why don\'t you try Sega Games on PS3? Valkiria Chronicles is very nice.

I\'ve played a few, let me go over them.
Team Fortress 2 - The only game this year that I think truly set the bar high.
Portal - Another great game.
Half Life Episode 2 - Ok , but not great.
Dead Space - Fairly decent, but nothing spectacular.
Soul Calibur 4 - After the initial excitement, I found myself bored.
The Witcher - Problems plagued this one. Wanted to love it tho.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Bought it and took it back next morning. Terrible crap.
Fallout 3 - Wanted to like it, but it lacks the charm Oblivion had.
WoW:WoTLK - I lvled a warrior to 80, but can\'t bring myself to go past 70 with my Death Knight. The expansion just offers nothing end game right now.
Warhammer Online - Crap!
Left 4 Dead - Another game I was so hyped for, but I can\'t even bring myself to play a full session. It\'s just not polished enough for me.
Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix Ultra Cool Alpha Edition - Was hyped for it and its good, but its not great.

Sega lost their magic touch, I know and it\'s sad, very sad for all gamers.
But still you can find some very nice game like the one I mentioned above. And I really hope to have Yakuza3 as soon as possible in Europe, 2010 if I\'m lucky :(
I would love a Sega console back LIC, and after being a moron years and years ago, I bough a DC with 30 games and enjoyed it for a so long time!

Sorry to say, but 2008 didn\'t do it for me either.
On the other hand : I didn\'t (have) too much time & money to spend on gaming either. Egg - Chicken principle, maybe ?
Anyway, I did get MGS4 & Silent Hill Homecoming on PS3 ( and some old Xbox 1 games )
In hindsight I\'d rate MGS4 a little lower than initially. Act 1 & 2 were great ; the other parts didn\'t deliver pure sneaking-upon-guards gameplay to me, so basically, half a stealth game. The rest is a mix of set piece gameplay with a cinematic flair, Act 4 feels like fighting SkyNet from the Terminator movie IP and Act 5 starts out well but dissolves into plot resolving/closing cutscenes.
I haven\'t finished SH Homecoming yet ; this is a tough cookie to beat for me on HARD. I\'m kinda stuck at a bossfight atm ; Scarlet. Overall, the game is OK.
I still see a distinct lack of upcoming true stealth games such as Splinter Cell Conviction & Velvet Assassin from the 2009 PS3 previews list. Work on it Sony, work on it; otherwise....

I enjoyed MGS4, GTA4, LBP, Resistance2 and Gears2. Waiting for MS2 and Mirror\'s Edge.

That game\'s lame story is the primary reason I haven\'t bothered to get back into it, considering I think I was probably about 2/3 through it.
For the first 20 hours, the story line is "I\'m a Russian who is here to go after someone, for some reason."

Considering the game\'s genre, it wasn\'t so bad. To make it any more interesting, they woulda need more long cutsense a la MGS4 and this would have turned off many people.
For myself, i did enjoy NHL09, Resistance 2, Wipeout HD, Rock Band 2, GTA4.
There are a few other games I would like to try out but with my second kid born couple weeks ago, my wallet and free time have been almost non-existant. I plan to buy LBP and Fallout 3. I\'ll rent Valkyria Chronicle and the new prince of persia and i\'ll get from a friend MSG4

review sites seem to be all over gta4\'s nuts. gametrailers gave it game of the year, ps3 game of the year, and 360 game of the year, and i think story too (dumb of them not to keep best 360/ps3 game to exclusives). Its a fun game to play and i thought the voice acting was top notch, but the story itself was pretty lame. i felt like the character wanted to get out of killing, but hed do missions super willingly as long as money was involved..and the majority of the missions had that tone
