy yet, played them 3-4 times, not more.  I discovered a couple of points where it\'s easier to survive in 2-players only, that\'s all :)

Is it just me, or is there an influx of annoying players these days? I was playing with some higher ranked players, and after out shooting them for three rounds, they decided I shout be a target. Sour grapes I tells ya.

Lately I play mostly with friends; too many young morons and trolls are all around.
3 day ago I played  with a guy, very strong(level IX); I did more kills and head shoot than him, and I saved him so many times that he is still counting them;
we were 2 players only, he had a very aggressive strategy, this is why he was finishing in trouble so often.  In a word, I was stronger than him, and he started to shoot me, and save me, and shoot me, etc.  I didn\'t react, but in the end he made some points more than me, and me more kills and head shoot than him.
I think this kind of players are very young, maybe 14,15 years old children, in most cases, and stupid children I would say.

Thanks mate for your praises, but I was bit slow yesterday, very tired for job.
not my best games :)
You are very very good, your strategy is very good, it\'s great playing with you, as usual, regardless of some little mistakes we do when we are tired.

2 players is good; I have friends on-line at that time, so we could even try a 3 players, all known and skilled friends.   the 3rd random is mehh sometime :)   I would say often.

I like to choose our levels, and I would like to finish a couple of plunder, though I prefer Survival.    Even co-op at hard or Crashing is funny, we will see :)

Yeah, I wouldn\'t mind taking a stab at Coop on hard, I have tried them on crushing a few times, so I think hard shouldn\'t be too bad.

Gold Rush isn\'t that bad provided you have people that aren\'t playing it like survival. I definitely prefer The Lost City and The Fort for this mode.

See you tomorrow, and I\'ll let you do the set-up.

I would say, 1 co-op at hard/crashing with another friend, 2-3 survival me and you at the sanctuary/lost city/flooded ruins and 1 plunder with 3 players, something like that.

ps: I think we should try to finish every co-op at hard and crashing.  I didn\'t do it, shame on me :D

Zavi, I finished the War-Zone and Sanctuary co-op at hard; only the Village is missing.  Then I should finish all three at crashing.  Are you helping me ? :)

PS: If someone else wanna join me and Zavi, is very welcome !

I\'ve been meaning to start the objective on hard, but just haven\'t got around to it.

Zavi, we were so close to finish both War Zone and Sanctuary co-op at crashing.

I think I have understimated a couple of situations, it was very easy to arrive to the very end of both maps. Anyway it was a great play, crashing level at co-op is not for everybody ;)

Our group is fully ready to finish all maps at crashing !

ps: did you finish all co-op maps at hard ?  And the plunder games ?
I finished all co-op at hard, and the one missing with you yesterday; and I miss a couple of plunder; we will team to finish everything :D

The other guy is very nice, he does strategy and he\'s smart, and he\'s on-line at our usual time on Sat and Sun.  The group is very very good.

Yeah, it didn\'t help that I was playing piss-poor half of the time. I had to watch my youngest half way through the last round....just a little distracted.

I need to do both the sanctuary and war zone on hard.....almost had them on crushing.

Yes, I think the three of us can be a great team, and I look forward to more matches.

I\'ve never played the plunder mode, gold rush many of times, but not plunder. Pretty much capture-the-flag from what I can gather.

I don\'t think I\'ll be online today due to Easter obligations, though should be on tomorrow.

Yep, sometime it\'s not possible to give our best;  my wife is pushing me \'cause she wants the Big TV :)     She has her stuff to watch, and when someone push you while you\'re playing, it\'s not easy, most of all when we play at crashing level :D

I finished all maps at hard, but I have to finish now all maps at crashing.
And a couple of plunder maps are missing too; we will help each the other to finish everything, if you like.
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: BizioEE on April 06, 2010, 12:54:04 AM
Yesterday an unlucky night for me, too many phone calls, and very unlucky with grenades :D

Zavi, I forgot to point out a very important thing about the Sanctuary co-op at hard or crashing.  I get 2 RPGs when we finish the 2nd check point(but 2 RPGs are not enough), all players must take 2 RPGs each; with 6 RPGs in total is very easy to destroy the big Bastard with the MG on the TOP who shoot us(the only one who\'s really annoying, and don\'t allow us to move for more than 3 seconds without cover) , with the other big armoured guys ;)    Let\'s throw 6 RPGs on the TOP, as we start the check point, and
the game is done, simple as that.   We will finish 2 co-op maps at crashing next time, I promise.
Title: Uncharted 2

Very nice matches yesterday Zavi.
have you finished plunder in the Lost City and the Complex ?  These are my only plunder maps missing, only tried a couple of time, and with average players.

The guy of yesterday is not skilled enough to help us in crashing level; I made another game with him, a 2-players survival in the lost city, but he got frustrated after 5 rounds and he left me alone, he stopped moving.  I played alone and finished alone all rounds from 6 to 10, I made my personal record :D

I sent a msg to another friend, he\'s very strong, hope he will be on-line at our time, to do 1 or 2 maps at crashing.

ps: you did a wonderful village survival ;)
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: Zavijava on April 07, 2010, 05:18:26 AM
Lost City yes, the Complex no.

I must admit that I was falling short on the Coop at times, and damn that wall we have to scale...it gets me every time:)

I\'ve been playing the default arena levels which tends to match you up with a lot of new/low level players. I find that this can be even more challenging as you constantly have to rescue them and try to keep it together to make all the rounds. Playing with more skilled players, even two player, I find is easier than doing this sometimes.

I would have liked to see you clean-up levels 6-10, but doesn\'t surprise me one bit; you are quite the player, one of the best that I get to play with. Now if only I can only keep my head down more so you don\'t always have to come to the rescue.

See you this weekend!

Have you tried the Invalid "booster"?
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: BizioEE on April 07, 2010, 08:23:38 AM
I didn\'t try. I will check today or tomorrow.

I agree with you, I prefer playing 2-players, rather than the 3rd random, too many times they are low level or trolls, disturbing our games.   I have many "Uncharted2 friends" in my list, and it\'s easy to find the 3rd.  The only problem is for co-op at crashing, we need a very very very good 3rd, not only good or so and so :)
The last check point in the Sanctuary is crazy at crash; last time we played, I finished the ammo when those 3 armoured bastards were coming to us; I tried to run away, and come back to rescue, but
they managed to shoot me on the back from distance, lucky bastards :D
See you on Sat and/or Sun.

ps: you are very strong too, actually my most favourite to play with ;)
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: Zavijava on April 07, 2010, 10:57:08 AM
From what I can gather, the invalid "booster" applies half-health status, though you can get special medals with greater value. I believe I read somewhere that this helps expedite the leveling up process in the higher levels.

I found a great player to do our crashing and finish it; he\'s not much experience in crashing, but he played insanely good for his first time; second match was better and better, he learns very quickly.   If we 3  manage to meet all together by Sat or Sun, we will finish a couple of maps.

Sounds good! Hopefully we can nail the Sanctuary once and for all. I have a couple of skilled randoms in my list as well to draw from.

Towering over the streets of Nepal, The Highrise is a map with plenty of opportunities for players to get the high ground on their opponents. Set on a series of destroyed and under-construction buildings, players need to be on their toes as there are many different jump locations and paths around the map. Players should also watch out for the incoming airstrikes, as they can clear the rooftops in seconds.

The Museum

Set at dusk amongst the courtyards and display cases at the site of Drake and Flynn’s heist, The Museum provides players with a mix of intense gameplay covering traversing across rooftops, dodging gunfire through twisting corridors, and close quarters fighting. Players need to watch their backs as there are numerous flank routes in all parts of this circular map.  Players should also learn the secret climbing routes that will allow them to get the drop on their opponents.

[size=+1]6 Skins[/size]

Wetsuit Drake
Baseball Shirt Drake

Great matches Zavi, great Survival, great Plunder games, and we won the co-op in War-Zone at crashing level ;)

The other guy is strong, though he focus too much on making a lot of points; more points are not the most important thing when we have to finish a challenging game; we have to cover our friends, choose the best solution to save someone in trouble; if someone do care too much about points, the team suffer, like yesterday with that guy; I repeat, he\'s skilled, but he\'s a bit too aggressive, and he finishes in trouble a bit too much, which is not a beautiful thing in crashing :)

When we played at the Sanctuary with the other guy, we managed to reach the last check-point, and he made few points compared to us; anyway they were very funny games.

Post by: Zavijava on April 12, 2010, 05:58:57 AM
Yes, I totally agree about that first player, and I do like playing with Roquia (sp?)

And again, sorry about my phasing out half of the time; lousy controller crapping out on me.

I\'ve started playing deathmatch and elimination again, and it can be fun most of the time. Using the 9mm is very effective due to it\'s speed and impact; I loved hearing some of "WTF!" and "this is bullshit" reactions.

We should make a team for the "Plunder" mode to get those medals. I haven\'t played this mode yet, so it could be interesting.
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: BizioEE on April 13, 2010, 02:07:17 AM
Yep, Roquita is very nice, he\'s from Spain, and he\'s on-line at 8-9 pm GMT+1 almost every day, the time we played last Sun.

The other guy is a machine, but don\'t try to do more points than him, as I did last time, because he disconnects and disappears from internet half a day :D
If he wants the "points war", I will stop the strategy and I begin my personal game, making 30%-40% more points than usual :D

Do you remember pacoetpapa, we played with him and we were so so close to finish the Sanctuary at crashing at our 1st attempt; sadly I don\'t see him on-line anymore; he\'s very balanced, he does strategy.  It\'s not easy to find a great player for crashing, very hard I would say, though Roquita is improving a lot lately, and I would go with him.

Finished The Sanctuary co-op at crashing, now The Village is the only one missing.
Zavi, if you are free on Sat/Sun, we could try The Village for me and you, and The sanctuary again, and some Plunder games, which are very funny when we play together with another friend !

Zavi, I had 3,4 people in my group, and when I saw you I didn\'t start the game, just waiting someone leaving my group to have space for you; but when one left, another joined; for few seconds I had only 1 player in my group, but I think you were stuck, too many times for me and you lately ARGH !

I finished all co-op maps at hard and crashing, yesterday the Village with Roquita and another guy, very nice, but not even half as skilled as you ;)
I finished with 190 kills and 200,000 points, my personal record at the Village :)  I was on crack yesterday, a machine, Roquita was speechless.

edited: Next Sat/Sun you will set all games, if you are free. (I may just ask for a Plunder in the Complex).

Yeah, no worries; I was just trying to get in a quick match or two before I went out, but all these partying-up issues we had this weekend made it difficult.

DLC this week! Looks like we have more to accomplish...oh yeah!

You know, I have not played with anyone that can go without being shot as infrequently as you; it\'s pretty impressive to watch, though must be tiresome to revive a bullet-magnet such as myself.:thumb:

Might be on Fri. as well, not sure, but I\'ll let you know closer to the day.

On Fri is ok, whenever you want.  The new maps are coming, and the new co-op mode too, we will be busy.   The only "problem" is, I received a call for a new job, so there\'re chances I move again from Italy, and you won\'t see me on-line for a week or 2; then, I will move PS3 with me in the new place and we will play as usual ;)

See you my friend.

I\'ll touch base with you on PSN for some match-ups.

I applied the "invalid" booster last night, though it doesn\'t work on Survival, Coop, or Goldrush. Anyway, after 1 hour of playing Deathmatch I was up $300k!
After you surpass 7 medals/match you gain an additional $25k and you can top off at close to $50k per Deathmatch. Quite the quick way to level, that\'s for sure.

Looking forward to tackling these new maps!

Am I reading this right? You\'re a pilot?

I\'m off work tomorrow, so I\'m planing to do some heavy leveling-up. Let\'s hook-up if you are free. I just have to get past that darned Warzone level to get the trophy, which is crazy because I feel it\'s the easiest of the coop objectives. We killed on all other matches other than this one.

See you soon my friend.

Yep, I\'m an airline pilot, but I didn\'t work for the last 12 months, I couldn\'t find a steady job after my ex-company failed...now it\'s ok, tomorrow I should sign the contract and start flying in a week :)

I wasn\'t in a good shape last time, one week without playing plus you know..., though I played good the Sanctuary co-op at crashing and we won ;)
No chances for me to be on-line in these days, maybe Sat or Sun(our usual time).

Next time we will own the WarZone, it\'s the easiest, it was just a matter of understimating it !

Hey, that\'s pretty cool, glad for you that you are back to work again! I completely understand about life getting in the way of gaming;); with work and two kids under 3 I\'m surprised that I have any "free" time. The only reason I\'m going to be online today is that I had the day booked off for day-surgery for my youngest (which has been bumped),  my older son is in daycare, and my wife who has become a professional shopper is going to the mall, so all this =free time for me!

You are right about underestimating the easier levels; it\'s easy to be over-confident when we are not faced with a more challenging effort.

You know, we are adult, we are busy with our stuff, but believe me when I say I miss my PS3 when I don\'t play for some days; I\'m looking for a beautiful flat here, hope the agency will find one in few days, I need all the best here, a penthouse with city views and my PS3 logged in :D  I\'m confident I will be arranged by Sat !  Be ready Zavi ;)

I\'ll try to make myself free for Sat.

I leveled-up 1 million yesterday, secret is to equip "invalid" on Deathmatch which yields up to 50k per match. So, in theory, you can get close to 300k in an hour or so depending on the length of the match.

Hey, if you are ever doing international flights and are over in this part of the world let-me-know. :thumb:

No worries my friend. I\'ve been off for a few days as I was installing a new TV amidst other things that seem to be eating up my time. I should be online this weekend if you manage to hook-up your PS3.

That\'s wonderful Zavi ;)

for our match on Sun, don\'t laugh, I mean, I\'ll play on a small low res TV, I don\'t know if I\'ll manage to aim in low res :D  :D
Getting my 1st salary on monday, or tuesday, so the new TV will come the same day, and we\'ll have the real matches the next next Sat/Sun :)

Ha, no worries. I\'ve been playing RDR lately, so I\'ll be a little slow on the draw with UC2 anyway. Oddly enough, I had to recently adjust to a larger screen; was using a 46" for the longest time and just upgraded to a 58".

OMG a 58" ?!?   fantastic.   I was thinking about a 40" for me now, like the one I have in Rome.   Then, by october/nov, the best 3D TV 50" must come in my flat, and the 40" will be for my wife\'s TV programs :D

It was a pleasure to play together again! I haven\'t played much UC2 since RDR came out, so I was a little rusty out-of-the-gate. If my camping trip gets rained out next weekend, I\'ll be online at the normal time.

How does it handle motion at that size?

Your screen, that is. Though I\'m sure a few would be curious about the penis response as well.

Have you tried the "lab" yet? They have experimental games, like right now there are deathmatches with shotguns only. It\'s more amusing than strategic, and downright fun for a while.

Not tried, and I read that the June 25-28 event gives teams Dragon Sniper rifles, one life per round. "Best of 5 rounds takes the match win"

I should be free for Sun :thumb:

No worries, gotta work, I get it.

Doing the camping thing with the family so I won\'t be around this weekend.

On a related note, have you noticed that they removed the level cap from 60?
I\'ve played with a couple of 61, and 65(!) players, though I can\'t imagine the level-up time required to reach those levels.

We\'ll catch-up sooner or later my friend!

we were great together, we won everything, every match, and we were close to finish 3 consecutive co-op maps at crashing, but the connection errors stopped us to make a record ;) "only" 2 consecutive.
Survival, plunder, and the new mode, we won so easy everything, really a nice team :thumb:

The only thing we have still to achive is winning the 3 consecutive co-op maps at crashing like I said above :D   ps: did you win the "crashing trophy" ?
we already did it together but before the throphy was available. Me yes, and you too I think, with our last matches.

This Sat I\'m coming back to Tirana, back to my job, see you then my friend.

I don\'t like Deathmatch, played a couple of times, I mostly play cooperative modes, where I\'m a beast :D    it\'s just a matter of training and playing and your skills.  I played today after one week of hard flights and I was a bit slow the first 30 minutes, then a machine as usual. If you play a lot you become strong, but if you play a match every 3 months you get owned by people who play every day.

If I try to play a deathmatch at COD: MW2 now, I would die every 20 seconds, I\'m pretty sure.
It would be nice to do some cooperative modes together, but it\'s not easy with our different time, and lately I\'m missing Zavi too, we all are busy with our stuff.
Title: Uncharted 2
Post by: Zavijava on July 26, 2010, 07:07:15 AM
Yeah, with Death Match you pretty much have to play regularly or you\'ll get your ass handed to you, plus the user base seems to be comprised mainly of the more hardcore UC2 players, thus making it less enjoyable for noobs or people who only play on occasion.

And yes, Biz is a beast in coop.....the guy NEVER dies!!!

Oh, I finally upgraded my home wireless network, and now not dying due to lag which has been so bloody frustrating.

[size=+1]ND: We’ll implement 3D and Move if it fits [/size]

Quote

singing and dancing in 3D (if you can afford the TV and glasses) with many jumping aboard the motion control band wagon with PlayStation Move. So what about our beloved Uncharted developer Naughty Dog? Will their next PS3 game support 3D and/or PlayStation Move? The Dog’s told us here at PlayStation University.

When we asked whether we could see the next Naughty Dog game in 3D, the developer’s community strategist Arne Meyer said:

Quote
“3D is an interesting technology, especially given how well it’s been recently implemented in the cinema and all the support it’s getting in the industry. We’re extremely fortunate to have the PS3 be a platform that can provide us with the power and option to implement 3D in future projects,” told PSUni.

“What we may do with this technology depends on how it fits into the story we want to do, so we haven’t made any decisions at this time. Generally speaking, it is an exciting technology to see come to fruition in the home, as it opens a variety of ways developers can innovate with their narrative and with their games.”

And what about the new PS3 motion controller, Move? Meyer responded:

Quote
“Pretty much the same thing as with 3D technology – we’re extremely fortunate to have a platform in the PS3 that can provide an option to use these new tools to allow developers and storytellers to interact with their audiences in new and compelling ways. Utilizing the Move is certainly an option we would consider – again, if it fits in with our narrative and design goals.”

Ok, neither are definitive answers, but the option’s certainly there. As for what Naughty Dog thinks about Move in comparison to the Nintendo Wii and Microsoft’s Kinect, Meyer added:

Quote
“Overall, we’re really glad to see the industry push towards new ways to engage and broaden their audiences. We feel the Move is an extremely robust, accurate method of interacting with gamers – it will be awesome to see how many of the top development teams on the PS3 use and innovate with the Move when it is released later this year.”

Yeah, fun to watch, but you can tell that\'s from way back.....1.04 I think. The players on these days are pretty much the hardcore crowd with the occasional noob, so it\'s pretty much a race to the power weapons and circling the spawn spots. You either know what to predict or you get slaughtered.

I\'m giving the team matches a rest for a while, but am always up for some friendly coop!

Nice play Zavi, as usual;  in the last co-op, to be honest in most matches, I was kidding a bit too much; it was very easy the war zone, but playing with the one who grabs you(before the last check point), well, I was grabbed :D

Anyway, it\'s good to relax and play easy sometime; next time all soldiers will die in any match. See you soon.

ps: I can\'t turn on my PS3 anymore; when I press the PS botton of my controller, PS3 is not turning on, and the 4 red lights of the controller start flashing. When I try to turn on PS3 touching its I/O, I get green and blue for 3 seconds then a flashing red on the right light, and I cannot remove LBP from it.

I can\'t go to Italy to fix my PS3 in the near future, and here where I work(Albania) nobody understands more than a shit about PC/CONSOLE hardware.
Maybe I\'ll buy a new PS3 SLIM tomorrow, at least I might still buy here...

Fuck !    How to move all the stuff I have in the HDD of my "broken" PS3 to the new one ?????? :D

Yeah, fun for sure. I think I brought a little too much suck to the matches, but I\'ll make up for it next time. We should play the gold rush and siege on the DLC levels?

Sorry to hear about your technical issues, wish I had an answer other than giving the thing a good whack.

Yep, my PS3 died, it\'s an old 40GB model, almost 3 years old :(

I\'m going now to see what it\'s available in the big shopping center called City Park, the only place here to find bundle and PS3 games.
I think the 320GB Move Bundle is 349 euro now, and could be 299 in October.

Dogs have a better life than mine now :)      I\'m a slave.

Hope to be free soon :thumb:

I played yesterday, after your message, and I did it :D

4 matches with Roquita and Marloque, won all 3 maps co-op at crushing in a row(personal record), and a plunder in the village, very funny.
I missed all this.

Yeah, threw in UC2 and have totally been missing the MP action. Pretty sure I\'ll be playing UC3 for a year straight when it comes out!

I\'m missing the MP as well, so busy with my job and my life in general; hard to find free time for some co-op in the week-end.

Can\'t wait for U3, my most anticipated game in 2011.

Not that it really matters, but they seem to have adjusted the medal/rewards for coop. I used to get $50k/round and now it\'s closer to $140k/round which obviously makes leveling up less time comsuming.

Hopefully I will be on-line next week-end, missing a lot the MP.

Good matches Zavi; I had a couple of suck moments in the "Square" under siege, though it was not bad considering I didn\'t almost touch U2 MP for a couple of months.  I enjoyed a lot, great team, see you soon.

Man, it\'s like you never stop playing!:thumb: The village was an embarrassment for me, though did a bit better in the other two rounds. Hard to shake the KZ muscle memory when hitting UC2 after some time.

Enjoyed it though, miss having these matches on a more regular basis.

I missed also, it\'s very funny playing with skilled friends, the ones who make team work :thumb:    MP is great when people know how to play, and our co-op team really shines ;)

Hey Biz, got my fix with Roquita yesterday, though a little rusty at first. We were doing two-person siege on the older maps, and it was quite enjoyable.

It\'s time to play again, I\'ll try next Sat/Sun usual time :thumb:

No worries Biz! I\'ve stepped in to a management position, so free time has become even more scarce. Hopefully we can meet-up for UC3 MP beta chaos?!

Tomorrow :)

Well, I think...I think I won\'t play the beta, I\'m trying to avoid huge spoilers; I want the full shock on Day One.  Though I posted pics and movies, I\'m not watching them and I keept my eyes half closed while posting pictures, putting above the huge word [size=+2]SPOILER[/size] for the ones who think like me :)

See you soon my friend.

You know, surprisingly enough, I have debated whether I will in fact try the beta. Initially, I had some preconcieved notion that the beta was going up and staying online until the release of U3...yes, wishful thinking on my part.

It\'s being tested for two-weeks, half of which I will be away. So, I may be retracting my premature enthusiasm, and enjoying it all on day one.

I was tempted to download the beta, yesterday, I was really tempted, but I gave up, I\'ll enjoy the full game.  See you on PSN.

Yeah, I decided to wait as well. I figured that I will have more than enough time to play MP over the next couple of years, so three weeks is pretty much a tease with a game that is not the final product.

For sure! I\'m a little out of practice due to exclusively playing both inFamous titles, but will need to sharpen up my skills for UC3.

Me also, I\'m busy with Infamous2 and LBP2, plus Resistance3 and Dead Island coming in a week or 2.  The high season will be crazy :D
